The environment at Burke Mountain Hotel & Conference Center is fundamentally shaped by its slopeside location, offering direct ski-in/ski-out access during winter and convenient proximity to the renowned Kingdom Trails for mountain biking in warmer months. The hotel is nestled within the natural beauty of the Northeast Kingdom, providing scenic views of Burke Mountain and the surrounding Vermont landscape from many of its rooms and common areas. The overall ambiance is designed to be modern rustic, with a focus on integrating the natural elements of the region into the hotel's aesthetic. However, while the location itself is a significant draw, some guest experiences suggest that the physical environment within the hotel can be inconsistent. While some rooms are described as clean, spacious, and comfortable with pleasant views, others have reported issues such as flickering lights, broken chairs, or a general lack of thorough cleanliness, including disturbing discoveries like used containers with mold and maggots or rotten food in kitchenware. This indicates that while the external environment is undeniably appealing, the internal upkeep and consistency can vary, impacting the overall guest experience.
The services offered at Burke Mountain Hotel & Conference Center are designed to support a resort-style stay, although their execution, according to guest feedback, can be inconsistent. The hotel provides amenities such as complimentary Wi-Fi, a 24-hour front desk, and free self-parking. There is an on-site restaurant, The View Pub, which serves lunch and dinner, and a coffee shop/cafe for lighter fare. A cooked-to-order breakfast is typically available for an additional charge. For recreation, the hotel features an indoor pool and a fitness center. However, reviews indicate that the pool has been noted as frequently closed, and some guests have reported issues with ski lockers not working. While there is a laundry facility available for guests, the level of service for in-room needs, such as daily housekeeping, has also received mixed feedback, with some guests stating that services like bed linen and toiletries needed to be requested multiple times. The hotel also caters to groups and conferences with dedicated meeting spaces. The staff's service has been described as "mediocre at best" by some, while others have praised individual staff members as "friendly and welcoming." This disparity suggests a varied guest experience when it comes to the service provided.
Key features of the Burke Mountain Hotel & Conference Center aim to enhance the guest experience for mountain resort visitors. The hotel offers a range of suites, from studios to one, two, and three-bedroom units, many of which include kitchenettes or full kitchens with appliances like stovetops, microwaves, refrigerators, and dishwashers, providing flexibility for self-catering. Many rooms also feature separate sitting areas and private bathrooms, with some offering balconies and fireplaces, providing a cozy atmosphere. The presence of a conference center with over 10,000 square feet of meeting space makes it a viable option for events and business gatherings. For winter sports enthusiasts, the hotel boasts ski-in/ski-out access and ski storage facilities. During non-winter months, the proximity to Kingdom Trails makes it a hub for mountain biking and hiking. Additional features include an arcade/game room and a seasonal outdoor pool. Despite these offerings, some guests have noted issues with the functionality of certain amenities, such as the ski lockers, or the overall maintenance of facilities like the kids' arcade or the cleanliness of the pool water. The menu at the on-site restaurant has been described as small and average, with a lack of specials, which can be a challenge given the hotel's somewhat remote location.
Regarding promotional information, Burke Mountain Hotel & Conference Center emphasizes its unique position as a slopeside hotel with direct access to mountain activities. Its marketing often highlights the stunning mountain views and the convenience of being located at the heart of Burke Mountain Resort, appealing to those seeking an active outdoor vacation. The hotel promotes itself as an ideal destination for skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking, and hiking, leveraging its natural surroundings. While specific deals and packages would need to be checked directly with the hotel or on their website, the general messaging focuses on providing a comprehensive mountain getaway experience. The availability of various room types, including those with kitchen facilities, is a key promotional point, catering to families and extended stays. However, potential guests should temper these promotional aspects with an awareness of the mixed reviews from past customers regarding room cleanliness and the consistent availability and quality of some services and amenities. While the promise of direct access to outdoor adventures remains a strong selling point, guests are advised to manage expectations regarding the interior maintenance and service consistency based on recent feedback.

Jan 24, 2025 · Joseph Silvestro, JrGot to our room it was going great until I was looking for my shoes, and I look under my bed and found a used container with mold and maggots in it. I didn’t say anything about it bc it could have been just a little mistake until 3 days later I go to make food, and I grab a pot and there’s ROTTEN FOOD INSIDE OF IT. That is unacceptable to be in a hotel that’s 365 a night and also some of the doors didn’t close fully. One of my chairs was broken I did report this and they gave me a new one which is nice but that doesn’t make up for the other things and this all happened in 2 of our rooms. Thousands of dollars for the stay, and yet somehow they couldn’t prepare the rooms properly.
Dec 31, 2024 · Xaiver NapStaff members at the desk are extremely dismissive and rude. Very lazy with no regard for anyone but themselves. Extreamly bothered if they have to move from their chair. Absolutely no respect or regard for people providing service. Unable to identify when someone is on a hands-free call. Management of this staff mirrors the staff itself.
Feb 22, 2025 · Kurtis SettergrenBurke Mt Resort just hosted my daughter's wedding, they accommodated everything we needed with smiles and ease. Staff from every single department was amazing, helpful and pleasant, can't express enough how they went above and beyond to make this weekend wonderful. Thank you
Oct 15, 2024 · Sally LitchfieldThis was not my first visit to the Burke Mountain Hotel, my family and i have always enjoyed and had a great experience. However, this was very different. Checked in on Friday, no hot water Saturday morning......I spoke to a room attendant, who kindly explained "the hot water was "flukey" and "it "depended on how many people were taking shower at that one time". I did mention it to the front desk...."Jacob" was going to look into it and send maintenance to investigate. Ok, I left for the day, upon my return water appeared to be like warm.....I thought it had been repaired. However, Sunday morning AGAIN no hot water for showers.....upon check out, I was greeted by "Jacob" again......I politely explained, NO HOT WATER to shower with again!!!!!.....i was told by Jacob "it happens, but it's not his fault".....I never assume it was. I did express my discontent with his response......he did refund me 2 days of resort fees ($21.88 for each day).....at $259.00 a day, I do think there should have been more concern and less sassy/professional answers. I was taken back by the situation, thinking stays in the past were so different, completely disappointed by the lack of staff reaction to "NO HOT WATER "
