The hotel was quiet and the rooms were clean. We were there a week, and they only cleaned our room once. Breakfast is not a good choice. Same sausage and flat eggs every day. A lot left over, so I guess they kept adding it to the next batch each morning. Only ate the waffles one time, which were okay.
For travelers seeking accommodations within the "Hotels Near Of Me" category in Carneys Point, New Jersey, the Comfort Inn & Suites presents itself as a familiar brand offering. Located at 634 Soders Rd, Carneys Point, NJ 08069, USA, this hotel is part of the Choice Hotels family, aiming to provide a mid-range lodging experience with standard amenities. While the brand typically implies a certain level of comfort and consistency, recent guest reviews for this specific location highlight a significant disparity in expectations versus reality, making an objective introduction crucial for potential visitors.
The environment at Comfort Inn & Suites in Carneys Point, based on customer feedback, offers a mixed picture. While some guests describe the hotel as "quiet," which is a positive attribute for rest, other aspects of the environment raise concerns. A direct quote mentions the "Lobby smelled as someone just pulled an all-nighter with Snoop," indicating a pervasive and unpleasant odor in a key common area. This can immediately create a negative first impression for guests upon arrival. Similarly, rooms are reported to have a "weird smell," suggesting issues with air quality and freshness within individual accommodations. This contrasts with the expectation of a clean and welcoming atmosphere. The hotel's external environment likely reflects its position in a commercial or light industrial area, common for properties situated off major roads, providing practical access but perhaps not scenic views or extensive outdoor spaces. Despite being a branded hotel, the overall environmental impression, as conveyed by reviews, points to inconsistencies in maintaining a fresh and pleasant ambiance.
The services at Comfort Inn & Suites aim to provide standard hotel conveniences, but here too, guest experiences vary. The hotel offers a front desk for check-in, check-out, and guest assistance. While there's no direct comment on staff demeanor in the provided reviews, the focus shifts to operational shortcomings. Housekeeping services, which are fundamental, are noted as being infrequent; "they only cleaned our room once" during a week-long stay. This deviates significantly from typical daily housekeeping expectations for most hotels. Essential amenities like ice or vending machines are reported as "no ice or vending on the floors," which is a considerable inconvenience for guests. Complimentary Wi-Fi is generally a standard offering for Comfort Inn properties, crucial for guest connectivity, though its reliability isn't explicitly mentioned in the provided reviews. The breakfast service, a key feature of Comfort Inn, receives particularly strong criticism regarding its quality and variety.
Features of the Comfort Inn & Suites in Carneys Point are intended to align with typical mid-range hotel offerings. These commonly include an indoor swimming pool and a fitness center (though specific reviews here don't detail their condition or functionality). Guest rooms are usually equipped with flat-screen TVs, coffee makers, and in-room temperature control. However, the quality and maintenance of these features are heavily scrutinized by reviewers. Beds are described as "very uncomfortable" and advertised as "queens but definitely not queens," implying a discrepancy in size and comfort. Pillows are noted as "half the size of a standard pillow." The bathroom experience is also problematic, with "mold around top of shower that was painted over," and "water pressure in the shower was lacking," despite good temperature. Even basic room functionality is an issue, with a door that "stuck and had to push hard to get in." These details point to significant deferred maintenance and a lack of attention to basic room quality.
A major feature that attracts guests to Comfort Inn is the complimentary breakfast. However, at this specific location, it is a significant point of dissatisfaction. Described as "not a good choice," "Same sausage and flat eggs every day," with concerns about food freshness ("a lot left over, so I guess they kept adding it to the next batch each morning"). The "continental breakfast" is criticized for offering only "2 choices, sausage and eggs," with the sausage "sitting on the warmer in liquid" and eggs "as dry as rice cakes." Beverages like "apple juice was gold colored water, and orange juice was orange flavored water" are also deemed "could not be consumed." This feedback strongly suggests that the breakfast offering is far below expected standards for the brand and does not provide a satisfying start to the day for guests. The only item consistently deemed "okay" or palatable were the waffles, likely due to the self-serve waffle maker.
The hotel is also often listed as pet-friendly, a convenient feature for travelers with animals, though specific fees and policies would apply. Free self-parking is usually available, offering convenience for guests arriving by car. The address indicates its location is accessible from major roads, facilitating travel in and out of the area.
Regarding promotional information, as a Choice Hotels property, the Comfort Inn & Suites participates in the Choice Privileges loyalty program. This allows members to earn and redeem points for stays, potentially accessing exclusive member rates and benefits. Guests can find various deals and discounts by booking directly through the Choice Hotels website (choicehotels.com/comfort-inn) or through major online travel agencies. Common promotions might include discounts for AAA and AARP members, military personnel, or special rates for longer stays. Given the critical nature of the recent reviews, potential guests should carefully evaluate the price point against the reported quality issues. For direct inquiries or reservations, the hotel can be reached by phone at (856) 514-8140 or +1 856-514-8140. The strong recommendation from a reviewer to "highly recommend checking out a different hotel if you need to stay in the area" is a significant caution that prospective guests should seriously consider, indicating that the current state of the property may not offer a satisfactory experience, even for those seeking a basic stay at a budget-friendly price.

Apr 28, 2025 · Donna SchottelDefinitely let down on this one and overpriced for what you get. Lobby smelled as someone just pulled an all-nighter with Snoop. Room had a weird smell, shower had mold around top of shower that was painted over, door stuck and had to push hard to get in ( added security?), no ice or vending on the floors. The beds are very uncomfortable and advertised as queens but definitely not queens. The pillows were half the size of a standard pillow, and I guess to make bed appear bigger. Water pressure in the shower was lacking, but the temperature was good. Now, let's talk about what they advertise a "continental breakfast." You had 2 choices, sausage and eggs. We didn't try either the sausage because they were sitting on the warmer in liquid, and the eggs looked as dry as rice cakes. They did have a waffle maker, and we all settled on those. The apple juice was gold colored water, and orange juice was orange flavored water. Both could not be consumed. I highly recommend checking out a different hotel if you need to stay in the area.
Nov 27, 2024 · James MWe are Choice Diamond Members; small business owners that travel constantly. The staff was Amazing about going out of their way to provide us with a luggage cart as there were none available at check in; so thank you for that.
Jan 22, 2025 · PATRICIA HARRISThey actually had 2 rooms and saved us from the disaster of HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS and PRICELINE FAIL. Our 2 rooms were not available, though we had paid ahead and had confirmation number. THANK YOU COMFORT INN.
