The motel was cleaner than most (aside from the cigarette stench that seems inevitable in every room) at the rate of $67. However, simple because I refused housekeeping, my family and I were kicked out after only staying 4 days. The establishment seems a bit shady and the front desk lacks empathy and understanding. They’ll let you have a million pets, make half payments on your room, but refusing cleaning? That’s a no no! I could’ve handled the situation better but this janky, cheap, hotel isn’t worth the stress. My family and I were luckily able to switch to a cleaner, quieter, and environmentally friendly environment! The rooms were even bigger and neater. I’d definitely recommend looking around because there are better options for the same price.
Hello there, fellow Georgians! When planning a trip, whether it’s for a quick stop, a visit to local attractions, or extended stays for work, finding accommodation that fits your budget and expectations is always a top priority. Today, we're taking an honest and in-depth look at Americas Best Value Inn Douglasville, a hotel located right here in our community. This article is designed to give you a clear, factual overview of what this hotel offers, taking into account recent customer experiences, to help you make an informed decision for your next stay in Douglasville.
Americas Best Value Inn is a brand often associated with affordability, aiming to provide essential comforts for travelers looking for a budget-friendly option. While value is often a key consideration, recent feedback from guests at this specific Douglasville location highlights some significant challenges. We'll delve into the details, covering its location, services, and what real customers have to say, so you can determine if it aligns with your preferences for a local stay.
Americas Best Value Inn Douglasville is conveniently located at 5481 Westmoreland Plaza, Douglasville, GA 30134, USA. Its position offers straightforward accessibility, especially for travelers utilizing Interstate 20 (I-20). Being near an I-20 exit means easy navigation for guests traveling east towards Atlanta or west towards Alabama. This makes it a practical choice for road trippers or those needing a stopover with quick highway access.
Douglasville itself is a growing suburban city west of Atlanta, offering a mix of local amenities and proximity to major regional attractions. From this location, guests are typically a short drive from various points of interest. Six Flags Over Georgia, a major regional draw, is approximately 10-12 miles away. Sweetwater Creek State Park, offering outdoor recreation like hiking, is also within a reasonable driving distance, around 6 miles. For dining and shopping, Westmoreland Plaza provides immediate access to some options, and larger retail centers like Arbor Place Mall are just a few miles away, providing a wider selection of restaurants, shops, and entertainment venues like movie theaters.
The hotel's setting within Westmoreland Plaza means it's part of a commercial area, which can offer convenience for quick errands or meals. Public transportation options are limited in this area, so having a vehicle is highly recommended for exploring Douglasville and the greater Atlanta metro. The availability of free parking, including truck and bus parking (fees may apply for larger vehicles), adds to the convenience for those traveling by car.
Americas Best Value Inn aims to provide fundamental services for a no-frills, cost-effective stay. Based on general brand standards and public information for this Douglasville location, here are the services typically offered:
However, it is critically important to acknowledge that recent customer reviews highlight severe issues with the actual delivery of these services, particularly concerning room cleanliness ("disgusting," "roaches," "smells like a wet dog," "blood on sheets"), room functionality (non-cooling AC, no warm shower, cracked sink), and front desk conduct (lack of empathy, unresponsiveness, alleged discriminatory behavior, kicking guests out for refusing housekeeping). While the listed services are what the hotel aims to provide, the customer experiences suggest a significant discrepancy.
The main features and highlights of Americas Best Value Inn Douglasville, based on typical brand offerings and some positive aspects that can be gleaned despite the negative reviews, center around its budget-friendly nature and basic conveniences:
Despite these potential highlights, the overwhelming and severe negative feedback from recent customers significantly impacts the overall perceived value and experience. Issues such as uncleanliness, lack of maintenance, and poor customer service are critical factors that overshadow the intended features. Guests explicitly mention "cigarette stench," "roaches," non-functional amenities, and being "kicked out" for refusing housekeeping, leading to descriptions like "janky, cheap, hotel isn’t worth the stress" and "came straight from hell." These are not isolated incidents but reflect a concerning pattern of customer dissatisfaction.
As part of the Americas Best Value Inn brand, which is now affiliated with Sonesta, this hotel may participate in various promotions and discounts offered by the larger hotel group or through online travel agencies. To find the most current and beneficial offers, it's advisable to check the Sonesta website, as well as popular booking platforms like Kayak, Trip.com, Hotels.com, or Priceline. Common types of promotions you might encounter include:
Given the significant negative customer feedback, potential guests should also look for flexible cancellation policies when booking, even with a promotion, to protect themselves in case the actual experience does not meet even basic expectations.

For residents across Georgia, particularly in the Douglasville area, Americas Best Value Inn offers a budget-conscious option for various needs. If you're a local dealing with a home renovation, need a temporary place to stay during an unexpected family event, or are hosting out-of-town guests who are strictly on a tight budget, the affordability of this hotel might seem appealing. Its easy access to I-20 is undeniably convenient for commuters or those needing quick access to Atlanta or other parts of Georgia.
