This hotel is newly renovated, but not well maintained. I remember the renovation in 2022, so you can imagine how shocked I was to find out that it’s already falling apart 3 years later. There are no microwaves in the rooms, which i found extremely odd, but most hotels like this usually make alternative provisions, like providing a general microwave in the lobby that’s accessible for individual use. That’s not the case here, so don’t bother with takeout. The valet though is exceptional. Great service out front. Overall, 3 stars

While the parking is acknowledged as "a bit pricey" (around $69.00 per night), the efficiency and professionalism of the valet team contribute positively to the overall impression.

The Starling Atlanta Midtown distinguishes itself with several unique features that contribute to its character. The hotel's design elements, from the "gold-and-glamorous bird cages" to the "polished marble and plush velvet textures," create a distinctly stylish aesthetic. The "vibrant common areas buzz" with energy, and the hotel often hosts "on-trend events" and pop-up activations, connecting guests to the city's lively pulse, particularly in Lantana, the lobby lounge, which hosts "Live At Lantana" and "Sax Sessions." The hotel was built in 1973 and last renovated in 2021.
One notable feature, though sometimes debated by guests, is the absence of microwaves in individual rooms. While common in some upscale hotels, this can be a consideration for guests planning to bring takeout. The hotel does not currently provide a general microwave in the lobby for individual use, which some guests find "extremely odd." However, some reviews indicate that a microwave can be rented for $25 for the duration of your stay, so guests may inquire about this option. Another aspect frequently mentioned is the pricing of amenities, particularly parking, which can be a significant additional cost. Guests are advised to inquire about all potential fees before booking to avoid surprises. An incidental deposit fee of $100 per night is taken upon check-in in addition to the room and tax for the stay, with a minimum age for check-in being 21.
The hotel is pet-friendly, welcoming up to two dogs (or cats) with a maximum weight of 60 lbs per pet, for an additional non-refundable fee of $150 per stay. Well-behaved pets may be left in rooms unattended, and the hotel provides pet beds, bowls, and treats. There is a grassy area for pet relief on the premises, and waste bags are provided. Service animals are exempt from fees. This feature is appreciated by travelers with furry companions, though guests with allergies should be aware of this policy. While the hotel aims for high standards of cleanliness, some reviews have pointed out areas where maintenance could be improved, despite the relatively recent renovation in 2021. Issues like "falling apart" elements after a short period, non-functional TVs or phones, and empty body wash dispensers have been noted by some guests. Similarly, some guests have mentioned issues with key cards or elevators, suggesting that while the valet service is excellent, other operational aspects may occasionally fall short of expectations.
Despite these occasional concerns, the overall feedback tends to lean positive, with many guests expressing satisfaction with their stay, praising the comfortable rooms, stylish decor, and prime location. The "bed felt like a hug" for one guest, and many appreciate the "minimalist approach to the room decor" and the "beautiful views from the rooms." Room amenities include hypoallergenic bedding, work desks, blackout curtains, flat-screen TVs, hairdryers, toiletries, and alarm clocks. Free WiFi is available throughout the hotel. The hotel also offers accessible rooms with features like wider doors, roll-in showers in some rooms, grab bars, and visual alarms in guest rooms and public hallways.
The Starling Atlanta Midtown, Curio Collection by Hilton, positions itself as a vibrant, upscale escape for creative souls who seek to elevate their urban experience. The hotel's website highlights its commitment to "rethinking the urban experience in every sense," emphasizing "detailed spaces that put the 'art' in 'state of the art'—from its bold decor and see-and-be-seen terrace pool to the sweeping skyline views found in every room." As part of the Curio Collection by Hilton, guests can expect to earn Hilton Honors points, adding value to their stay. The hotel is LGBTQ+ friendly.
For those looking for a lively social scene, the hotel's lobby lounge, Lantana, is promoted as a hub for "on-trend happy hours" and "intimate live performances," connecting guests to the city's pulse. The hotel also emphasizes its suitability for special events, from weddings to corporate gatherings, boasting extensive event spaces and expert event planners. While specific promotional offers may vary by season, the hotel regularly participates in Hilton Honors promotions, offering opportunities for discounts or bonus points. Guests can often find different rate options, such as "Internet Included - Non-refundable," "Internet Included," "Internet Included, Breakfast Included," and "Internet Included, Room Extras," depending on their booking platform and preferences.
In summary, The Starling Atlanta Midtown offers a compelling option for travelers exploring Atlanta. Its central location, stylish environment, comprehensive services, and unique features combine to create a memorable stay, making it a prominent choice when searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in the vibrant city of Atlanta. Its blend of modern luxury and convenient access to Midtown's attractions makes it a desirable destination for both leisure and business travelers.

May 18, 2025 · FranCame to The Starling for a Mother’s Day event. The hotel guest was extremely pleasant and helpful with helping me find my way to my designated location. Nice decor, and bar area. Parking was a bit pricey, but overall experience exceeded my expectations. Will visit again
May 12, 2025 · Cynethia TyeI recently stayed at this hotel for a conference, and while it’s well-equipped for business events, it feels much more like a luxurious getaway spot, definitely giving 'grown and sexy' vibes. The ambiance is elegant and sophisticated—perfect for a romantic weekend. I’m already planning to return with my husband! The hotel features a spa, a stylish bar, and excellent dining options, with even more great restaurants within walking distance. The conference facilities are impressive, but one issue stood out—Elevator G is unsettling and needs attention. Otherwise, a fantastic stay in the Midtown View King Suite!
Mar 27, 2025 · Lottie FergusonI was there for a work conference. Our breakfasts and lunches were served in the Trio Room. It was so dark it was hard to see what was being served. A couple of the elevators seemed more like service elevators. The floor around the bar area was super sticky. The lighting in the room bathroom was poor. One of the bartenders, Marcus I believe, was great. Very friendly. One of the other bartenders seemed bothered to have customers. The decor was….interesting.
May 04, 2025 · Monique KochAbsolutely stunning hotel! Loved the rooms, the glass lift with the views outside, the bar and evening vibes, the pool and cabanas plus the link to the food court at the back. Stayed here with work but ended up extending my stay. Only issue was getting my room turned over, it took me asking several times for it to happen, even though I was technically a new paying guest for my extended stay.
