Very bad, we had 2 rooms reserved in another hotel for graduation months in advance. Then they downgraded us, saying they overbooked the other hotel. They charged us extra and we were on different floors. The carpet had red stains, a bug on the comforter, and the sheets smell really funny. The room air conditioner was off, turned it on then this awful odor keep coming, the bathroom wall had the Sheetrock was peeling off. Not safe to be even with socks on the carpet. The breakfast was mediocre, potatoes cold, fake eggs, even the coffee was cold. So, so disappointed. Overcharged us and I can tell they were taking advantage because is graduationg week. Please upgrade the hotel, and charge according to what you have to offer not like 5 start hotel

Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Anderson, SC Introduce

Positioned conveniently at 116 Interstate Blvd, Anderson, SC 29621, USA, Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Anderson, SC, is often a consideration for travelers searching on platforms like "Hotels Near Of Me." This hotel, part of the well-known Radisson brand, aims to offer a blend of comfort and convenience for both leisure and business travelers visiting the Anderson area. It was built in 2001 and underwent a complete renovation in May 2022, suggesting an effort to maintain modern standards and guest comfort.

Environment: Strategic Location and Hotel Ambiance

The Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Anderson, SC, is strategically situated off I-85 and Highway 76, providing easy access for those traveling by car. This location makes it a practical choice for visitors heading to Clemson University, Anderson University, or exploring the recreational opportunities around Lake Hartwell. The immediate environment around the hotel is typical of an interstate service area, with several dining options like Cracker Barrel, Wild Wing Cafe, Rigsby Smoked Burgers Wings and Grill, and Hooters located adjacent or nearby, offering convenient meal choices for guests. The hotel itself is a multi-story building, aiming for a welcoming and comfortable ambiance in its common areas, often featuring a fireplace in the lobby and a library for guests to relax. The property also offers free self-parking, including space for recreational vehicles, which can be a significant advantage for road-trippers. However, some guest reviews have mentioned concerns about strong cigarette smoke smells in public areas and around the check-in, which could detract from the overall ambiance for non-smokers.

Services: A Mix of Standard Offerings and Guest Feedback

Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Anderson, SC, offers a range of services designed to enhance the guest experience. A 24-hour front desk is available to assist with check-ins, check-outs, and any guest inquiries, with multilingual staff often on hand. A key service is the complimentary buffet breakfast, which typically includes hot options like eggs, bacon, and waffles, alongside continental staples. This is a valuable amenity for many travelers. Free premium WiFi is provided throughout the property, ensuring guests can stay connected. For those looking to maintain their fitness routine, there is an on-site fitness center. An indoor pool, described as a saltwater and heated pool, offers a space for relaxation and recreation. Laundry facilities are available, as well as dry cleaning services, which are useful for extended stays. A business center and a computer station are provided for guests needing to work. The hotel is pet-friendly, allowing cats and dogs for an extra charge per pet, per day (with service animals exempt), which is a significant plus for travelers with pets. However, guest feedback indicates inconsistencies in service quality. For example, issues have been reported with staff responsiveness for simple requests like bedding for sofa beds, and some guests have noted a lack of daily housekeeping services unless specifically requested, which is a departure from expected hotel standards. The general consensus from some recent reviews points to a need for more consistent attention to guest needs and prompt resolution of issues.

Features: Room Amenities and Reported Discrepancies

The hotel features 55 air-conditioned rooms spread across 5 floors, with various room types including King, Queen, and King Suites. Each room is typically equipped with essential amenities for a comfortable stay. These generally include a flat-screen TV with cable channels, a microwave, and a refrigerator, which are convenient for storing and preparing snacks. Private bathrooms come with a shower/tub combination, hairdryer, and complimentary toiletries. Rooms are also expected to have iron and ironing boards, and some may offer hypoallergenic bedding and free cribs/infant beds upon request. Despite the stated renovation in 2022, recent guest reviews highlight significant issues with room conditions. Common complaints include visible stains on carpets, sofa cushions, and even bedding, as well as cigarette burns. Some guests have reported problems with air conditioning units being pulled away from the wall, allowing views of the outside, and peeling Sheetrock in bathrooms. Loose bathroom fixtures, such as faucets and showerheads that are difficult to adjust, have also been mentioned. Furthermore, several guests have found the beds to be uncomfortably hard. These reported issues suggest that while the hotel aims to offer certain features, the actual condition and maintenance of these features in some rooms may not always meet guest expectations, impacting the overall comfort and cleanliness experience.

Promotional Information: Value Proposition and Location Highlights

Other nearby points of interest include the Anderson Civic Center (3 miles), Anderson Mall (4.2 miles), and the Anderson County Museum. The hotel also advertises various packages and offers, including Choice Privileges points accelerator packages, and often provides discounts for AAA members, corporate travelers, and government/military personnel. Let me begin by saying that my wife and I have always looked to book our overnight stays with Country Inn and suites if there was one in the area and have always been pleased with our choices. That ended with our stay this weekend. For starters when we pulled up there were people smoking by the check-in area and the lobby smelled of cigarettes. We stepped off the elevator on the third floor and again there was the strong smell of cigarette smoke coming from a room marked "Staff Only" just to the right of the elevator. Our room was a King Suite however it was so small there was hardly enough room to move around the room especially when our son pulled the sofa bed out. The sofa cushions had stains all over it and cigarette burns in it and so did the King bed for that matter. The heater/ac unit was pulled out away from the wall and you could actually look out and see the parking lot. My wife went down to the front desk to get the bedding for the sofa bed and was given a sheet and blanket but was told there were no pillows. The bathroom faucet was so loose that we were afraid it would break off, the shower head too was loose and couldn't be adjusted properly. The bed was rock hard and very uncomfortable. We had worked all day and just drove 2hrs to get to the motel so we were exhausted and just wanted to rest so we decided to tough it out. The breakfast was also horrible not even any orange juice or fresh fruit. I know this will get the vanilla response and life will go on. Just be leary of this motel in Anderson. By the way this was far from the cheapest in the area and have no problem paying for a nice motel. This was not it!

Not worth the price. Recent road-trip had my wife and her sister spending a night at this Country Inn and Suites in Anderson, SC. Conveniently located off of US-76 and I-85 with available restaurants and fast food chains within walking distance. Clemson and Anderson Universities are a short drive away. Check-in was easy and staff friendly. Standard two queen bed suite was clean with the usual amenities of flat screen tv, WI-FI , mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Beds were doable but a bit hard. Pool was clean, warm and being indoors a plus. No hot tub. Breakfast offered a variety of options but seemed to be depleted. Noting posted signs and talking with a friendly breakfast attendant the abuse and removal of breakfast items was an on-going problem. Breakfast offered bacon, breakfast potatoes, bagel toppers, make your own waffles, cold cereals, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, bagels, bread, pastries, coffee and juice. Breakfast area had limited seating. Did note that the room was in need of updating with water stained ceiling tiles, scarred door and broken mirror frame. Some of the other guests were a bit sketchy and the ladies resorted to staying in their room.

Ann from the front desk was very helpful and nice to talk to. Ive stayed here a few times and it's always clean. Breakfast is nice as well.

I used to stay at this hotel frequently a couple years ago. It has since gone downhill. Upon check in, staff were talking on speaker phone the entire time. I paid online for my reservation and she did not know how to process same. Pet fee was way over- priced. Not as clean as it used to be. I believe this hotel may be housing homeless people as the majority of their clientele and a couple people laying around the lobby at different hours. Does have a hot breakfast, but overall extremely overpriced. Will not be back.
