I am from this area. I live in Atlanta however. I am here working on my mom’s house after she passed away recently. The pump is not working properly I needed a place to stay. An unexpected expense. The first night I stayed in the Radison through a third party app hotel reservation. But the rate was too much so I thought I was taking a chance by staying at the Econo Lodge. Let’s be real. Not all of the locations are the same. This one, however, is worth the visit. I promise you. They have done well to keep the place modern while being economical with thier decisions. It is a very nice environment. The free continental breakfast can’t be beat. The waffle machine is worthy the entire stay. lol. Trust me on this one! Even the staff has all been with the owners for over 15 years. And I mean really, all of them. How many employers can say that they have retained their entire staff for over 15 years? They are great people Save yourself the aggravating trouble of finding a decent place to stay on this little town. This is the place.

The environment of Econo Lodge Painted Post - Corning is designed for convenience, situated just off Interstate 86 and Interstate 99. This makes it an easy stop for road travelers. Its location in Painted Post provides excellent access to nearby attractions, including the world-renowned Corning Museum of Glass (just minutes away), the Rockwell Museum, Corning Community College, and Corning's historic Market Street in the Gaffer District. The proximity to major retailers like Walmart, Tractor Supply Company, and Home Depot, as well as several dining options (Spencers Family Restaurant, Sorges, Friendly's, Denny's, Bob Evans) within walking distance or a very short drive, adds to its practicality. The area offers a blend of historical charm and modern conveniences, serving as a gateway to the wider Finger Lakes region with its vineyards and scenic beauty.
The services and features at Econo Lodge Painted Post - Corning focus on providing fundamental comforts and value for money. A key offering is the complimentary continental breakfast, which is a staple for many guests. While one reviewer enthusiastically praised the "waffle machine" and deemed the breakfast "can't be beat," another had a less favorable experience, noting it was "not at all what the website said it would be," consisting of a "waffle maker, a few bagel, milk, green bananas and awful coffee." This suggests some inconsistency in the breakfast offering, but the availability of breakfast is a standard amenity.
In-room amenities typically include a microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, hair dryer, iron, and ironing board. All rooms also offer free Wi-Fi access, which is crucial for both leisure and business travelers. Some rooms may feature DVD players or whirlpool tubs. The hotel also provides free 24-hour coffee and tea in the lobby, and free movies, popcorn, and cookies in the evenings, adding value to the guest experience.
The hotel is pet-friendly, allowing pets for a small fee, which is a significant advantage for travelers with animals. Other services include a 24-hour front desk, a business center with fax and copy services, and free self-parking, including truck parking. While some external resources mention amenities like an outdoor pool, official and recent reviews do not consistently confirm this, with one review mentioning "no pool." Given the direct reviews provided, it's safer to not include an outdoor pool in this objective description. The property was built in 1989 and last renovated in 2001 according to some sources, indicating it is an established property.
Customer reviews for Econo Lodge Painted Post - Corning present a mixed but generally positive picture, especially considering its budget-friendly positioning. A highly positive review emphasized the hotel's value, calling it "worth the visit" and noting that they "have done well to keep the place modern while being economical with their decisions." This guest highlighted the "very nice environment" and the exceptionally loyal staff, with "all of them" having been with the owners for "over 15 years," which speaks volumes about the management and work environment. This particular reviewer strongly recommended the hotel for those seeking a "decent place to stay on this little town."
However, another detailed review provided a more critical perspective. While acknowledging the "relatively clean" room and "comfortable and clean" bed, it pointed out several issues: "very thin" bedding, "lumpy" and small pillows, a "loud" heater that "didn't quite work the best," a "musty" room requiring an air freshener purchase, and a "partially updated" appearance. The discrepancy in breakfast descriptions was also noted, along with a lack of sufficient towels (only two very small bath towels for two nights). This reviewer concluded, "If you need a bed to sleep in it’s not a bad price just don’t expect too much," and advised purchasing personal pillows. This feedback indicates that while the hotel can offer good value and some positive aspects like friendly staff and location, prospective guests should manage their expectations regarding the overall condition of the rooms and the consistency of amenities like breakfast and heating.

Apr 23, 2025 · Chris BalchWe stayed in a king bed room. The room was relatively clean. Bed was comfortable and clean. Bedding was very thin, pillows (approximately 12x12 squares lumpy squares 4 for a king sized bed). The heater didn’t quite work the best and was very loud. The room was musty. (Purchased air freshener from Walmart). The room appeared to look partially updated. Breakfast was not at all what the website said it would be. Waffle maker, a few bagel, milk, green bananas and awful coffee was what they had. We stayed 2 nights and were given two very small bath towels. I wish I took photos. If you need a bed to sleep in it’s not a bad price just don’t expect to much. We went to Walmart across the street and purchased our own pillows.
Apr 06, 2025 · Lori StollStayed here this past weekend! Absolutely almost zero heat in our room. The heater was so old and outdated. Couldn't take a shower because it would floor the bathroom floor. And Couldn't take a bath because zero plugs. Huge gap at the bottom of our door. VERY LOUD at night time. And the owner some Indian lady made me give her a 50$ in cash deposit in case the room was dirty even though I had already paid for the room and everything online. You ask for 2 extra towels and get nothing but attitude and they make you go out to the front desk to get them! Will NEVER stay there again. Please save your money and stay at a decent motel. For a tiny bag of chips was 1 25$ and a can of soda is 1.50. They rob you of your money anyway they can. If you get caught vaping even if it's nicotine free you will be charged a 250$ to your credit card. Please please if you have children do not stay here. Because the rooms are so dusty you can barely breath! Very very disappointed.
Feb 12, 2025 · Jessica ArnoldPaul and his staff at the hotel are great ! The room’s were clean and comfortable , the staff were friendly and helpful, and the reservation process was seamless. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the Corning /Painted Post area. We will definitely be back. Thanks again Paul and team!
Mar 08, 2025 · Jeremy DecostaStayed here while visiting Seneca Lake ...it was a good stopping point to rest after venturing out and about in upstate NY. Very basic , clean hotel with an affordable rate 👌. It's clean, safe, and has what you need. Continental breakfast includes: waffles, cereal, bagels, toast, oatmeal, yogurt, bananas, and coffee and orange juice. Our king bed was comfy. Corning,NY is also very close. We went to the Wild Ginger for sushi and Burgers and Beer of Corning and had some delicious burgers and a great beer selection I had the mushroom and swiss burger and the Ithaca IPA called Flower Power. I recommend for a quick weekend getaway or if even you're planning to visit the other Finger Lakes.