The hotel's pet-friendly policy is a notable plus for locals who travel with their furry family members, a feature not universally offered by all accommodations. However, it is absolutely crucial for any local considering this hotel to be fully aware of the severe and consistent negative feedback from recent guests. Reports of pervasive cleanliness issues, including unsanitary conditions and foul odors, coupled with unresponsive or even hostile front desk interactions, indicate that the fundamental promise of a comfortable and clean stay might not be met. While the low price point is a factor, the reviews strongly suggest that the potential stress, discomfort, and health concerns could outweigh any perceived savings. For locals, while the location offers convenience, the current state of guest satisfaction reported by recent customers makes it essential to consider if the lowest price is truly the best value when it comes to basic comfort and peace of mind.

Apr 05, 2025 · Imani CaldwellI would’ve left no stars at all for America’s best hotel in Douglasville. But I was not given that option so I guess I will give them one star. The air conditioner was not cooling low enough so my room was hot. I went to the front office to tell The owner of the hotel that me and my wife were not comfortable in our room that it was too hot and we were not able to get to sleep with it being so warm. She told me straight to my face, looking me died in my eyes that NO she would not give me another room. There is probably 15 cars in the parking lot so there’s plenty of rooms. Available. They just do not care about their customers at all. The shower doesn’t get warm either in my room, the place has roaches, my sink is cracked, It’s a wonder how it’s not leaking straight on the floor, The carpet in front of my door is soaking wet. My room smells like a wet dog. Save yourself the money and do not stay in this hotel that came straight from hell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
May 27, 2025 · Blake Edwards!!!READ THE REVIEWS!!! I WISH I DID!! The police were called on me for simply trying to reason with the staff for wrongfully accusing me of being disrespectful and rude to their staff. I was grilled with questions, the woman (supposed manager) was very nonchalant and inconsiderate. I expressed to the “manager” that if it was made clear that cleaning was MANDATORY or else we’d be “kicked out” I would have either canceled my booking or sucked it up. It never would’ve been a big deal. I pride myself on having strong values and integrity. Not only was I accused of something I didn’t do, I was completely disregarded as if I’m not a human being and a paying customer. I told there must’ve been some miscommunication between her staff and I but she wasn’t trying to hear me. She told me I had to leave SAME day because she didn’t want her staff to “deal with me” as if I had done something horrid. If she pulled the cameras, she’d see I never even spoke face to face with housekeeping to be “rude”. I’d always say “I don’t need housekeeping today thank you” without opening the door; I don’t even like having constant interactions with strangers without my husband home. I definitely had some rude things to say towards the end of the conversation with the manager because she thinks she’s untouchable and she can speak to other adults any way she pleases. All I know is, the refund best be on the way or there will be an even bigger issue, I will get “the law” involved myself if I have to. The police were called (impulsively) but when they arrived they informed me that I was owed a refund for the termination of the remainder of my stay so if that agreement isn’t reached, they will know my name very well. Also, I feel much better knowing my family and I aren’t the only ones to experience such treatment at this location. This is the ONLY hotel/motel I’ve stayed where they REQUIRE room cleaning. Most places I’ve stayed make it clear that you’re only entitled one housekeeping day if you stay weekly..which is also the reason I was confused as to why I needed housekeeping to enter my room TWICE when I had only been there for four days anyway. I moved to a motel close by that’s much neater and I haven’t had housekeeping once, aside from getting the room vacuumed. I made sure to ask if housekeeping is MANDATORY, but like most places, the service is optional and not forced upon customers. Also, this new motel I am staying at doesn’t allow pets which is a breath of fresh air anyways.
Apr 09, 2025 · Imani CaldwellI visited this hotel over 6 months ago and they had roach problems. I had to request different rooms without bugs! The owner knows me from complaining about bugs , previously. I was told tonight after I called and spoke with an agent about the bugs! She stated that she was sure they had no bugs. I Told her my name and how much I complained about the roaches before. We stayed here on a 2/3 day week for over 6 months. So once I arrived to the property I was told bye my husband the room #. So I stopped at the office to inquiry again about the bugs and I also told her I know the owners and I was the one calling earlier regarding the bugs!
Feb 27, 2025 · Demetria McKinneyThe hotel is okay it’s clean . Theres always people outside walking and on the balcony. I was only there for a couple hours on a rainy day so I used a towel to clean off some mud from my shoes and left the towel there not thinking it was a big deal . I was charged $30 for stained towels and to me it was not fair bc it was two small towels and mud comes off with a wash . I talked to the owner he said he was willing to refund half but apparently you sign to pay for any damage and leaving a dirty towel is considered damage . I paid two rooms and barely even used anything because we were only there for a couple of hours . Staff was nice too we just had that little hiccup .
