Our main AC unit was broken but there was at least a back up one that was placed alongside the original. But the back up AC kept cutting out every two hours. The bathtub didn’t drain properly, so there would end up being stagnant water while showering. There was mold and hair both in and outside of the tub. It needed a proper deep clean. Less than an hour into breakfast already many items are gone. Muffins/bread, cream cheese, Greek yogurt and just nothing to refill it with. One day just no fruit at all. Staff was nice and apologetic but ultimately still very poor availability of items The pillows were super old and all the stuffing had clumped up within them which made them very lumpy and uncomfortable. The area rugs and stair runners in the lobby were so stained and looked like they had never been cleaned. The carpets throughout the rest of the hotel were also very dirty and grimy. The AC in the main lobby was broken and it was very hot throughout the common areas of the hotel. The hot tub was fine. Staff only provides room service upon request. I understand not replacing the linens everyday but trash should/needs to be taken out daily and there should be a general tidy up. The rooms seemed overpriced for what we received. We paid $200 a night x2 and have stayed at much cleaner/better managed hotels for cheaper.
For those navigating the Finger Lakes region and searching for "Hotels Near Of Me," the Best Western Palmyra Inn & Suites, located at 955 Canandaigua Rd, Palmyra, NY 14522, USA, may appear as an option. The hotel operates under the well-known Best Western brand, which typically signifies a certain level of standardized quality and service. For direct communication, the hotel can be reached at (315) 597-8888 or via mobile at +1 315-597-8888.
Environment and Location:
The Best Western Palmyra Inn & Suites is situated on Canandaigua Road, suggesting a location that offers vehicular accessibility rather than a bustling downtown setting. Palmyra itself is a historical area, known for its connections to the Erie Canal and Latter-day Saint history, including sites like the Hill Cumorah and the Book of Mormon Publication Site. While the hotel's immediate surroundings might be more suburban or rural in feel, its location provides convenient access to these historical attractions, as well as being within driving distance of other Finger Lakes destinations and possibly the Finger Lakes Casino & Race Track.
However, according to recent guest feedback, the interior environment, particularly the common areas, seems to be a significant concern. Descriptions such as "area rugs and stair runners in the lobby were so stained and looked like they had never been cleaned," and "the carpets throughout the rest of the hotel were also very dirty and grimy," paint a picture of a facility that may be struggling with cleanliness and upkeep in public spaces. The mention of "the AC in the main lobby was broken and it was very hot throughout the common areas of the hotel" further contributes to an impression of a less-than-optimal environment, suggesting a lack of maintenance in critical comfort systems. For guests whose primary concern is the overall presentation and cleanliness of a hotel, these points of feedback indicate that the common areas may fall short of expectations typically associated with a Best Western property.
Services and Features:
The Best Western Palmyra Inn & Suites offers a range of services and features that are common to hotels in its class, aiming to provide a functional stay. These include a complimentary full breakfast, typically offering items like scrambled eggs, sausage patties, and a waffle maker, along with some fruit and baked goods. However, guest reviews indicate that the breakfast offerings can be inconsistent and limited, with items often running out quickly and not being replenished. For instance, reports mention "many items are gone," such as "muffins/bread, cream cheese, Greek yogurt," and "one day just no fruit at all." While a waffle maker is a positive, the overall breakfast experience seems to be "pretty pitiful" for some, with cold eggs and very few options.
In terms of in-room amenities, guests can generally expect air conditioning, though one review noted issues with a "main AC unit... broken" and a backup unit that "kept cutting out every two hours." Heating also proved problematic for one guest, with the unit "never did" come on beyond the fan function. Basic toiletries like shampoo and conditioner appear to be provided, but in "tiny bottle" and in limited quantities for families. The presence of a "hot tub" is mentioned as functional, providing a potential leisure option. Room service for cleaning is "upon request," with guests noting that "trash should/needs to be taken out daily and there should be a general tidy up," suggesting a basic level of housekeeping that may not meet all guest expectations for daily attention.
Other general features of a Best Western property usually include free Wi-Fi, a 24-hour front desk, and possibly a fitness center. However, the reliability of the Wi-Fi has been described as "very choppy and not reliable" by guests. A significant concern raised by multiple guests relates to the quality of the bedding, with pillows described as "super old and all the stuffing had clumped up within them which made them very lumpy and uncomfortable." Towels are also noted as "super thin and rough to the touch." Room maintenance issues extend to bathrooms, with a "bathtub didn’t drain properly" and reports of "mold and hair both in and outside of the tub," indicating a lack of "proper deep clean." Furthermore, soundproofing appears to be an issue, as "the walls are paper thin, we could clearly hear the television blasting from the next room and at other times, people talking."
Promotional Information:
As a Best Western property, the Best Western Palmyra Inn & Suites participates in the Best Western Rewards loyalty program, which allows guests to earn points for stays and redeem them for future accommodations or other benefits. While no specific promotions are detailed in the provided reviews, Best Western hotels frequently offer seasonal discounts, package deals, and special rates for loyalty program members. Potential guests searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in the Palmyra area might be drawn to this property due to its brand recognition and the perception of a consistent standard.
