Our recent stay at The Resort at Governor's Crossing was absolutely wonderful, and it exceeded our expectations. Everything was exactly as pictured online, which is always a huge relief when booking! The location is fantastic, putting you right where you want to be for exploring the area. The pools were a major highlight truly an amazing feature that we thoroughly enjoyed. Our room itself was really nice, equipped with great amenities that made our stay comfortable and convenient. To address some common misconceptions, it's important to understand that while the rooms are lovely, you shouldn't book expecting Ritz Carlton level furniture. This isn't a negative; it's simply an accurate portrayal of a great resort that delivers on its promises. Honestly, you can ignore the negative reviews you might see online, as most of them seem like they could have been easily avoided with realistic expectations. The staff were absolutely amazing! Every interaction was pleasant and helpful, adding significantly to our positive experience. We had a great room view from Building One, third floor, overlooking the pool area, which was a lovely bonus. We did bring our own additional pots since we prefer higher quality for cooking, but this is a personal preference and their cooking pots were actually quite decent certainly nothing to warrant a negative review. This place is truly great and we most definitely recommend it for anyone visiting the area! You won't be disappointed.

Jun 15, 2025 · Dr. MichelleWe decided to try this Resort. It is in a great location. Check in was nice, check out was better because I just clicked a link and confirmed check out. Although we did not need the full kitchen, it was nice to have it. The room was clean. I watched families with children enjoying the outside water attractions and I think this is a very nice bonus option. We did not have children and as you read on I hope you will come to understand why I did not get into the pool. My concerns with the biggest first: the bed was so very uncomfortable. I left after three nights with a terrible back ache. I can’t express how uncomfortable that bed was. Plus the air vent is on the wall positioned directly towards the head of the bed so whenever it came on, it blows directly on you. It’s June, Air Conditioning season. I am not one who can sleep under air of any kind so I also am leaving with an awful head cold. On the second night we slept at the foot of the bed to try to keep some of the cold air from blowing directly on me. Sleeping at the foot of the bed made sleeping even more difficult and three times as uncomfortable. I had to decide, head cold and pneumonia or back pain. I stayed at the foot of the bed the last two nights but I promise you there was no winning. Then the air seems to be on some kind of control mechanism because the room would get so hot that we would have to get up and bump the temperature setting down a degree to make it cycle on. It would run briefly and not come back on so after the room became so unbearably hot, one of us would get up again to bump the temperature again. We did this at least three times while trying to sleep each night and my husband rarely ever complains about it being too hot while sleeping. Next, the walls are thin. The guest on one side of us bumped noisily around and we could hear children running in the hallway above us. Finally, the only room service we could get was a lady stops to offer towels and get the trash. That’s it. I would have appreciated full room service. These concerns made our three nights stay less than desirable and so I can’t say I would stay at The Resort at Governors Crossing again when I’ve been in better Resort and Hotel accommodations. I would not want to risk the same experience again. This place is not bad, it just wasn’t for me. I absolutely need a good bed without the air blowing right on me.
Jun 15, 2025 · Tam BWe had a great vacation there. Just a few quirks that would have made it better. Our room wasn't ready when we got there and wasn't ready until 530. We were offered a late check out though and that was great. The room could use updated furniture but it was comfortable. The lazy river did not have enough floats and when I asked if they could put more out, it was 1 1/2 hrs before they put any out and by that time we were ready to leave. I do like the "text when you need something", much easier. We will come back!
Jun 03, 2025 · Tammy SkipperWe planned a last minute trip to the mountains and have never been! I was just looking for a hotel when I found this place! We had so much fun! We roasted marshmallows, played putt putt golf, swung on the swings and played in the pools for hours and hours. Our room was super clean and had a full kitchen! The beds were uncomfortable but were used to super firm beds. Would definitely stay again! Staff was so nice. ** We couldn’t wear water shoes in the slide which is unsanitary - so the kids couldn’t do that.
May 08, 2025 · Daniellestayed for the weekend and I enjoyed every minute of it! Check in was so easy. I love how the wrist bands are the room keys and access to everything. We originally had the one bedroom with a bunk bed and one bathroom but we wanted an extra room with an extra bathroom, so we upgraded and it was so much better!! I love the fact that it has a washer and dryer in the room. All we had to do was text and say we needed more towels and they came right away. We got to enjoy the outdoor water park for a little while the sun was out and once it got chilly we went to the indoor and the kids had a great time. I would agree with a lot of the previous reviews and say the water park is great for younger children, although I seen a lot of teens and of course adults too. The jacuzzi was amazing as well. The location is so close to everything, I would give it a 10/10! We will be back
