The front desk staff was very welcoming and helpful. It’s a large property and we really appreciated the help navigating the grounds from the front desk staff. We stayed one night in a suite. The room was spacious but not as clean as we’d expected. There was hair on the shower wall, foot prints visible in the bathroom on the tile, toilet paper roll had like 10 sheets on it and was folded over in a neat design rather than changed, and stains on one of the beds top sheets. For the price we paid I would’ve expected more effort. We just ended up removing the sheets and cleaned up on our own since we were only there one night. We were traveling with a toddler who was ready for bed as well so we didn’t want to hassle with changing rooms or having it cleaned while we waited. Also, didn’t care for housekeeping trying to get into our room in the morning before checkout. We checked out around 9:50am and there were two attempts to come into our room prior. That seemed very early and was a bit frustrating. On another note, the Turf restaurant was nice and the ground are beautiful. We may come back just for lunch one day but the room cleanliness/ experience was off putting.
For many of us in Wisconsin, the name Lake Geneva evokes images of upscale getaways, beautiful lakefronts, and a sense of refined recreation. Destination Geneva National stands as a cornerstone of this experience, presenting itself as a premier resort destination for golf enthusiasts, families, and anyone seeking a luxurious escape. This is a sprawling property with a variety of lodging options—from the modern vibe of the Lodge to the spaciousness of the Suites and the multi-bedroom Cottages—all designed to cater to different needs and group sizes. The resort is famous for its 54 holes of championship golf, with courses designed by legends Arnold Palmer, Gary Player, and Lee Trevino. Beyond the fairways, the resort offers a wide array of amenities, including multiple dining options, pools, and a host of recreational activities. However, it’s important to note that guest experiences can be varied, as evidenced by some customer reviews. While many guests praise the beautiful grounds, welcoming staff, and fantastic dining, others have expressed concerns about room cleanliness, maintenance, and check-in processes. This feedback suggests that while the resort aims for a high-end experience, there can be inconsistencies. For example, some guests have noted issues with rooms being less clean than expected for the price point, or with communication regarding check-in times. These details are crucial for setting realistic expectations, especially for locals who are looking to spend their hard-earned money on a quality experience. By understanding these potential issues, guests can be more proactive in communicating their needs to staff, ensuring a more positive and comfortable stay. Ultimately, Destination Geneva National offers a beautiful and amenity-rich environment, and with the right expectations, it can be the perfect setting for a memorable Wisconsin retreat.

May 14, 2025 · Alexa WoodardWHAT A JOKE OF A ROOM. CLASSIC BAIT AND SWITCH! No idea how a hotel that I recognized as professional and a quality brand thought it was acceptable to book out this room. What was sold to me as a REIMAGINED, luxury room at the Lodge building should be rebranded as “IMAGINE WHAT THIS ROOM COULD LOOK LIKE” Literally walked in a room that was probably rehabbed within the last month, including a new bath, but after that, it all falls apart. The entire floor I was on was under construction. The room I was in had no furnishings. So desperate to start generating revenue they tossed in a mattress and some old falling apart furniture… Im guessing from the old rooms. King sized mattress with old twin sized pillows. Threw a refridgrator on the floor, coffee make but no coffee. Aside from the flooring and walls, everything in the room needed to be replaced. Clearly first impressions was not something they cared about. Honestly, we just laughed. We travel A LOT and this was a first for us. Check in process was such a train wreck. We arrived at 1pm. They told us the room wasnt ready and they would text us when it was was. Great no worries. At 3pm, I went up to the front desk a 2nd time. Again, I was told the room was not ready, and they reminded me "WHEN IT IS, WE WILL TEXT YOU". At 5pm, no text. Now we are 1 hour past the standard check in time, so i went up to the front desk a 3rd time, and of course they go "SIR YOUR ROOM WAS READY AT 4PM, SORRY WE DIDNT TEXT YOU" Imagine the smoke coming out of my ears. And this was a MONDAY! Because we were only here a day, i didnt want to waste anymore energy complaining about this ridiculous room. We simply decided to take the L on this hotel. Shame on you Geneva National. Please see pictures attached, I will be also posting a video as well.
Jul 18, 2025 · R. M.Best resort all around experience in the Midwest. All three courses are top notch well maintained and gives lots of options with their tee sets. The greens are impeccable, and the scenery is beautiful. Music playing on the range is a vibe. Hitting balls into lake como on the range is top notch. The staff is overall accommodating greeted with a smile and or a story! The cart staff and bar staff are fun, attentive, and charismatic. Food at Turf is probably the best post round food I’ve ever had! Drinks are ice cold. Prices are competitive and overall for a weekend getaway or golf weekend, it’s one of the best around!
May 20, 2025 · Mike JakubowskiJust returned from a fabulous stay at BAYHILL cottage. Everything was top notch! Very modern decor and comfortable surroundings. The house was so spacious with high ceilings and beautiful beams. Fully equipped kitchen was great and the huge fireplace a plus. We enjoyed drinks and appetizers at Turf while taking in the awesome view. The young men at the front desk were efficient and accommodating, even coming out of the lobby to point us in the right direction. Staff were all friendly throughout the property. The scenery is peaceful and calming complete with many deer roaming around. I would highly recommend Geneva National and we will be back!
Apr 28, 2025 · Paula PreseckyRooms great. We had to request room to be made up. We received confirmation text our room would be cleaned and we were very disappointed when we arrived to our room at 4pm and room was dirty and cleaning crew was gone. Should not charge almost $500 per night and not clean rooms. We ate at Hunt Club night before on 6-23-25 and it was worse experience ever. Hostess forgot to seat us. Drinks took 45 minutes. $90 steak was cold and overcooked. Horrible experience.
