Staff was friendly and they were eager to assist upon my arrival. They honored my Bonvoy status and provided me with a room upgrade with a view of the New England Aquarium. The M Club was nice and clean and the room was spacious as well. Hotel is currently undergoing updates, but did not cause much interruption outside of a few noises. Definitely a great place to stay and will return here for my next business trip to Boston

The environment of the Boston Marriott Long Wharf is designed to offer a blend of comfort, functionality, and classic elegance. The hotel is situated on Boston's historic Long Wharf, providing guests with picturesque views of the harbor and the New England Aquarium, often directly from their rooms. The architecture of the building, a long, seven-story brick structure, has been likened to a "cruise ship moored perpendicularly to the harbor," with a design that creates many lateral water views. The hotel has recently undergone significant updates, aiming to provide a refreshed and modern experience. While these updates might occasionally cause "a few noises," guests generally note that they do not cause "much interruption." The overall ambiance is clean and well-maintained, creating a comfortable and inviting atmosphere for both leisure and business travelers.
The services at Boston Marriott Long Wharf are frequently highlighted as a strong point. The staff is consistently described as "friendly," "eager to assist upon arrival," and "very prompt," particularly with room service. The front desk staff is noted for being "very friendly" and accommodating, even for early bag drop-offs before check-in. The hotel generally honors Marriott Bonvoy status, with some guests receiving room upgrades with desirable views, such as that of the New England Aquarium. Other key services include a 24-hour front desk, daily housekeeping, and luggage storage. Valet parking is available, though it comes with a daily fee. The hotel also provides express check-in/check-out services and a business center for corporate guests. Complimentary amenities typically include free Wi-Fi in guest rooms and public areas. However, it's worth noting that a destination fee is applied, which can be a point of contention for some guests who feel compelled to utilize its benefits to avoid perceived waste.
The features of the Boston Marriott Long Wharf are designed to cater to a diverse range of guests. The rooms themselves are generally described as "spacious" and "very clean," providing everything needed for a comfortable stay. Many rooms offer "stunning city or harbor views." Standard room amenities include a flat-screen TV with cable channels (including HBO and Netflix), an iPod docking station, an iron/ironing board, and a work desk. Beds are equipped with "luxury linens" and "premium bedding," ensuring a comfortable night's sleep. Some rooms are also allergy-friendly. However, some guest feedback has pointed out concerns regarding bathroom functionality, specifically issues with sink water temperature control (only freezing cold or scalding hot) and privacy concerns with barn doors in the bathroom that have gaps. There were also instances of construction outside windows not being communicated, leading to privacy concerns for guests.
A significant feature for eligible Marriott Bonvoy members is the M Club. This "two-story members-only M Club Lounge" offers "views of Boston's bustling waterfront" and provides exclusive perks such as breakfast (Monday to Friday from 6:30 AM to 10:30 AM), snacks, and beverages. Guests with Platinum, Titanium, and Ambassador Elite status typically have access, and many find it to be "nice and clean."
For dining, the hotel features Waterline, its main restaurant, which serves New England favorites using locally sourced ingredients. It offers breakfast (buffet style on weekends), lunch, and dinner, with "breathtaking Long Wharf views." Guests can enjoy American cuisine with a focus on seafood, and Waterline has been recognized by Boston.com readers as a favorite seafood restaurant in New England. There's also a Starbucks® Coffee House conveniently located on the first floor for coffee and quick bites. For in-room dining, A La Carte offers options for pick-up or delivery. Additionally, the Pool Deck, adjacent to the heated indoor pool, offers light entrées and beverages seasonally, providing a relaxed setting with harbor views.
Recreational features at the hotel include a heated indoor swimming pool, a whirlpool, and a 24-hour fitness center equipped with modern machines, including Peloton bikes. For families, the hotel is considered very kid-friendly, with "children stay free" policies and amenities such as free cribs/infant beds, connecting/adjoining rooms, and even a video game room. Adjacent to the hotel, Christopher Columbus Park features a fenced playground, and the Rose Kennedy Greenway, with its splash fountains and a seasonal carousel, offers additional family-friendly activities right outside the hotel.
The location of the Boston Marriott Long Wharf is truly exceptional. It's ideally positioned for sightseeing, being "in walking distance to most of Boston." The New England Aquarium is directly across the street, and Faneuil Hall/Quincy Market and the historic Freedom Trail are just a few steps away. The hotel is also a departure point for whale-watching cruises. Public transportation is highly accessible, with the Aquarium T (subway) station (Blue Line) just one block away, providing easy access to Logan Airport (via a quick subway ride or water taxi) and other parts of the city like the North End, Financial District, and Seaport District. This central location makes it a highly convenient base for exploring Boston's rich history, culinary scene, and vibrant attractions.
