Extremely Disappointed – Do Not Stay at This Hotel! I had an incredibly disappointing experience during my recent stay at this hotel, and I feel compelled to warn others to stay far away. From the moment I entered my room, it was clear that the hotel is not properly maintained. The room had a strong, unpleasant musty odor, suggesting poor ventilation and possible issues with dampness or mold. To make matters worse, the condition of the bathroom was unacceptable—grime around the edges, stains on the walls, and a general sense of neglect. The breakfast was another major letdown. The hotel served jams that were not only expired, but also visibly moldy. I cannot believe they would allow food of this quality to be served to guests. This is not just a minor issue; it's a serious health and hygiene concern. When I reported these issues to the staff, I received no proper response or acknowledgment, which shows a lack of care for guest safety and satisfaction. The overall lack of cleanliness, poor maintenance, and disregard for guest well-being makes this hotel a place to avoid at all costs. I strongly recommend looking elsewhere for accommodation—this hotel is simply not worth your time or money.
For local users and travelers searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in the Cranberry Township area of Mars, Pennsylvania, the Comfort Inn Cranberry Twp. is a property that may appear in their search results. Located at 924 Sheraton Dr, Mars, PA 16046, USA, and reachable by phone at (724) 772-2700 or mobile at +1 724-772-2700, this hotel is part of the Choice Hotels brand, which generally aims to provide reliable accommodations at a moderate price point. However, it is imperative for potential guests to be aware of recent customer feedback, which presents a significant number of serious concerns regarding the hotel's environment, services, and features.
The environment of the Comfort Inn Cranberry Twp., as described by recent customers, raises significant alarm bells regarding cleanliness and maintenance. Guests have reported a "strong, unpleasant musty odor" in rooms, which suggests "poor ventilation and possible issues with dampness or mold." The condition of bathrooms has been explicitly called "unacceptable," with mentions of "grime around the edges, stains on the walls, and a general sense of neglect." Beyond the aesthetic issues, structural problems were noted, such as "daylight between the exterior wall and the through-wall heating unit" in Room 407, a severe issue particularly concerning during cold weather, necessitating guests to use towels to seal gaps. While one review described a room as "fairly clean," this was often immediately followed by observations that it was "very beat up." This feedback collectively points to a property that is struggling with fundamental upkeep and potentially has underlying issues that impact guest comfort and health. The hotel's location on Sheraton Drive places it in a commercial area, close to other hotels and various businesses common in suburban Cranberry Township. While this location might be convenient for access to local amenities and corporate offices, the internal environment of the hotel appears to be a significant detractor.
In terms of services, the Comfort Inn Cranberry Twp. provides a complimentary breakfast, a standard offering for the Comfort Inn brand. However, the quality and hygiene of this service have been severely criticized. One guest reported finding "jams that were not only expired, but also visibly moldy," labeling it a "serious health and hygiene concern" and a "major letdown." The waffle batter was also described as "watered down," and the overall breakfast quality as "sub-standard." This raises serious questions about food safety and the general management of the breakfast service. Furthermore, when guests reported these critical issues to the staff, they received "no proper response or acknowledgment," indicating a "lack of care for guest safety and satisfaction." This lack of staff responsiveness to serious complaints is a significant concern and detracts from the overall guest experience, suggesting that service recovery mechanisms may be inadequate. While specific details on other services like front desk hours or housekeeping frequency are not explicitly detailed in the given reviews, the highlighted issues with breakfast and staff response point to a broader concern about the quality of service delivery.
Regarding features, the Comfort Inn Cranberry Twp. generally aims to offer standard amenities expected from a Comfort Inn. These typically include guest rooms with comfortable beds, a private bathroom, a flat-screen TV, a coffee maker, and possibly a microwave and refrigerator. However, the condition of these features, as reported by customers, is highly problematic. The state of the bathrooms, with "grime" and "stains," directly impacts the usability and comfort of this key feature. The issue with the heating unit allowing cold air into the room indicates a fundamental flaw in a critical room feature. While beds were not explicitly criticized for comfort, the overall impression of rooms being "very beat up" implies that all features within the room may be showing significant wear and tear. The hotel usually provides free WiFi access, which is an essential feature for most travelers. While Comfort Inns typically feature an indoor pool and a fitness center, these amenities were not specifically mentioned or reviewed in the provided customer feedback, suggesting that guests' primary concerns revolved around the fundamental aspects of their room and breakfast.
For promotional information, the Comfort Inn Cranberry Twp., like other hotels in the Choice Hotels portfolio, would typically promote its convenient location, complimentary breakfast, and standard amenities to attract guests searching for "Hotels Near Of Me." However, the extremely negative nature of the recent customer reviews serves as a significant counter-promotion. Phrases such as "Extremely Disappointed – Do Not Stay at This Hotel!" and "avoid this place at all costs" are powerful warnings that directly contradict any positive marketing efforts. The explicit mention of "expired, visibly moldy" food and the lack of staff response to such serious health concerns are particularly damaging. Given this feedback, potential guests should exercise extreme caution. It is highly advisable to disregard general promotional materials and instead thoroughly research the most recent and detailed customer reviews on independent platforms before considering a stay at this specific Comfort Inn location. While the brand usually implies a certain standard, the severe issues reported here suggest that this particular property may not be upholding those standards. Therefore, any decision to book should be made with full awareness of the significant risks to comfort, cleanliness, and even health that have been highlighted by previous guests.
In conclusion, the Comfort Inn Cranberry Twp. in Mars, PA, presents a concerning profile based on recent customer reviews. While its location may be convenient for those searching "Hotels Near Of Me" in the Cranberry Township area, the reported issues with the hotel's environment, particularly cleanliness, maintenance, and unpleasant odors, are extremely serious. Furthermore, the quality and hygiene of the complimentary breakfast have been severely criticized, along with a perceived lack of responsiveness from the staff to critical guest concerns. The overall impression conveyed by guests is that the hotel is "not worth your time or money." Potential guests are strongly advised to seek alternative accommodations to ensure a comfortable, clean, and safe stay.

Dec 22, 2024 · Tomas AleksanderWe stayed in Room 407. You could see daylight between the exterior wall and the through-wall heating unit. We put a towel on the gap to help seal it up because the temperature was in the teens. The room was fairly clean, but very beat up. The door to the bathroom needs to be replaced. The breakfast was no good. The waffle batter was watered down. Everything was sub-standard. It looks like Comfort Inn will be off our list of acceptable hotels going forward.
Dec 23, 2024 · Blair ReeseWe had our reservations canceled at another Choice Hotel. Vanessa was so nice about getting us a room at 5am in the morning. We were exhausted and just wanted to sleep. Also, Diane, Vince and Raji helped with our stay for our 4 night stay. Breakfast was great! We had our 2 dogs with us too. Clean rooms too. Thank you for making us comfortable! We definitely be back.

Feb 20, 2025 · Rajashekhar ReddyI have to say the housekeeping was not a good experience here. Not to be picky 🤷♀️ My husband and I were expecting to have a clean room. Other than that... everything else was descent, and the first breakfast in a long time put out plenty of options 😊
