HomeTowne Studios Painted Post is situated in Painted Post, offering a functional and accessible environment for travelers. It is located near the junction of I-99 and I-86 (specifically Exit 44), providing excellent connectivity for guests traveling by car and easy access to surrounding areas. The hotel is part of a dual-branded property, sharing a location with the Red Roof Inn Painted Post, which can sometimes lead to shared amenities or a similar overall appearance. While it is not directly in the bustling tourist center, it remains within a reasonable driving distance of key attractions. The Corning Museum of Glass is approximately 10 minutes or 4 miles away, and Market Street, with its shops and restaurants, is similarly close. This location is particularly suitable for those working in the area, as highlighted by a review mentioning a nearly year-long stay for work. Nearby, guests will find several casual restaurants, offering convenient dining options. The property itself is a two-story building with 45 rooms, and it features an outdoor pool that is seasonal, typically open from June to September. As an extended-stay focused property, its environment is more geared towards practicality and self-sufficiency rather than a resort-like atmosphere.
HomeTowne Studios Painted Post focuses on providing essential services that cater particularly to extended-stay guests. Check-in is typically at 3:00 PM, and check-out is by 11:00 AM, with a 24-hour front desk available to assist guests. A key service is the provision of free WiFi in all rooms and public spaces, ensuring consistent connectivity. Each studio room comes equipped with a private kitchenette, which includes a full-sized refrigerator/freezer, microwave, and sink with cabinets, making it convenient for guests to prepare their own meals. Cooktops and basic dish kits (with plates, bowls, glasses, mugs, silverware, and some cooking utensils) are also available, often for a small fee or complimentary upon request. The hotel provides weekly housekeeping services, with additional housekeeping available for a nominal fee if required more frequently. For guests requiring laundry facilities, there are on-site coin laundry amenities, a significant benefit for longer stays. The hotel is pet-friendly, allowing dogs and cats for an additional fee of $10 per pet, per night (with a maximum of $100 per stay and a limit of two pets up to 80 lbs each). Service animals are exempt from fees. Each room also includes a flat-screen TV with cable channels, and a desk with a comfortable chair. While a recent review noted concerns about staff interaction regarding guests receiving DSS help, the overall feedback from others highlights friendly and helpful staff who strive to provide good service according to the price point. The hotel also has a computer station and provides free local and long-distance calls from rooms.
The distinctive features of HomeTowne Studios Painted Post are centered around enabling guest self-sufficiency and offering practical amenities for longer durations. The presence of kitchenettes in all 45 studio rooms is a standout feature, distinguishing it from traditional hotels and making it suitable for guests who prefer to cook their own meals and save on dining expenses. The full-sized refrigerators are particularly useful for extended stays. The rooms, while not described as "massive plush rooms" like some boutique options, are noted for providing "plenty of space" and being comfortable. Each room is approximately 190 sq ft. The hotel offers non-smoking rooms and is generally clean in the individual units, though some public areas have received criticism regarding cleanliness and maintenance. The seasonal outdoor pool provides a recreational outlet during warmer months. The hotel also benefits from having an on-site Mexican restaurant, Casa Mezcal Selecto, offering a convenient dining option for guests, though its restroom access across the lobby is a point to note. The provision of ample power outlets for charging multiple devices is a practical convenience in each room. The hotel has undergone recent renovations, with a complete renovation completed in June 2023, indicating efforts to update and improve the property. This ensures that amenities like air conditioning, heating, and functional fixtures are in place.
HomeTowne Studios Painted Post primarily promotes itself as an affordable and flexible option for extended stays, aligned with Red Roof's "A Brand New Way to Extended Stay.®" philosophy. Its pricing is often competitive, catering to budget-conscious travelers, although one review noted a higher actual price than initially expected, so it is advisable for guests to confirm rates. A significant promotional draw is its pet-friendly policy, making it an attractive choice for those traveling with pets without incurring exorbitant fees. The inclusion of kitchenettes in every room is a major selling point for longer stays, as it allows guests to save money on dining out and offers a more home-like environment. The hotel emphasizes its convenient location near major highways (I-86 and I-99), making it a practical base for exploring the Finger Lakes region, including the Corning Museum of Glass, Rockwell Museum, Erwin Mountain State Forest, and Corning Community College. For those on a tight budget or needing accommodations for several weeks or months, the affordable monthly rates and the absence of utility bills or hefty security deposits typically associated with apartment rentals are compelling promotional points. The positive feedback on staff friendliness and overall value, despite some concerns about public area maintenance, also contributes to its appeal. Guests seeking a functional, self-sufficient, and cost-effective solution for their stay in the Corning/Painted Post area, particularly for extended periods, will find HomeTowne Studios Painted Post to be a relevant option within the "Hotels Near Of Me" category.

Mar 24, 2025 · Dylan HairstonGreat place to stay. We have been here for almost 1 year for work. Has opportunities for improvement as all hotels, but at the end is good service/quality according to the price. Would be coming back if needed.
Feb 20, 2025 · Renato Hoyos PachecoNewly remodeled, updating being done, still more work to be done. The staff was pleasant, good sized rooms. No coffee in the room, had microwave, and stove, but no dishes.
May 29, 2024 · Joe VonderchekThe newly renovated rooms are absolutely beautiful! There was a lot of space and good size kitchen area. The price was very reasonable considering it was a weekend as well! Amazing staff and really easy check in process
Oct 05, 2023 · paige cookThere was a weird musty smell in the room. And, bathroom tub was getting clogged while taking showers, water going down very slowly, making half the bathtub filled with water after one bath. We just had a one night stay, so our basic needs or expectations from the room were not met and we didn't use other facilities to share further feedback.
