The cleaners were cleaning the breakfast area with guest towels. The coffee maker is in the bathroom. The blankets, pillow cases and towels were filthy. Towels had a lot of yellow stains and there were small brown stains on the bedding. The carpets in the room I was in were old and have very visible stains. I was too afraid to change the a/c due to the mold around the window, so I just left my room freezing cold and I refused to wrap up in those blankets, so needless to say, I had a very miserable stay. There is also no elevator in this hotel so if you have large luggage like myself, you will have to carry it upstairs on your own while the front desk staff watches you struggle. Most of the people that room here, live there. If you’re not a regular you won’t be treated well. The only good thing about this hotel is the shuttle service. The drivers are kind and helpful and for the most part, on time. I would only recommend you staying here if you have nowhere else to go or just need a place to stay for a night.

Clarion Pointe Atlanta Airport College Park Introduce

For individuals searching for "Hotels Near Of Me," particularly in the vicinity of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, the Clarion Pointe Atlanta Airport College Park, located at 1540 Phoenix Blvd, College Park, GA 30349, USA, is an option to consider. The hotel can be reached by phone at (404) 301-8039 or +1 404-301-8039. As part of the Clarion Pointe brand, it aims to offer affordable, elevated essentials for a sharper, more connected stay. However, it's crucial to present an objective introduction, acknowledging both the intended offerings and the candid feedback from real customers.

Environment:

The environment at Clarion Pointe Atlanta Airport College Park has received mixed reviews, indicating a need for potential guests to manage their expectations. While some general descriptions suggest a contemporary design, real customer feedback points to significant issues. The lobby, for instance, has been described as "reeks of weed," and rooms as smelling "like regular cigarette smoke," which can be off-putting for many travelers. There are reports of "old and very visible stains" on carpets and "mold around the window" in rooms, raising concerns about cleanliness and maintenance. Blankets, pillowcases, and towels have been described as "filthy," with "yellow stains" and "small brown stains on the bedding." This suggests inconsistencies in housekeeping standards. The hotel is noted as a "smoke-free property" in some listings, which directly contradicts guest experiences of smoke odor. The exterior of the property typically includes a seasonal outdoor pool, offering a recreational amenity, though its maintenance and appeal would align with the overall property condition. The presence of "most of the people that room here, live there" could indicate a more transient or long-term resident population, which can alter the typical hotel environment and guest experience.

Services:

The services at Clarion Pointe Atlanta Airport College Park revolve primarily around convenience for airport travelers. A key service is the complimentary airport shuttle, which guests have praised, noting that "The drivers are kind and helpful and for the most part, on time." This service is crucial for its proximity to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (approximately 3 miles away). The hotel also offers a complimentary continental breakfast daily from 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM, though one review mentions that "The cleaners were cleaning the breakfast area with guest towels," which raises hygiene concerns. While amenities like a 24-hour front desk are generally offered, a guest reported getting "lock out my room & there was NO ONE at the reception desk to let us back in," indicating potential lapses in service. Housekeeping is listed as daily, but guest reviews of "no cleaning services" and "filthy" linens directly contradict this. The hotel advertises free Wi-Fi in guest rooms and public areas. Other listed services include a business center, vending machines, and possibly 24-hour room service, though experiences may vary significantly from these official descriptions. The hotel's response to negative reviews, as noted by a guest, suggests that the hotel may place responsibility on the guest for addressing issues during their stay, which can be perceived negatively.

Features:

Clarion Pointe Atlanta Airport College Park features basic amenities aiming to provide a functional stay. The rooms are generally equipped with microwaves, refrigerators, LED TVs with premium channels, and coffee/tea makers. However, one review explicitly stated "The coffee maker is in the bathroom," which is an unusual and potentially unhygienic placement. While descriptions mention "pillowtop beds" and "Egyptian cotton sheets," guest feedback on "filthy" bedding indicates a significant disconnect. The hotel reportedly has 50 rooms across 2 floors. A major feature to note is the lack of an elevator, which, as one guest pointed out, means "if you have large luggage like myself, you will have to carry it upstairs on your own while the front desk staff watches you struggle." This can be a considerable inconvenience. A seasonal outdoor pool and a fitness center are generally listed as recreational features, providing options for relaxation and exercise. The hotel also has one meeting room, offering limited event space. The location is a primary feature, providing proximity to the airport and local attractions like the Georgia International Convention Center and Camp Creek Marketplace. However, the overall condition and atmosphere of the hotel seem to overshadow the convenience of these features for some guests.

Promotional Information:

Clarion Pointe Atlanta Airport College Park, as part of the Choice Hotels brand, participates in the Choice Privileges loyalty program, offering members benefits such as discounted rates, points for free nights, and other perks. When searching for "Hotels Near Of Me," its primary promotional appeal lies in its location near the Atlanta airport and its potentially lower price point compared to other options. The free airport shuttle service is a significant draw, often highlighted in promotional materials. The complimentary continental breakfast and free Wi-Fi are also standard promotional points for budget-friendly airport hotels. Direct contact with the hotel at (404) 301-8039 or +1 404-301-8039 or checking the Choice Hotels website would provide information on current availability and rates. However, the strong negative sentiment in recent customer reviews acts as a powerful counter-promotion. Phrases like "If you have any standards, stay somewhere else" and "I would only recommend you staying here if you have nowhere else to go or just need a place to stay for a night" directly challenge the hotel's appeal and value proposition. Therefore, while the hotel attempts to promote itself through standard amenities, the prevailing customer experiences suggest a significant discrepancy between promotional messaging and actual delivery.

