Overall, great experience for the price. The pool has a water slide that my 2 year old really enjoyed. The room was clean and spacious, and everything was in working order. The bathroom was much nicer than we expected, it appeared to have just been remodeled.
Introduction / Overview
For Wisconsinites, especially those with connections to the bustling Fox Valley region, finding a hotel that caters to the entire family is often a priority. Comfort Suites Appleton Airport is a popular choice, known for its unique amenities and its ability to accommodate a wide variety of guests, from business travelers to families with young children. As part of the Choice Hotels brand, it provides a trusted and reliable experience with a focus on comfort and convenience. The hotel's main draw is its all-suite layout, which gives guests more space to spread out and relax, a key feature for families and those on longer trips. Beyond the spacious rooms, the hotel boasts a 10,000-square-foot water recreation center, which includes a large indoor pool, a water slide, and a whirlpool. This "Comfort Dome" is a major highlight, especially for families looking for a fun and engaging place to stay, and it's a feature that sets this hotel apart from many others in the area. Guest reviews often reflect this appeal. One reviewer praised the "great experience for the price," specifically mentioning that their "2 year old really enjoyed" the water slide. The same review also noted that the room was "clean and spacious" and that the bathroom seemed to have been recently remodeled, which suggests a commitment to maintaining a fresh and modern environment. The hotel also offers a complimentary hot breakfast with a variety of options, which is another significant value-add for guests. However, like any business, Comfort Suites Appleton Airport has faced some criticism. A different review, from a family attending a soccer tournament, describes an incident where a front desk worker spoke to a child in a "rude Demeaning voice." While the reviewer acknowledges the hotel was busy with multiple groups and events that weekend, the negative interaction with the staff member left a lasting impression. This highlights the importance of consistent, high-quality customer service, which can be the difference between a great stay and a disappointing one. The hotel’s ability to manage its high volume of guests and maintain a positive and respectful atmosphere for everyone, especially children, is crucial. For the local Wisconsin community, the hotel's reputation is built on a blend of its fantastic amenities and its day-to-day operations. When the experience is positive, as many reviews suggest, it's a great option for a family getaway or a comfortable place to stay during a local event.
The hotel is designed with a broad range of guests in mind. Its 130 rooms, including spacious suites with a sofa bed, a microwave, and a refrigerator, are well-suited for families, sports teams, and individuals alike. The hotel also has an on-site pub, Duffy's Pub, which offers a convenient place for adults to relax in the evening, and a business center with meeting rooms, catering to corporate travelers. A free airport shuttle is available, which is a great service for those flying in or out of Appleton International Airport. The hotel's pet-friendly policy is another valuable feature that makes it a more accessible option for Wisconsinites who travel with their furry friends. The positive feedback on the cleanliness of the rooms and the quality of the amenities, such as the newly remodeled bathroom mentioned in one review, suggests that the hotel is actively working to provide a high-quality experience. The hotel's appeal is rooted in its ability to offer a well-rounded experience, from the fun and exciting water park for kids to the practical amenities for adults. While the negative feedback on a specific staff member is a concern, it is contrasted by other reviews that praise the friendly and helpful staff. This indicates that the hotel's management and staff are generally well-regarded, even if individual incidents can occur. For locals, the hotel's combination of entertainment, comfort, and value makes it a smart choice for a wide variety of occasions.

Jun 18, 2025 · Trevor SpeesWe love staying here when our son has a soccer tournament in Appleton! We have always have a great experience and the bartender that was working Saturday 6/21 was fabulous!! BUT I am appalled at how the front desk worker spoke to my son and his friend. It was Sunday 6/22 it was a shorter lady, grey hair to the shoulders around 12:10pm. We were checked out and getting ready to leave to his game. My son asked for some money to get a candy. I gave him and his friend five dollars. I stayed behind the desk in the restaurant area sitting on a table while they picked their candies and paid for it. When they walked up to the front desk, the lady responded “how do you think you’re going to pay for that?” In a rude Demeaning voice. My son then held up his cash and she took it. My husband just happened to be walking in from bringing the car around when this happened and I don’t think she knew my husband was the father to the kid buying candy. So he heard it all. He had to double check he heard her correctly because he couldn’t believe she was speaking to a child like that. Now I understand it was a long weekend and I know there was a soccer team, basketball team and 2 Weddings Taking place that weekend with lots of kids running around the night before. But this occurred Sunday middle of the day when it was very quiet and slow. Regardless of all that There was a better way for her to go about asking if he had money to pay for it:
Jun 23, 2025 · Ashley BradshawNice room, very nice pool area. Friendly staff except for Joan at the front desk who hassled me about my corporate credit card authorization. She was very rude. Otherwise a great hotel for the price.
Jun 29, 2025 · Chris JorgensonLikely the most uncomfortable bed I've ever tried sleeping in. There was a very obvious slant from the foot of the bed to the head board. I had to sleep in the opposite direction to make it feel less weird. The front desk staff seemed irritated with being at work. The bartender was very nice and the two complimentary drinks was a nice surprise. We didn't swim in the pool or anything because we were only there to catch a flight early the next morning. But it looked nice. Everything seemed clean.
Apr 02, 2025 · K HAbsolute garbage place! We brought our granddaughter for her birthday. We chose this hotel because it has a children's play area in the pool with small slides and things. But that's were the god part ends. First of all they charged for 2 rooms even though only one was requested. When it was discovered at check in they happily canceled the the extra room but refused to refund the multiple nights extra charges. Then all night they kept kicking her friends out of the pool because they didn't have a wristband but wouldn't allow us to purchase more. Front desk staff incredibly rude. The toilet in the room didn't flush most of the time and the sink in the bathroom looked like it hadn't been washed from the last person who stayed in there. Only positive I can give is maybe location because it is near lots of shopping.
