It is a very clean hotel. Unfortunately the bar and grill are not open, so you need to find somewhere else to eat. There are no restaurants in town open for breakfast. My complaint was our room was small and they put my father in a larger room. There was two of us and one of him. We both had king size beds, but with the size of our room I kept hitting my knees on the bed frame. I would put a queen size bed in the room we had so you can get around much easier. The first rooms that we were given hadn't been cleaned. So, they gave us different rooms. The lady that checked us in was very nice but she apparently doesn't do that job very often. With the bar being closed you have no way to get ice. My husband likes ice cold water to drink. We had to ask for ice in to go cups at the restaurants we had dinner at so he could have his water. The showers are very clean but they need anti skid strips in the tub so you don't fall. I would stay here again as it is very clean and close to family we were visiting.

The environment of City Hotel Bar & Grill OAbp! is characterized by its historical charm and a focus on cleanliness. While it is noted to be an older building, the conversion and maintenance are generally well-regarded, with one guest stating the conversion of the old building was "well done." The hotel offers a traditional, individually furnished, and decorated atmosphere, creating a cozy and welcoming ambiance. Some rooms may be on the smaller side, as highlighted by a guest who found their king room restrictive, suggesting that room size can vary. The hotel does not have an elevator, which is an important consideration for guests with mobility concerns, particularly for rooms on upper floors. Its location in Northern Cambria provides a quiet environment, with one reviewer specifically mentioning it was "perfectly quiet at night," contributing to a peaceful stay.

The hotel's "Bar & Grill" aspect is a key feature, although its operational status has been a point of inconsistency for some guests. When the bar is open, the food, particularly the "wings and pasta," is described as "amazing," and the service "phenomenal." However, the lack of consistent bar and grill operation means guests might need to find alternative dining options, and access to ice can be a challenge. The hotel also offers meeting rooms, including a meeting room, which suggests capacity for small conferences or events. Although not directly mentioned in the reviews, the hotel's presence in a small town often implies a role as a local gathering place when the bar and grill are fully operational. The hotel does not have a pool or fitness center based on the provided information, focusing more on the core lodging and dining experience (when available).

Jul 04, 2022 · Judy PatnoLocation is great for getting to local attractions. Rooms were clean and very comfortable. Service was nearly impossible to find. I booked because of the on site restaurant and bar. The only access to ice was the bar. In a 2 night, 3 morning stay, the bar opened one evening. Food at the bar is amazing. Service at the bar, while open, was phenomenal.
Jun 27, 2022 · Joyce AnnClean hotel, comfortable beds, Located right next to the Giant Eagle and near Sheetz. The check in process after hours is just your key in an envelope which was kind of odd but all good. The restaurant is closed but there are spots for food nearby.
Sep 05, 2023 · Alex PorterAwesome food great staff. This place is amazing. The owner is awesome and always friendly. I've lived here for about two years and just recently started going here. I have had a great time Everytime that I have been here. Honestly if you haven't gone here yet then you should. The trivia nights every Friday are an absolute great time and karaoke is a blast too. Take the time and stop in. You won't regret it.
May 12, 2018 · Terry ZernickStayed 2 nights for a business trip. No maid service, which meant no fresh towels or bed made. Bath towels are under-sized and subpar. Big stains on carpet. 15 minutes for the shower to get hot, which if you know that ahead of time will save you a cold shower. No staff in the morning (or Tuesday) when bar is closed. Bar staff and food was great. 4 stars for bar/restaurant, 2 stars for hotel.