In conclusion, the Clarion Pointe Atlanta Airport College Park, located at 1540 Phoenix Blvd, College Park, GA, serves as a budget-friendly option for travelers seeking "Hotels Near Of Me" near Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. While it offers a complimentary airport shuttle, free breakfast, and basic room amenities, potential guests must be aware of the consistent and significant concerns raised in recent customer reviews regarding cleanliness, room condition, staff responsiveness, and environmental issues like odors. It appears to be a hotel where expectations should be tempered, and it might be most suitable for those in immediate need of a short, convenient, and very economical overnight stay, rather than a comfortable or relaxing experience.

If you have any standards, stay somewhere else. The lobby reeks of weed and the rooms stink like regular cigarette smoke. EDIT IN RESPONSE TO OWNER'S RESPONSE. What a cop out. So it's on the guest if the experience is terrible? I got to the hotel at 1 am and was leaving in 6 hours. What was I supposed to do, demand that they remove the smell of weed from the lobby? Get back in line and wait another 30 minutes (there was a line about 6 people deep) and demand a new room? From the overall look and smell of the hotel, seemed like all rooms were going to be in that state so I wasn't going to waste my limited time to sleep.

I had the worst experience here. When I arrived to check in I got a room that belongs to someone else. Went back to tell the lady at front desk she gave me a key to someone else room again, so twice in a row! The third time she went to access the room for us to make sure it wasn’t occupied. The room was good to go finally! I went back to my car for 10 mins came back and couldn’t get in my room the key card kept showing red. Lots of angry customers was line up and complaining about the same things. A lot of us had to wait and the lobby to get our key card reprogrammed I spent half of my stay in the lobby and also the tub was stopped up when I took a shower. Save your time and money and go somewhere else.

To say I was underwhelmed and disappointed by my experience at the Clarion Point Atlanta Airport location would be an understatement. My husband and I booked our stay well in advance to leave our car parked onsite from March 16-24. Our check in process went smoothly (something we would later find out to actually be an issue) and were told the shuttle would arrive in 30 mins to take us to the international side of the Atlanta airport. The shuttle was almost late, but we were picked up.We told the driver multiple times that we were flying out of the international side of the airport. The trip to the airport was rough to say the least. The driver stopped first at the domestic side of the airport. My husband and I did not move to get out and the driver looks at us and says we have to get out. I reminded him that we are flying internationally. At this point, the driver laughs and says he will not be driving us to the international side of the airport unless we, “produce a very large tip.” Based off our booking we were told this was a courtesy shuttle to both sides of the Atlanta airport. We were forced to take an inter-airport shuttle, adding an hour onto travel time. Upon arriving back to Atlanta on the night of March 23rd we decided it would be easier to call an Uber rather than deal with a shuttle given our unpleasant experience with drop off. This ended up costing us an additional $38. We arrived at the hotel around 11pm that night and were immediately greeted with the overwhelming odor of marijuana. The hotel has several no smoking signs that are clearly not followed. Next, we came to the check in desk and the two employees there seemed aggravated that we were there. I informed them that we had checked in last Sunday, dropping our car off before our flight, and now we were there to spend the night before heading home the next morning. One of the employees takes my ID and after a few moments of searching informs me there is no reservation. Needless, to say I was confused as I booked directly through ParkSleepFly and had already checked in and paid for our stay on the 16th. I try to re-explain the situation, assuming I was the one who misspoke and before I could finish the employee cuts me off and says it doesn’t matter because there was no reservation in the system. We go back and forth for some time; I offer to show her my reservation email along with the confirmation number and she snaps that it won’t help. At this point I have my husband go to the car to retrieve our receipt from the previous Sunday. As it turns out the employee who checked us in had changed almost every single detail from our reservation. Our names were misspelled. Our address had been changed, along with the city we live in. She had also changed our hotel stay night from the 23rd to the 24th. I am honestly unsure if this was done in malice or just sheer incompetence. At this point we have been going back and forth with the employees for well over 15 mins and not solutions have been raised. I assume they are not going to allow us to sleep there. Since I have the receipt both from check in and from when I originally booked the hotel I ask for a refund, to allow us to go and find somewhere else to sleep before driving home the next day. After asking for a refund the employees suddenly jump to attention and offer to move our reservation to tonight allowing us to sleep there. The whole time maintaining an attitude of annoyance of having to perform their basic job functions. Given how late it was, and due to the fact that I had been traveling for over 13 hours at this point, I allow them to adjust the reservation so we can go to sleep. Upon entering our room, we found an old French fry under the dresser and the room itself reeked of marijuana. We slept long enough to safely drive and left first thing in the morning. Needless to say, I will not make the mistake of staying at this hotel again, nor will I be booking through ParkSleepFly again as they obviously do not vet the hotels they recommend. I would cation anyone else against staying here too.

It was a pleasure to be able to get a room here while getting ready for a flight ✈️ later on in the day. Just wanted to be close to the Airport 🛫 whereas I didn't have to go through traffic to get to the airport on time. The staff was amazing and I appreciate the service of the young lady at the check in desk. Her name is Trudy....The room was great 👍 and I appreciate everything that went into getting me situated on my stay. And I can say that the grounds as well as the inside was very clean. I was informed also that coffee ☕️ was available if I wanted some. I assure you that I will be going back again. It's always a pleasure to stay here.
