Good value for the price, but our room was dirty and didn’t have enough pillows or towels, even though they knew we would have four adults staying in the room. They also only gave us two keycards even though there were four of us. There was mold in the bathroom, the carpets look like they haven’t been vacuumed in a long time, and the whole place just feels like the cleaning staff is overwhelmed. I don’t know how anyone is leaving reviews saying this place is clean. Some reviews have complained about the lack of lighting in the pool area, but we thought it actually gave the pool area nice ambience at night. The pool itself has lighting, there’s just no overhead lighting so the room is very dark. This might be a safety concern if you have children, but we were four adults, so we were fine. The pool also didn’t have towels. It’s not a walkable neighborhood, and you will have to drive to get to any restaurants or activities. They also keep all of the doors locked except the front door, which makes sense for security reasons, but can be inconvenient depending on where your room is. This place is about equal to a Motel 6, but dirtier, and with a pool and free breakfast. It’s a trade off, but you get what you pay for.

Baymont Inn & Suites by Wyndham Madison Introduce

For many Wisconsin residents, Madison is a central hub for various activities, from professional engagements and visiting family to attending concerts and major events. When traveling to the state capital, finding the right place to stay is an important part of planning. Baymont Inn & Suites by Wyndham Madison is one of the many options available to travelers seeking lodging in the area. Like any hotel, it has its own unique set of offerings and guest experiences that are worth considering. For locals from surrounding areas like Milwaukee, Appleton, or even Janesville, understanding what to expect from a stay can help in making an informed decision about where to book their next trip to Madison. This overview aims to provide a clear, factual look at the hotel, drawing from public information and guest feedback to paint a complete picture.

The hotel is located at 2810 Coho St, Madison, WI 53713, USA. This address places it in a specific part of the city that is accessible by car. It is situated off the Beltline Highway, a major thoroughfare that encircles much of the Madison area. For those familiar with the city, this location means you will likely need to drive to reach most destinations. Guest feedback confirms that it is not in a walkable neighborhood, so accessing restaurants, shops, or local attractions will require a vehicle. This is an important detail for Wisconsinites planning their trip, as it affects transportation needs and plans. While the proximity to the Beltline offers easy access to different parts of the city by car, it’s not ideal for those who prefer to explore on foot. This location is primarily suited for visitors who have their own transportation or are planning to use rideshare services for all their outings. The locked doors at all entrances except the front, while intended for security, can also be a point of inconvenience depending on where your room is located within the building.

Baymont Inn & Suites by Wyndham Madison offers a range of services designed to provide a comfortable stay. Like other hotels in its category, it aims to deliver key amenities that guests have come to expect. Based on guest feedback, these services include:

  • A swimming pool, which is a key feature for many travelers, especially families.
  • Free breakfast, providing a convenient way for guests to start their day without an extra expense.
  • The option for late checkout, though guest experiences with this service have been inconsistent and challenging.
  • The hotel is accessible to those with vehicles, being located off a major highway.

Guest experiences with these services have been varied. For instance, the swimming pool is available, but guests have noted a lack of overhead lighting, which some have found to be an ambience-enhancing feature while others have pointed out it could be a safety concern, particularly for children. Additionally, a lack of towels at the pool has been mentioned. The free breakfast is a standard offering, but its quality or variety is not detailed in the provided information. The hotel also has an advertised late checkout policy, but reviews highlight significant issues with staff communication and consistency regarding this service, which can lead to frustration for guests.

Based on guest feedback, several features and highlights of the hotel are worth noting for potential visitors. These points provide a more detailed look into the guest experience at Baymont Inn & Suites by Wyndham Madison.

  • The price point is a factor, as guests have described it as offering "good value for the price," despite other issues.
  • A swimming pool is available for guests, providing a recreational option on-site.
  • The pool area has a unique ambiance at night due to the lack of overhead lighting, which some guests may find appealing.
  • The hotel offers a complimentary breakfast, which is a convenient and cost-saving amenity.
  • A security measure of keeping all doors locked except the main entrance is in place.
  • The hotel is situated in an area that is easily accessible by car, thanks to its proximity to the West Beltline Highway.

However, it is important for potential guests to be aware of other points highlighted in reviews. These include issues with cleanliness, such as dirty rooms, unvacuumed carpets, and mold in the bathroom. There have also been mentions of rooms lacking basic supplies like enough pillows and towels for the number of guests. Staff professionalism and communication have been a significant concern in some reviews, with guests reporting rude and confusing interactions, particularly around policies like late checkout. These mixed reviews indicate that while the hotel may offer a pool and free breakfast, guests should set their expectations accordingly regarding cleanliness and customer service.

For those needing to contact the hotel for reservations or information, the contact details are provided.

