Convenience not worth it. A room with 2 beds for 3 adults and a toddler was TIGHT! Would have rather had a smaller bathroom and bigger bedroom. No pool, no free breakfast. Half the room is hot and the other cold at night. TVs are NOT smart. Water pressure in shower is poor but it does get super hot. No bathroom vent so anyone else in the room hears and smells your business. Sound from hallway is loud! Not even a good deal on price compared to other hotels in the area. I wouldn't stay here again.

The University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education & Hotel boasts an unparalleled on-campus location within the expansive and picturesque University of Georgia grounds. This setting is ideal for guests attending university-related events, conferences, workshops, or simply visiting students and faculty. Its position on South Lumpkin Street provides easy access to various parts of the UGA campus, including academic buildings, libraries, and athletic facilities. While it's located on campus, it's approximately a 15-20 minute walk to the vibrant downtown Athens area, which is rich with shops, restaurants, music venues like The Georgia Theatre and 40 Watt Club, and the historic Classic Center. The hotel offers a complimentary shuttle service that can transport guests to any destination within a certain radius, including downtown and other campus locations, significantly enhancing its convenience and bridging the distance to Athens' core attractions. The immediate environment is characterized by the academic and natural beauty of the university campus, offering a more serene setting compared to the bustling downtown, yet still providing excellent connectivity. The presence of the campus provides a safe and well-maintained environment for guests.
As a center for continuing education, the facility offers an extensive range of services and amenities, many of which directly benefit hotel guests. The hotel features a 24-hour front desk, ensuring assistance is always available. A standout service is the complimentary shuttle, which provides convenient transportation around Athens, including to downtown, making it easy for guests to explore without needing their own vehicle. On-site dining options are available, including a coffee shop/café for quick bites and beverages, and a restaurant that often caters to conference attendees but is also open to hotel guests. While some guest feedback notes the absence of a free breakfast or a pool, the focus is on providing a functional and accommodating environment for academic and business purposes. The hotel offers a business center, often equipped with computers and printing facilities, and provides free Wi-Fi throughout the property, essential for both academic pursuits and general connectivity. For fitness, a 24-hour fitness center is available, allowing guests to maintain their routines. The core strength of this establishment lies in its conference facilities, featuring numerous meeting rooms and event spaces with modern audiovisual equipment, making it a prime venue for various gatherings. Other services include dry cleaning/laundry services, luggage storage, and a gift shop. The staff is consistently praised in reviews for being super friendly, accommodating, and helpful, contributing significantly to a positive guest experience. The hotel also focuses on accessibility, providing features for guests with mobility needs.
The University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education & Hotel offers 195 guestrooms designed for comfort, though some aspects have received mixed reviews regarding space and amenities. Each room is equipped with air conditioning for climate control. Entertainment is provided via televisions with cable channels, though some guests note that TVs are not "smart TVs." While a standard amenity, the water pressure in showers has been noted as poor by some, though the water does get super hot. Rooms typically include a desk for work and a coffee/tea maker for convenience. The hotel offers various room configurations, including those with two beds. However, some reviews suggest that rooms with two beds might feel "tight" for larger groups (e.g., three adults and a toddler), indicating that room dimensions for certain configurations might be a consideration. The absence of a bathroom vent in some rooms has also been mentioned as a minor inconvenience. Despite these specific points, the rooms are generally maintained to a good standard of cleanliness. Free cribs/infant beds are available on request, and connecting/adjoining rooms may be available, subject to availability. The overall design aims for a functional and comfortable stay, catering to the needs of guests primarily visiting the university or attending events.
The University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education & Hotel is a pet-friendly property. It allows two pets (dogs only) up to 75 lbs each. A non-refundable fee of $75 per stay applies. Service animals are, however, exempt from any fees. Guests bringing pets should confirm specific pet-friendly room availability and any additional guidelines directly with the hotel when booking.
While specific, real-time promotional offers can vary, the University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education & Hotel often appeals to a specific market, and its "promotions" are often tied to its function as a conference center. For individuals attending events at the UGA Center for Continuing Education, booking directly with the hotel might offer specific package deals that include conference registration or special rates. Early booking is highly recommended, especially during peak university events (like graduation, football weekends, or large conferences), as prices tend to increase closer to the event dates. Guest reviews confirm that booking early can lead to "great value." While free breakfast is not typically included, the availability of multiple on-site dining options provides convenience. The complimentary shuttle service is a significant value-add, negating the need for taxi services or personal vehicle use for local exploration. Parking is available on-site, typically for a fee. Guests should confirm the parking rate at the time of booking. The hotel's unique positioning as an on-campus facility, offering direct access to the University of Georgia, is its strongest and most consistent promotional point, appealing to those who prioritize proximity to the university over extensive recreational amenities. Group rates for conferences or events are also likely available upon inquiry.

Apr 16, 2025 · Sarah MasonAmazing hotel, amazing location and fantastic staff! We couldn’t have asked for more from our stay here visiting from the UK. It’s a 15-20 minute walk to downtown and the free shuttle to any destination is a great touch. Everyone we interacted with was super friendly and accommodating. Book early as the prices do seem to creep up closer to the time, but it’s a great value hotel. Highly recommend.
Nov 22, 2024 · Mark BService here was not good. Front desk staff was useless stayed here bc they said they have smart tv’s and it’s anything but that. WiFi was horrible so using phone hotspot. No smart tv. Tried logging into tv to use fire stick or casting and couldn’t. It’s like the hotel has a nice coat of paint on it with the updates, but they didn’t fix the needs of modern day ppl.
Mar 23, 2025 · Laura MaloneI visited Athen to attend the conference. It was so convenient to stay at the hotel. The conference rooms were also in the same building. The restaurant/bar was also a great place to networking with other colleagues during stay. Downtown is only 20 minutes walk. The room is clean and the service is great.
Nov 04, 2024 · KaeMy wife had a convention here for her job.We stayed at the hotel, which was excellent. The room was great. It was clean. The shower is extremely large. The phone even had my wife's name on it. There are lots and lots of places to eat in the surrounding area. Entertainment and bars are abundant. I enjoyed my stay very much, was a little upset we had to leave a day early due to the Hurricane.
