Nice place for the money. Small room was handicapped but I managed. Friendly people and kind. Breakfast was very limited but what do you expect for a low cost hotel. Most low cost hotels don't even offer FREE breakfast so you can't complain!

Corning Inn provides a selection of fundamental services and amenities designed to meet the basic needs of travelers, particularly those on a tighter budget. A notable amenity is the complimentary continental breakfast. While guests should manage their expectations for a "low-cost hotel" breakfast, it is appreciated by many that a free breakfast is offered at all, especially considering that some hotels in this price range do not. The breakfast usually includes a limited selection of items to start the day.
Connectivity is also addressed with complimentary Wi-Fi available throughout the property and in all rooms. This allows guests to stay connected for work or personal use. Each of the 58 rooms includes air conditioning for comfort. For added convenience, rooms are equipped with microwaves and refrigerators, which are valuable features for guests looking to store snacks or prepare simple meals, helping to save on dining costs.
Other services include a 24-hour front desk, ensuring that staff are available to assist guests at any time of day or night. Laundry facilities are also available on-site, a significant convenience for guests on longer trips. Free self-parking is provided for guests arriving by car, including space for RVs, buses, and trucks. The hotel generally accepts credit cards, and cash payment is not accepted.
Regarding accessibility, the hotel offers some features for guests with specific needs, including the availability of handicapped-accessible rooms. The hotel operates as a non-smoking property, with only one designated smoking room available, and smoking in general is limited to designated areas.
The main features of Corning Inn are centered around providing an economical and functional stay. The rooms, while described as "small" or potentially "dated" in some reviews, are generally considered comfortable and clean for the price point. Room types include options with one king bed, two double beds, or two queen beds. The presence of in-room amenities like microwaves and refrigerators, often found in higher-tier hotels, adds value for budget travelers.
The hotel aims for a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, with staff often described as "friendly people and kind." This positive interaction with staff can significantly enhance a guest's experience, particularly in a budget hotel setting. The provision of free Wi-Fi and a continental breakfast are also key features that make the hotel a competitive option within its price category. The property was last renovated in 2014, indicating that while not brand new, efforts have been made to maintain its condition. It also has interior hallways for added security and comfort.
Corning Inn is generally marketed as a "nice place for the money," appealing to travelers seeking an affordable stay without excessive frills. The "low cost hotel" designation sets guest expectations, and many reviewers find it to be a good value given the price. The free continental breakfast is often highlighted as a positive point, especially since it's not universally offered at comparable hotels.
However, it's important to acknowledge that guest experiences can vary. While many reviews praise the friendly staff and the overall cleanliness, there have been instances where guests reported negative experiences, including concerning interactions with staff and issues with room conditions such as stained towels or showers. Potential guests should be aware of these mixed reviews and consider if the hotel's value proposition aligns with their comfort and safety expectations. The hotel has received ratings of "Good" to "Very good" for cleanliness, staff & service, and value for money from various booking platforms, though property conditions and amenities might receive slightly lower scores.
For travelers searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in the Corning/Painted Post area and prioritizing cost-effectiveness, a convenient location near attractions, and essential amenities like free breakfast and Wi-Fi, Corning Inn can be a viable option. It is best suited for those who understand it's a budget hotel and manage their expectations accordingly, focusing on its core offerings rather than luxurious features.

Nov 04, 2024 · Eric StackI booked 2 nights on Expedia and thean at the front desk came banging on my door at 1am while I was sleeping trying to gain access to my room. When I checked in, my fiance was gathering our belongings so idk if they knew he was there but he was also on my itinerary. When my fiance opened the door, the man was tweaked out, eyes bugged out, sweating profusely, and scary. He then tried to get me into the office with him, so me and my fiance went to the window like normal people do and when we got there he had nothing to say to us, so we went back to our room and he proceeded to pace back n forth past our door so we left at 1am in the morning and they refused to refund us for their worker being a creep. Definitely was scary. Don't travel there alone as a woman!!
Jan 07, 2025 · Alexus DavisWe recently stayed at the Corning Inn for two days as a family over the long weekend, and it was a good experience for the price. The staff were welcoming and helpful, making our stay enjoyable. Free parking. Rooms are decent - comfortable beds but pillows were terrible. Thankfully I don’t care much for pillows. The free breakfast was a nice bonus, especially considering the reasonable price - don’t expect much here with bread, cereal, waffles, muffin, fruits and beverages, but enough to keep you going until brunch. Additionally, the hotel's convenient location made it easy to explore Watkins Glen, which isn’t too far away without having to pay $200/night for a hotel. Overall, we had a comfortable and pleasant stay, and we would definitely recommend the Corning Inn for a budget-friendly and family-friendly stay.
Sep 02, 2024 · Santosh GSI recently had the pleasure of staying at the Corning Inn, and I couldn't be more impressed with the entire experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive, ensuring that every aspect of my stay was perfect. The room was immaculate, well-appointed, and provided all the comforts of home. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, and I appreciated the attention to detail in the decor and amenities. It was clear that the hotel prioritizes cleanliness and guest comfort. One of the standout features of the Corning Inn is their exceptional customer service. Every staff member I interacted with went above and beyond to make sure my needs were met, and their genuine friendliness made me feel right at home. They were always available to provide recommendations for local attractions and dining options, which was incredibly helpful. The hotel's location is ideal, offering easy access to various points of interest in the area. Despite its central location, the hotel maintains a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. Additionally, the breakfast provided was delicious and offered a wide variety of options to suit every palate. It was a great way to start each day. Overall, my stay at the Corning Inn was exceptional. The combination of luxurious accommodations, top-notch service, and prime location makes it a standout choice for anyone visiting the area. I highly recommend the Corning Inn and will definitely be returning on my next visit.
Jun 21, 2024 · Ripal PatelBOOKING.COM made my reservation in advance, for a popular fair that was going on in the area. I called a couple days later to inquire about a package delivery, which I was told is not a problem. Then I called again during my travel to inform them that I am on my way but running a couple hours late, which again they said is no problem. HOWEVER!!! When I arrived, they informed me that they gave my room to someone else!!!!! And they said they would give me a lesser room, on a different floor, and that they would not charge me anything extra!!!! WHAT?!?!? I told him that he should be giving me a REDUCED RATE!! But he wouldn’t. Since there were no other hotel rooms available in that area, because of the local fair of some kind, I had no recourse. So I contacted BOOKING.COM to complain, and they wouldn’t even respond to my complaint!!! So in effect, I paid a lot of money for a cheap little hotel room, in the middle of nowhere New York, where there is little to no integrity!! And the huge company called BOOKING.COM doesn’t care about their customers enough to even reply to a complaint about one of their sponsored hotels!! Well, I guess I should go back to EXPEDIA.COM!!! They’re a little more expensive but I never had this problem with them!! I will never go back to the Corning Inn or Booking.com again.
