Pros- The location was perfect, lots of places within walking distance. I didn't feel like I was gonna get robbed outside which is a big bonus for safety . Easy to find. The staff was super friendly and attempted to help my request for an extra pillow and towel. I was told they didn't have anymore so I was only given one paper thin pillow. Cons- the beds and pillows were cardboard like,So uncomfortable. There was an outdoor light pointed directly into my window, which isn't a big deal if the curtains weren't broken and closed properly or maybe didn't have an inch of dust. They do get points for the cleanliness of their coffee pots... There would more more points if they rinsed the soap out before adding the coffee. Now the pool, they have a pool and hot tub. My kids were so excited, my oldest lasted about 6 minutes. He got out when he found the dirty bandaid floating in the water. My youngest lastest 8 minutes. That's when I realized it wasn't bubbles in the hot tub and actually a layer of sludge made of dead skin and hair that stuck to my feet as I tried to not throw up directly into the hotub.

Anchorage Inn Introduce

For individuals searching the "Hotels Near Of Me" platform in the South Burlington, Vermont area, the Anchorage Inn, located at 108 Dorset Street, South Burlington, VT 05403, USA, offers a budget-conscious option with a highly desirable location. Reachable via phone at (802) 863-7000 or mobile at +1 802-863-7000, this hotel aims to provide straightforward accommodation with core amenities, appealing to travelers prioritizing location and value.

The environment of the Anchorage Inn is a significant advantage, particularly for its accessibility and proximity to key South Burlington destinations. Situated on Dorset Street, the hotel boasts a "perfect location," with "lots of places within walking distance." It is exceptionally close to Burlington International Airport (BTV), making it a convenient choice for air travelers. Crucially, it is also "about 5 minutes from the hospital," referring to the University of Vermont Medical Center, which is a major benefit for those visiting relatives or seeking medical care. Furthermore, the hotel is near major academic institutions such as the University of Vermont and Champlain College, making it suitable for university-related visits. The immediate surroundings offer a bustling shopping district, including the University Mall (adjacent to the hotel) and various dining establishments like McDonald's, Applebee's, and IHOP within a short walk. This commercial setting ensures guests have easy access to necessities and entertainment without needing extensive travel. Despite its location within a commercial area, some guests have described the hotel as "quiet," suggesting a generally manageable noise level within rooms. The strategic placement offers a balance of urban convenience and relative ease of navigation, which is a strong selling point for those using "Hotels Near Of Me" to find practical lodging.

The services at the Anchorage Inn are designed to provide fundamental conveniences for its guests. The staff, particularly the front desk personnel, are consistently praised for being "super friendly," "welcoming and friendly," and attempting to "help my request for an extra pillow and towel." This indicates a general commitment to customer service, even when faced with resource limitations. A key service offered is the complimentary continental breakfast, which guests often appreciate, noting it as "fine and appreciated" and comprising items like coffee, tea, juice, cereal, fruit, yogurt, and doughnuts. Complimentary Wi-Fi access is available throughout the property, both in public areas and in rooms, allowing guests to stay connected. The hotel operates a 24-hour front desk, ensuring that staff are available at all times for check-in, check-out, and assistance. While not explicitly detailed in the provided reviews, hotels of this type typically offer daily housekeeping service, although one reviewer raised concerns about the consistency of room cleanliness. The presence of a laundry room, described as "decent," offers a practical amenity for guests, particularly those on longer stays. The hotel also features a front-desk safe for securing valuables, luggage storage, and ATM/banking services. However, it's worth noting that the hotel does not appear to offer airport shuttle service, as one guest mentioned the hotel sent an Uber when a driver was unavailable, covering the cost. This proactive problem-solving, while appreciated, indicates a reliance on third-party services for transportation.