This information can be used to inquire about room availability, amenities, and other details directly with the hotel. However, based on some guest feedback, it may be advisable to confirm all details and policies in writing to avoid potential misunderstandings, especially regarding specific requests like late checkout.

For locals in Wisconsin, Baymont Inn & Suites by Wyndham Madison may be suitable for a specific type of traveler. It appears to be a budget-friendly option for those whose primary concern is a low price point and who require access to a car for all their travel within the city. The on-site pool and free breakfast are amenities that some travelers may find appealing. However, based on multiple guest reviews, it is essential for prospective visitors to be aware of potential issues with cleanliness and staff interactions. For a short stay where the primary need is a place to sleep and a key is a pool and breakfast, it might meet the basic requirements. However, for those who prioritize a spotless room and professional, consistent customer service, the provided guest feedback suggests this hotel may not be the best choice. Ultimately, the suitability of this hotel for a local depends on their personal priorities and what they value most in a lodging experience. The provided reviews highlight a trade-off between price and the quality of the stay, which is a crucial consideration for anyone planning a visit to Madison.

I stayed here with my mom while we were in town for a concert, and I really wish we had picked a different hotel. The room was disgusting — the floors were dirty, and the sink and shower were completely backed up. It felt gross just being in there. But the worst part was how the front desk treated us. My mom is a high-level Wyndham member and got a message offering a 3 PM late checkout for $50. When she asked about it, the front desk said they didn’t know anything about it. Once she showed them proof, they finally agreed and charged her the $50. Then everything got messy. We got a call saying we had to leave by 1 PM, even though we paid for 3 PM. After we pushed back, they said they’d refund the $50 — but we still had to leave early. Then they called AGAIN saying they’d charge us $25 for a 1 PM checkout. It felt like they were just making things up as they went. The front desk staff was rude, confusing, and totally unprofessional. My mom is a hotel general manager, and I’ve seen how hard she works to make sure her guests feel respected and taken care of. This place was the complete opposite of that. Honestly, don’t stay here. It’s not clean, they don’t stick to their own offers, and they clearly don’t know how to treat guests.

I am not all that picky but this place was horrible. I got new towels… most days, my bed was never made, the room was dirty, the whole place smelled like feet, my bedding was just a duvet cover with flat sheets covering. My lock was broken in my bathroom. Truly it was not good. Felt like a motel. Spend the extra money and stay somewhere else. I firmly believe I should get some of my money back

Disgusting Room + Unreliable Service = Never Again Our stay at this hotel was incredibly disappointing. The room was dirty — the floors hadn’t been cleaned, and both the sink and shower were clogged. Basic cleanliness wasn’t even met, which is unacceptable. The service at the front desk was just as bad. I received a message directly from Wyndham offering a $50 late checkout at 3 PM. The front desk staff claimed they had no idea about the offer, but once I showed them the message, they reluctantly agreed. Unfortunately, it only got worse from there. I was charged the $50, then told I’d have to leave by 1 PM because “housekeeping required it.” After pushing back, I was told I’d be refunded. A little while later, they called again and said they’d charge me $25 for a 1 PM checkout instead. The staff kept changing their story, and it felt like they were making up policies on the spot. My wife is a general manager of a hotel, and I can say with confidence that this kind of behavior is completely unacceptable in hospitality. The staff was disorganized, unprofessional, and clearly not trained to provide even basic customer service. Do not stay here. Between the filthy conditions and the dishonest handling of a simple late checkout, this place is not worth your time or money. We are high level Wyndham members and the way we were treated. We will be making formal complaints to Wyndham. This will not be tolerated.

Extremely Disappointed – Poor Cleanliness & Unprofessional Staff As a high-level Wyndham Rewards member and a hotel general manager myself, I hold hospitality to a high standard—and this property fell shockingly short. We only stayed here because we were in town for a concert and no where else had availability. The room was in unacceptable condition: the floors were filthy, and both the sink and shower were clogged and didn’t drain properly. On top of that, the front desk staff was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional throughout our stay. I received an official Wyndham message offering a $50 late checkout at 3 PM. When I mentioned this to the front desk, they initially claimed it wasn’t valid. Only after showing them the message did they reluctantly agree. Then the confusion began: • I was charged the $50, but shortly after, I was told I had to leave by 1 PM because “housekeeping said so.” • After objecting, I was told the $50 would be refunded—but I still had to leave at 1. • Then, another call: I would now be charged $25 for a 1 PM checkout. This back-and-forth was not only confusing, but completely unacceptable. It’s clear the staff is not trained to uphold Wyndham’s own policies, and customer service is not a priority here. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. The lack of cleanliness alone should be a reason for serious concern. If my staff ever treated guests the way we were treated here, they would not remain employed. Wyndham should seriously reconsider its association with this property.