The hotel's primary promotional points, despite the issues raised by guests, would likely include its "cheap" pricing, its location convenient for accessing local historical sites, and the provision of amenities like a hot tub and complimentary breakfast. The official Best Western website and various online travel agencies would be the best sources for current pricing and any active promotional offers. However, the recurring theme in reviews suggests that guests often feel the "rooms seemed overpriced for what we received," with some stating they "paid $200 a night x2 and have stayed at much cleaner/better managed hotels for cheaper." This indicates a potential mismatch between perceived value and actual guest experience.
Objective Introduction Based on Information:
The Best Western Palmyra Inn & Suites, located at 955 Canandaigua Rd, Palmyra, NY 14522, USA, is a lodging option for travelers searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in the Palmyra area. It offers typical Best Western amenities such as complimentary breakfast and a hot tub, and its location provides access to local historical sites. The hotel can be contacted at (315) 597-8888.
However, based on multiple recent customer reviews, prospective guests should be aware of significant concerns regarding the hotel's cleanliness, maintenance, and overall guest experience. Common areas, including the lobby and carpets throughout the hotel, have been described as "stained," "dirty," and "grimy," suggesting a lack of thorough cleaning and upkeep. Issues with air conditioning in both common areas and individual rooms have been reported, as have problems with plumbing, such as bathtubs that do not drain properly and show signs of "mold and hair."
Room comfort is also a frequently cited issue, with "super old" and "lumpy" pillows, and "super thin and rough" towels. Heating in rooms has been unreliable for some guests, and Wi-Fi connectivity is described as "choppy and not reliable." The complimentary breakfast, while offered, is often perceived as "pitiful," with limited options that run out quickly and are not replenished. Housekeeping services are noted as "upon request" and may not include daily trash removal or general tidying, which some guests expect.
Furthermore, guests have reported thin walls leading to noise disturbances from adjacent rooms. Despite being a Best Western property, some guests feel the pricing is "overpriced for what we received," especially when compared to cleaner or better-managed hotels at a lower cost. While some guests acknowledge it's a "cheap" option where "you get what you pay for," the detailed feedback suggests that the value proposition may not always align with guest expectations for even a budget-friendly stay.
Therefore, while the Best Western Palmyra Inn & Suites is geographically positioned for convenience in the Palmyra area, guests searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" should manage their expectations regarding the condition of the property, the consistency of its amenities, and the overall quality of their stay. It appears to be a property that may appeal more to those prioritizing a very low price point and who are prepared to overlook significant maintenance and cleanliness shortcomings.

May 20, 2025 · Ryan FitznerMy family and I stay at this location because it's cheap, I guess you get what you pay for. The rooms are not very clean and the towels are super thin and rough to the touch. Hotels are known for their comfy pillows, but I guess this inn missed the memo. The heating was not working in our room and so we called the front desk to complain. The man who answered said that it takes a while for the heat to come on, it never did. Only the fan came on. Their wifi was very choppy and not reliable. They were very stingy with the shampoo and conditioner, they only had one tiny bottle of both for my family. The walls are paper thin, we could clearly hear the television blasting from the next room and at other times, people talking. The breakfast was pretty pitiful, there were only 3 tiny banana muffins, no pastries, croissants or yogurt. They offered scrambled eggs, which were a little cold and sausage patties. They had a waffle maker, which to their credit, was pretty good. The only fruit they offered were a few apples. While we ate, there were several utility workers eating as well. I don't know why they were there because obviously they were not guests. If you don't mind a mediocre but inexpensive motel, then this motel is for you.
May 08, 2025 · Arrow 67Don't make the mistake of booking a room at this motel. This is one of the WORST motels I have ever experienced. The rooms were out of date. The bathroom sinks are the smallest I have ever seen. The rooms were not cleaned. On our second day I requested that our room be cleaned. It wasn't touched. We had to request clean towels at the front desk. The service was abysmal. They ran out of food at breakfast. What they had was low quality. The bread and bagels were stale. I suppose people stay here because of its proximity to church sites. It would be well worth the drive to go elsewhere.
May 11, 2025 · MIchael F RedzichAmazing waffles great location spacious rooms microwave fridge those fridges could fit a turkey the hotel was very comfortable in the Palmyra area I wish the hot tub would’ve been open. Cleaning of the bathroom floor could’ve been better. All in all the best hotel in Palmyra NY. Sacred grove, Book of Mormon Printing press, church sites.
Apr 23, 2025 · Joshua IversonGreat location, but that’s where the good qualities end. The pictures online are nothing like it is in person. The room was clean, but in disrepair. The walls were scuffed and had two-toned paint like someone got tired halfway through the job. The bathroom fixtures were mismatched and ill-fitting. Our comforter was stained with something that looks like blood. Breakfast was a disappointment. Even powdered eggs shouldn’t taste that bad. All in all it seems like a money grab at people visiting historical sites. I would not recommend you stay unless they lower their prices to fit their expenses.