From a promotional perspective, the Boston Marriott Long Wharf emphasizes its "excellent location" and "friendly staff" as key selling points. While currently undergoing updates, the hotel communicates that interruptions are minimal. The positive guest reviews, particularly from business travelers who frequently return, underscore its appeal. The hotel offers various packages and promotions, such as discounted rates for Marriott Bonvoy members, and potentially special offers that include benefits tied to the destination fee. For example, the destination fee, which was approximately $40.76 per accommodation per night, is not optional and typically includes a credit that can be used for hotel services, encouraging guests to utilize on-site amenities. Despite some guest feedback about the destination fee and minor room issues like water temperature and privacy, the overall positive experience, coupled with the unparalleled location and access to Marriott's loyalty program benefits, consistently positions Boston Marriott Long Wharf as a desirable option for anyone seeking "Hotels Near Of Me" in Boston.

May 13, 2025 · Aaron PayneMy friends and I stayed at the Boston Marriott Long Wharf over a long weekend and although the hotel was great, we had a couple of concerns: 1) Bathroom: The bathroom sink only gave freezing cold water or scalding hot water. There was no in between and we had to pick between freezing our hands or burning our hands. The barn door was also not great as there was a gap between the door and the walls. I was able to heat my friends’ conversations from the bathroom and it was an uncomfortable feeling. 2) Destination fee: The destination fee was not optional and we were forced to use it every day to make sure we didn’t waste the $30. It would be nice to have more options to eat/drink and more affordable options if we were forced to pay this destination fee. 3) On Friday morning, my friends and I woke up to a man walking past the scaffolding outside our window. We were not notified during checkin that the building was doing construction. As we are a group of women, the experience of having a man walk past our windows (which were NOT darkened on the outside) was very jarring. When we went to dinner the next night at the restaurant across the street, we realized we were able to see inside of each hotel room and that this man was able to see us too as he walked past our room. On the positive note, the hotel was very clean and the staff was very friendly. We were able to drop our bags off to sightsee before checking in. Room service was always very prompt. Our hotel room was clean and had everything we needed for a 3 night stay. This Marriott location may not be our choice of stay next time we’re in town, but can definitely be a comfortable location for you!
Apr 20, 2025 · Rina ParkThis was our first trip ever to Boston, and we are SO glad we selected this hotel. Not only was the hotel itself amazingly comfortable, the location cannot be beat. Our room was updated and clean, very comfortable beds and views from our windows (that open for those of you that don't love having the recirculated air!). The rooms were quiet, as we could not hear anyone around us, and the rooms across the "hallway" were across the entire atrium, so no slamming doors were heard. The restaurant and bar were a fun little spot where we could work or watch sports while grabbing a cocktail or dessert. There is also a little mini market open 24/7 with anything you might need to make your stay more comfortable. The best part about this hotel too, location! Just outside the front doors is the blue line subway, which we were able to take to connecting lines to get to Fenway and TD Garden. It also goes to the airport! The Ducks and Trolleys pickup right in front, and the Aquarium is next door (we don't recommend this as a visit unless you are from an area that doesn't have larger aquariums). You can walk to many places including historic sites and restaurants/bars. Quincy Market is across the street. Definitely a great spot for personal and business trips!
Apr 08, 2025 · Kathryn Kalabokes Della CellaIf you need a place to stay in Boston that shows you to walk everywhere in a short amount of time, then stay at this hotel. It's only two subway stops from the airport. The views of the rooms are fantastic. They have a great bar, good food, and superb service.
May 10, 2025 · Robert RothI must start out with two facts: Service is wonderful and location is phenomenal! It is on the harbor! It is a 5-10 minute walk to the famous Northend of Boston: Little Italy, Mike's Pastry, Bova's Bakery, Sunny Girl, Thinking Cup, etc. (All places that are I highly recommend!) It is directly opposite Faneuil Marketplace, including the Illusion Museum (also a great time)! It is next door to the Aquarium! It also is the starting point for Duck tours and Trolley Tours of Boston. It is on the Blue subway line that takes one to the Green line and is SO ACCESSIBLE to FENWAY PARK! (Altho I am a Yankee Fan I am a TRUE BASEBALL fan and had to go to this historic ballpark! But I left my Yankee gear home!) Okay...The Marriott Long Wharf...Fabulous staff. Everyone we crossed paths with was eager to make sure that we had a great stay. Rooms: Our first one...YES...I said our first one...was depressing. It was a shoebox. When we turned the sink on it was like a jack hammer. And the bathroom was a sliding door that was only two feet from the head of the bed. No privacy. So we asked to change and here is where I feel the staff should be praised. They couldn't do anything that evening as it was late, but they put us in a very nice room the next day, moved our luggage, and it was like night and day. This room had a beautiful walk in shower, a great view, was twice the size and made our stay perfect! Unfortunately my daughter's room had a view, but the roof, which appears from a distance to be a deck, extends out and blocked much of their view. One other criticism is that the pool is very small. It was during a school break so it was overloaded with families. That wouldn't be a problem for me normally, as I have 7 grown kids, but it just was overwhelming. The room however has a great view. Lastly, the breakfast buffet was very good. I would DEFINITELY recommend this hotel based on the staff and the location!
