Our family loved the night we spent at Camp DeForest! After walking down by the beach in Lincolnville we checked into Camp DeForest and made new friends by the camp fire. The room was so well decorated and everything throughout brought back many great memories from my family's lakeside camp in Maine. Our two children loved the stay and appreciated the kids they met and spent time at the campfire with and playing outside in the morning. Also, the host in the main lodge, Ben, was very helpful with recommendations and made us feel especially welcome.

A unique motel experience with notes of Wes Anderson. I stayed with my partner and enjoyed a camp setting while staying in a luxurious room. Everything fit the theme. We enjoyed a camp fire and s'mores followed by a refreshing nights rest. In the lodge there was also a wide variety of goodies and souvenirs. Something particularly interesting was a strange drink called IRN BRU. It was by far the strangest soda I've ever had. It tasted like bubble gum! Definitely worth trying if you stay here.

I love the overall vibe here, the gift shop/ store is so cool! it’s got classic Maine decor with an elevated twist. The room was clean and comfortable as well as tastefully decorated with some beautiful artwork. Had an amazing time and can’t wait to come back!

A charming and well-maintained motel with a fun, kitschy vibe and a touch of glamping comfort. Conveniently located between two coastal towns, it offers clean, quiet rooms with surprisingly no traffic noise despite close proximity to Route 1. Friendly staff, spacious lawns for kids, cozy firepits, and big, comfy beds make it a perfect relaxed getaway.

I had the wonderful opportunity to stay at Camp DeForest during pre-opening, and it was a lovely experience from the moment of arrival. I "camped" in the Birch cabin, which was quaint and cozy while being well-appointed and functional. The cabin is pictured below with a beautiful, antique teal couch, and a diamond patterned carpet. The cabin features a seating area, functional counter and table space, a sizeable refrigerator with a small freezer, in-room coffee and tea, one straightforward panel to control heat and AC, and an incredibly comfortable king-size bed. They were even so thoughtful as to include extra-wide pillows, which are perfect for a couple to share when laying side-by-side. The interior design and decor of the entire property is flawless; from the rooms to the cabins and lodge, the property showcases the immense time and passion that went into this project. As a luxury hotel and restaurant manager, a coastal Maine native, and an old colleague of the General Manager, Ben, I am very confident in personally recommending this property. Ben is incredibly knowledgeable, yet remains joyfully humble while boasting lifelong hospitality experience ranging from Relais & Chateaux properties to Michelin Star restaurants. The location makes for easy travel to quaint, calendar-worthy Maine towns like Lincolnville, Belfast and Camden, and the noise of the property is minimal while having easy access to Route 1. Whether you're travelling for a romantic getaway or a family vacation, you'll find joy and relaxation in your room or cabin, the main lodge, or sitting next to the on-site firepits roasting marshmallows and enjoying the great outdoors. If you're looking for a unique Maine experience with Wes Anderson-esque flair, make a stop at Camp DeForest on your Maine adventure.
