We arrived at approximately 4:30pm and first, were not allowed in the front door due to picture taking of a wedding but it was very unclear as to where we were supposed to enter. We were given Room #128. We were surprised to see a basement room. We had to go below ground level. The room looked in disrepair. It was extremely dark, there was no hot water or warm water in the bathroom sink for our entire stay. There were nails in the wall where I suppose a picture should have been hanging. There was just a shade to pull down for our front window, thereby leaving a sliver open for anyone to see and making the morning light come in when we would prefer to sleep. The connecting room was a joke. It was though a curtain was there, we heard everything in the adjoining room. And we could see the shadows under the door. In the middle of the night, the air conditioning stopped working. We could not get it to go back on. And the musty smell was just not good. No hand towels in the bathroom but about 4 or 5 bath towels left stacked on the back of the toilet. How unsanitary. No full length mirror in the room. We did not have the luxury of time since we were attending the wedding there. Otherwise we would have asked for a room change. Therefore, we were thoroughly disappointed in this stay and would not recommend this place to anyone.
For local users exploring options via "Hotels Near Of Me" in Spring Lake, NJ, The Shore Club, located at 700 NJ-71, offers a unique set of considerations for potential guests and diners. This establishment operates as both a hotel and a venue for events, featuring a restaurant and bar. To provide a comprehensive understanding, this introduction will objectively detail its environment, services, and features, drawing insights from available information and customer experiences.
The environment at The Shore Club presents a multifaceted experience. As a venue that hosts significant events such as weddings, it aims to provide a setting conducive to celebrations. However, guest experiences regarding the general hotel environment can vary. Some rooms, specifically those in the basement level, have been described as "extremely dark" and potentially in "disrepair," with issues such as "nails in the wall where I suppose a picture should have been hanging." There have also been mentions of "musty smell," indicating potential concerns with ventilation or moisture. The design of some rooms includes only a pull-down shade for windows, which can allow "a sliver open for anyone to see and making the morning light come in when we would prefer to sleep." Furthermore, the soundproofing between connecting rooms has been noted as minimal, with guests "hear everything in the adjoining room" and "see the shadows under the door." These observations suggest that while parts of the venue may be set up for events, the consistency in the quality and comfort of individual hotel rooms, particularly those on lower levels, may differ. For dining, the atmosphere can be bustling, especially on special occasions like Mother's Day, where a full house might impact the overall dining ambiance.
Regarding services, The Shore Club provides accommodations and dining services, catering to both overnight guests and those attending events or simply dining at the restaurant. However, feedback from guests indicates areas where service might be inconsistent. For hotel guests, issues such as difficulty in locating the correct entrance upon arrival, particularly during events, have been reported. Critical deficiencies in room amenities, including a complete lack of hot or warm water in the bathroom sink for an entire stay, non-functioning air conditioning in the middle of the night, and missing essential items like hand towels (while an abundance of bath towels were unsanitarily stacked), have been noted. The absence of a full-length mirror in the room was also a point of contention. For dining, the service experience has been described as understaffed, particularly on busy days, leading to extended wait times to be seated and for initial contact with waitstaff. While some staff members are highlighted as "friendly and helpful," overall service consistency can be an issue. For instance, a promised removal of a beverage from the bill due to dissatisfaction was not honored, indicating potential communication or execution issues. The offering of half-price wine and pasta on Mother's Day suggests an effort to provide value, but the service delivery impacts the overall perception.
The features of The Shore Club encompass both its lodging and culinary offerings. As a hotel, it provides rooms for overnight stays, with various types such as the King Parlor suite, though specific room experiences can vary significantly as detailed in guest reviews. The presence of amenities like air conditioning is expected, but their reliability has been questioned. The restaurant features a menu with items such as prime rib, skirt steak, burgers, and scallops. While some food items have been praised for their taste ("the skirt steak was delicious," "the scallops were delicious"), consistency in preparation has been a concern, with dishes like prime rib being "overdone" when requested medium, and burgers served "still bleeding" when ordered medium. The establishment also functions as an event venue, notably for weddings, which can lead to specific access restrictions for hotel guests during event times. The bar area is a feature, offering a range of beverages, though drink quality has received mixed reviews, such as the "terrible" spicy jalapeño margarita. For those exploring "Hotels Near Of Me" with dining and event space in mind, The Shore Club presents options, but potential visitors should be aware of the detailed feedback concerning both accommodation and dining experiences.
