Regarding accommodations, the Watch Hill Inn offers well-appointed rooms and suites. Based on guest feedback, a two-bedroom suite, for example, is described as "very nice and clean." While specific details about all room types are not available, common amenities found in such upscale properties can be expected. Guest rooms feature comfortable beds and effective window treatments that help block out morning light. Modern conveniences such as Nespresso machines are a pleasant surprise for guests, adding a touch of luxury. The bathrooms, while described as acceptable, feature modern lighting and fixtures with dimmer switches, contributing to a refined atmosphere. Air conditioning is present and effective, ensuring guest comfort.
Potential Areas for Consideration:
While the Watch Hill Inn receives high praise for its service and location, some guest feedback points to areas where the experience could be further refined, particularly given its premium pricing. One recurring issue mentioned is the presence of fruit flies throughout the property, including in guest suites. This is an amenity detail that can detract from an otherwise luxurious stay and is an area the hotel may be actively working to address.
Another point raised by guests concerns noise transfer between rooms, with reports of hearing people above them. While this can be a common issue in many hotels, it’s worth noting for those sensitive to noise during their stay. Additionally, while rooms are generally well-equipped, some guests have noted minor details such as visible cabling from mounted televisions, which can appear less polished for a high-end property. A specific instance highlighted a non-functioning in-suite water dispenser in the fridge and a lack of provided bottled water, which can be an inconvenience for guests expecting all amenities to be fully functional.
Check-in experiences have also been cited as an area for potential improvement, with instances of rooms not being ready at the promised time, leading to agitation for some guests. While the staff ultimately resolves these situations, a smoother check-in process would enhance the initial impression.
Promotional Information and Overall Value:
Given its premium positioning in the "Hotels Near Of Me" category, the Watch Hill Inn is an ideal choice for travelers seeking a luxurious and attentive experience in a beautiful coastal setting. The hotel's emphasis on personalized service, with staff like Pringle going the extra mile, truly sets it apart. The stunning location on Bay Street, offering easy access to Watch Hill's charm, is an undeniable draw. Guests consistently praise the service and location as outstanding attributes of the property.
For potential guests considering the Watch Hill Inn, it's important to weigh the exceptional service and prime location against the high cost of a stay. While the hotel offers an undeniably elegant experience, some guests have felt that certain minor details, as mentioned above, detract from what they would expect for a $1500+ per night accommodation. However, for those who prioritize a dedicated, pampered experience and a picturesque setting, the Watch Hill Inn remains a compelling option. The consistent positive feedback on the staff's dedication and the beautiful surroundings suggests that for many, the overall experience is highly rewarding.

May 10, 2025 · Mark DAn overall good property with little issues here and there that really prevent it from being a true five star experience. We visited in peak season (July 2023) and stayed in a two bedroom suite. The service was absolutely exceptional, besides the check-in snafu which I'll get into. For such an expensive room, I did expect a bit more than what was provided. Our room was not ready at the promised time (4 PM) and we were left to roam the property until it was ready for us. We did press the staff around 4:30 to get us into the room and I wonder how long they would have kept us hanging if we didn't show that we were agitated about the situation. Once everything was ready, we were able to park our cars and were escorted up to the room. The suite overall was very nice and clean, the AC worked nicely (a bit loud though) and the Nespresso machine was a nice surprise. The beds were very comfortable and the window treatments did a nice job of blocking out the sunrise. Bathrooms and showers were acceptable, abet a bit dark. Lighting and fixtures were also nice and modern with dimmer switches. Our personal... Assistant (?) I guess you could call him, Pringle, was excellent. A very charismatic and helpful guy, always ready to drive us around or assist with whatever we needed. While I'm not usually a person who likes to be waited on and pampered, Pringle really elevated the experience for us. Small details around the suite hampered our experience which shouldn't have been a thing for such an expensive two night stay. First, the entire property including the Ocean House have a massive fruit fly problem. All over the suite we were swatting fruit flies away. We also continuously heard the people above us stomping and dragging furniture around, up until the late hours of the night. The mounted televisions throughout the suite were cheap and had cabling hanging from the bottom, just a lazy and tacky look. Finally the fridge had a built in water dispenser but it didn't work and no bottled water was provided so we either had to drink from the tap or go out to get bottled water. These aren't things I would expect for a $1500/night stay. I would not stay here again after assessing the stay from start to finish. The location and hospitality is great but it just isn't worth the high cost.
Jul 25, 2023 · Steve DeBellisPremium priced rooms that do not meet my expectations for a luxury facility. Noisey ac units in the rooms made for uncomfortable nights sleep. Great location, with access to the Ocean House facilities and ocean beach is what you're paying for.
Jul 20, 2022 · Steven DelGaudioDisappointed, as a sibling of The Ocean House, we had expectations of superior service in a relaxed atmosphere. First you have to be checked in at the OH, and then escorted to The Inn. We were directed to most difficult parking space in the lot, we asked for another spot, the lot was 90%empty answer was no, finally my wife insisted and we were given a reception spot. The next morning counted 3 cars in a 30spot lot. Made it to our room nice one bedroom suite, however the internet did not work nor the phone in the room. Finishes middle of the road, one sink little shelf space in the bathroom. Through the wall HVAC, no insolation in the walls. This was not worth the over $600 a night rate. Even if the views were memoriable. An over rated souped up motel in a nice location.
Oct 14, 2019 · michael exsteinThe setting is stunning, beautiful. The property and amenities are very good. However the staff is very disappointing. The wait staff in particular was very inattentive. The prices are very high and while the setting and property reflects that the overall service falls well short.