The features of the Anchorage Inn cater to guests seeking basic comforts and amenities. Guest rooms include a 27-inch TV with satellite channels (including CNN, HBO, and ESPN), a microwave, refrigerator, and coffee maker, providing essential conveniences for in-room dining and storage. Rooms also feature free local calls, an in-room safe (laptop compatible), a desk, and air conditioning. Some room types, like the Kitchenette Room, offer a more expansive setup with a private kitchenette, sink, and more extensive cooking facilities. The hotel also provides pillowtop beds in its rooms, though guest perception of comfort may vary, with one reviewer describing them as "cardboard like" and "uncomfortable." For recreation, the hotel features an indoor heated pool and a hot tub. However, a significant drawback noted in a review is the cleanliness of these facilities, with alarming descriptions of a "dirty bandaid floating" in the pool and a "layer of sludge made of dead skin and hair" in the hot tub, suggesting a need for substantial improvement in pool area maintenance. A fitness center with cardio equipment is also available for guests to use. The property includes a garden and picnic area for outdoor enjoyment. Other features include a lobby fireplace, providing a welcoming atmosphere, and free self-parking on site, including off-street options, which is beneficial for guests with vehicles. While the hotel does not have an elevator, which may pose a challenge for guests with mobility issues, connecting/adjoining rooms are available upon request. These features aim to provide a functional and generally comfortable stay, despite some reported inconsistencies in upkeep.

In terms of promotional information, the Anchorage Inn would primarily highlight its key strengths to attract guests through the "Hotels Near Of Me" platform. The hotel's "perfect location" in South Burlington, with its close proximity to Burlington International Airport, the University of Vermont Medical Center, University Mall, and major colleges, would be a dominant selling point, emphasizing convenience for various travel purposes. The "super friendly" and welcoming staff would be a core message, leveraging positive feedback on customer service. The inclusion of a "free complimentary breakfast" would be a significant draw for value-conscious travelers. The availability of amenities such as an indoor heated pool, hot tub, and fitness center would also be promoted, although potential guests might want to verify current conditions. The provision of free Wi-Fi and ample free parking would be highlighted as practical benefits. The hotel might also promote its varied room types, including kitchenette rooms, to cater to different needs and budgets. While the hotel might face challenges in marketing certain aspects based on negative reviews (e.g., pool cleanliness, bed comfort, noise management), its promotional strategy would focus on its core value proposition: providing a convenient, accessible, and generally affordable stay in South Burlington. Testimonials highlighting the "good value" and positive staff interactions would be selectively used to build confidence among potential guests, aiming to attract those who prioritize location and basic amenities at a competitive price point in the Burlington area.

I cannot recommend this hotel after our recent two-night stay. Both nights, our sleep was severely disrupted by loud, intoxicated individuals in the adjacent room. The first disturbance occurred at 3:30 AM, keeping us awake for well over an hour. After management initially asked them to quiet down, we had to call the front desk a second time because they began playing loud music. Hotel staff confirmed some these people weren't even registered guests and told me the noisy neighbors would be asked to leave if the noise persisted. After the first incident, management offered a 20% discount on our stay, which we appreciated. However, the same situation occurred the following night at 2:30 AM, again keeping us awake for over an hour. What was most disappointing was the aftermath. It took multiple days of persistent calling to finally reach a manager. When I did, they were rude and refused any additional compensation, implying we should have expected the second disturbance since our room was already discounted from the first incident. This dismissive and unprofessional attitude punctuated an already very disappointing experience. The hotel's inability to maintain a peaceful environment for two consecutive nights and failure to enforce their own rules, coupled with their poor customer service, makes it impossible for me to recommend this establishment to others seeking a restful stay. Is a 20% discount enough for you to be woken each night in such a manner when you plan to wake at 6:30am to go skiing?

The staff here is very welcoming and super friendly. In the morning they have donuts granola bars and a few other treats along with coffee water and juice. The room is a good size. The bath tub is nice and deep. The pool is big and has the perfect section for smaller kids. Plus the location is good.

This hotel is in a very good spot. About 10-15 minutes from downtown Burlington. As for the rooms themselves, they are very dated. The rooms were clean, but clearly were in need of some TLC. The carpets had odd stains and the bathroom was just so teeny tiny. The staff was kind and the pool and hot tub were great. Overall, for the price, this was a good hotel.

The Anchorage Inn is a great place to stay if you are not looking for fancy or frills. The facility is dated however clean and conveniently located. The staff is friendly and accommodating and the price point is spot on! I have stayed in other locations while in town to drop off/pick up our son from UVM, however I plan on returning to the Anchorage the next time back in Burlington.