For potential guests and diners considering The Shore Club through platforms like "Hotels Near Of Me," it is important to be aware of the varied experiences reported by previous visitors. While no specific promotional information was provided in the source material, typical booking methods would include direct contact via phone at (732) 449-3666 or mobile at +1 732-449-3666. It is advisable for prospective patrons to inquire about specific room types, recent renovations, and expected service levels, especially if visiting during peak event seasons or holidays. Given the direct feedback, individuals attending events at the venue might find their primary focus on the event itself, but those booking a general overnight stay or planning a significant dining experience might want to manage expectations regarding room conditions, maintenance, and service consistency. For dining, inquiring about staffing levels for specific dates, especially on holidays, could provide a clearer picture of the expected service quality. The Shore Club's dual role as a hotel and event venue means that experiences can be influenced by the scale and nature of concurrent events. Therefore, direct communication to clarify specific needs and concerns is recommended for those considering a visit.

May 19, 2025 · R & N GadMother’s Day party of 5 arrived 620 for 630 reservation waited 5 minutes to be seated. Didnt see the waitress till 6:55pm when we ordered drinks and apps, drinks came out the spicy jalapeño margarita was terrible. A second waitress/bartender came out and said she would take itt off and give her a strawberry margarita at no cost, bill came guess what it was on there. Only had 2 waitresses on for Mother’s Day. They still honored half price wine which we had a bottle and half price pasta on Mother’s Day which was nice. Food was good but they are definitely la king in staff/waitresses service. Food wise the prime rib was overdone asked for medium see picks, the skirt steak was delicious, burger asked for medium came out still bleeding and the scallops were delicious. 50/50 for food, service need help, one waitress bartender was good she had a white ba pack didn’t get her name but most helpful. Don’t think I will be returning
May 12, 2025 · Ted KennyJust wanted to say that I had a wonderful time dining at your restaurant 04/12/2025 . Both the food and the atmosphere were excellent! I especially appreciated the Pork chop was perfectly done, the atmosphere is really cozy, especially sitting by the fireplace makes it very romantic for the couple.I will definitely be returning!
Apr 15, 2025 · Maria VasquezWe attended a beautiful wedding at the Shore Club Inn . The Wedding appetizers were delicious as was our sit down dinner of Filet, roasted potatoes, asparagus spears or sea bass or chicken. There was a wonderful mixed green salad with strawberries, cranberries, glazed walnuts with a light balsamic dressing. The food was delicious. The DJ was great and very entertaining. He made the reception a blast! I am not sure who made the wedding cake but it was scrumptious- white cake with strawberry jam between the layers. There was also an ice cream station which the kids loved. The 2 bar tenders were great and did an outstanding job. Our room was disgusting with black mold on the ceiling. There was only one tiny mirror above the sink in the bathroom to put make up on and my husband had to shave at the same time. The bathroom was filthy when we arrived. There was either vomit or pee on the bathroom door. The bathroom floor was filthy with sand and dirt in the corners. The bed was so high that I had problems just getting up in the bed. I'm 5 foot 5 and I have no idea how someone shorter could get in the bed. Only 1 lamp worked beside the bed. There was a tiny refrigerator in the room. There were no hangers in the room. We could not get the room to cool down as the thermostat must have been broken. The only thing good about the room was the large screen TV. The shower had good water pressure but no hand held wand to keep a Woman's hair from getting soaked. There was no sit down bench in the shower either. This room could not be used as a handicapped room. We always leave a generous tip for the house keeping staff but not this time. My advise is to find other hotel accomodations if you are attending a wedding at The Shore Club Inn. We saw the bridal room at the Shore Club Inn...it was spacious and very nice. There was a private sitting room outside of the bridal room. We had a blast at the wedding and it was a 10 star review for the wedding, reception, dinner, DJ, and seeing family members. But the rooms need a major rehab. We had dinner at Klein's Seafood on Friday night and the food was wonderful. The guitar player was great! We ate breakfast at Marigold's. The food was delicious with generous portions. .
Mar 23, 2025 · Becky MacLeodBRIDE'S BEWARE! My wife and I got married at The Shore Club on 2/21/25. We did a run through of the ceremony the night before and asked if we could reserve the front row for the groom and bride family. They said no reserved signs necessary they would usher the families to the front. At the start of the ceremony they did not do this and my wife's family was scattered throughout the crowd, leaving the mother of the bride alone in the front row. We paid for Steak filet's at the reception and were served a lesser cut in a wellington crust and refused to accommodate food allergies of those who could not have the crust. Also during the reception, at the first round of drinks, their bartender was waving the tip bucket in the groom's face expecting a tip. Everyone tipped throughout the night but the groom and the first round? Finally, the day after, when we went to check out we still tipped the staff hundreds of dollars and asked if we could get the dinners for the 8 guests we paid for but could not attend. We were told no but that we would get a gift card for their sister restaurant for that value. Since then the manager Kiernan and the coordinator Dorina have been ignoring all forms of communication Texts, Calls, and emails trying to get said gift card. I could go on but think long and hard before using The Shore Club as a venue on your special day.
