One of the main reasons we chose this hotel was the indoor pool, but unfortunately it's connected to the outdoor pool, making the water freezing cold. Plus, they charge an extra $17 for a simple continental breakfast. Our room was also missing a TV remote. On the bright side, the cookies were good.
Within the "Hotels Near Of Me" category, the DoubleTree by Hilton Atlanta Windy Hill Ballpark stands as a prominent accommodation option, particularly for those visiting the northwest Atlanta area. The DoubleTree by Hilton Atlanta Windy Hill Ballpark is strategically located in the Cumberland neighborhood, a bustling area known for its proximity to major attractions and corporate offices. Its most notable advantage is its close vicinity to Truist Park, home of the Atlanta Braves, and The Battery Atlanta, a vibrant mixed-use development offering a plethora of dining, shopping, and entertainment options. Guests can often reach these destinations within a short drive or even a walk, enhancing the overall convenience for baseball fans and entertainment seekers. The hotel is also well-situated for business travelers, with major corporations like IBM, Lockheed Martin, GE, Home Depot, and Coca-Cola Enterprises within a short drive. The hotel also offers accessible rooms with features like visual fire alarms and phone accessibility kits. While the hotel underwent renovations in 2019, maintaining its overall appeal, some guest feedback suggests ongoing maintenance issues with certain fixtures or room elements, indicating that the age of the building may present occasional challenges.
A hallmark of the DoubleTree brand is the warm chocolate chip cookie offered upon check-in, a beloved tradition that often receives positive mentions from guests. The hotel provides a variety of services to enhance the guest experience. Dining options include an on-site restaurant, Mondo Mocha Café, which serves modern American cuisine for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Guests can also enjoy an espresso/coffee bar and a full bar/lounge. It's important to note that while breakfast is available, it is typically a cooked-to-order service for a fee (ranging from approximately USD 10 to USD 26 per person). The hotel features both an indoor pool and an outdoor pool, offering recreational opportunities. However, some guests have reported that the indoor pool, being connected to the outdoor pool, can result in colder water temperatures. The pools are generally open from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM and come with sun loungers and umbrellas. For fitness enthusiasts, a 24-hour fitness center with modern cardio and strength training equipment is available. Business travelers will appreciate the 24-hour business center with complimentary WiFi, computers, and printing services, as well as 10 meeting rooms and over 10,000 square feet of flexible event space, including ballrooms, suitable for conferences, weddings, and other gatherings. The hotel is generally not pet-friendly.
The DoubleTree by Hilton Atlanta Windy Hill Ballpark actively promotes its proximity to Truist Park and The Battery Atlanta, offering shuttle services for events at the ballpark, which is a significant draw for many visitors. The "amazing staff" is frequently highlighted in guest reviews, with many praising employees for being understanding, helpful, and professional in their interactions. The complimentary chocolate chip cookies are consistently a high point for guests.
However, an objective introduction must also address areas for improvement based on customer feedback. Recurring issues reported by some guests include maintenance problems, such as non-functioning air conditioning in rooms and instances of water leaks from bathroom ceilings. While staff are generally commended for their efforts to resolve issues, some guests have expressed frustration with the hotel's ability to promptly address these problems, particularly during off-hours when maintenance might not be immediately available. There have also been mentions of minor oversights, such as missing TV remotes in rooms. The pricing of breakfast, being an additional charge, has been a point of contention for some who might expect a complimentary continental breakfast at this tier of hotel. Furthermore, the connected indoor/outdoor pool system has led to complaints about the water temperature, which can be a disappointment for guests specifically choosing the hotel for its indoor pool. While the hotel aims to provide a comfortable experience, consistent maintenance and clear communication regarding amenities are areas that, if improved, could significantly enhance the overall guest satisfaction.
In conclusion, the DoubleTree by Hilton Atlanta Windy Hill Ballpark, as a key offering within the "Hotels Near Of Me" category, serves as a convenient and generally comfortable lodging option for those visiting the Cobb Galleria and Truist Park area. Its prime location and dedicated staff are significant advantages. While it offers a range of desirable amenities including pools, dining, and business facilities, prospective guests should be mindful of past guest experiences regarding facility maintenance and the temperature of the connected pools when planning their stay.

Mar 22, 2025 · Shawn SnowMy family stayed at this hotel for two nights, and was moved to three different rooms. There were multiple issues at the hotel - the first being that the air conditioning in the room didn't work. When I spoke to a manager after the visit to discuss she said we should have been informed upon check-in and also said there were signs posted. We were NOT informed at check-in and the signs only indicated that there could be an issue with the hot water. On our second night we woke up to water pouring from our bathroom ceiling. The gentleman working the front desk came up and tried to reach maintenance but they were gone for the night. He moved us to another room. I have been offered a partial refund, but feel it should have been a full refund. The manager I spoke to seemed to have an attitude, claimed to have returned my call and left a message (my phone shows no missed calls or voicemails), and seemed to mock my "Blue" Hilton Honors level. Whether I am "Blue" or not should not matter - in fact the room was under my wife's account and not mine. Bottom line, the hotel is old and has numerous maintenance issues. The employees I spoke to while there were all understanding and tried to be helpful, but there is only so much they can do. This is not a hotel I would recommend until they address their issues with the aging building and current management.
Feb 04, 2025 · R StephensonWhen we arrive the smoke alarm was beeping for low battery. Wasn’t welcomed as a diamond member or told anything about what we receive at their hotel. The restaurant/bar area had all their lights off, the waitress didn’t approach us as we waited at the bar to be serviced, we had to go up to her and it was like we bothered her. There was only 1 person working in the entire hotel at night which is unsafe! When asked for extra towels was told have to come to the front desk. When we went to the front desk to get them he left us there to go get them and he was gone for a good 5 min. The outside pool had bugs in it. The system was down when we tried to check out and was told the invoice would be emailed that morning. Was never emailed.
Apr 27, 2025 · Amanda WestmorelandI booked a two night stay so that we could visit family in town and enjoy an indoor pool and jacuzzi. I called beforehand to make sure they had both an indoor pool and jacuzzi and was told yes. I chose this location that is further away from the events I’m attending because I so badly wanted to soak in the jacuzzi. I went down to the indoor pool/jacuzzi area and it was freezing because the sliding door that leads to the outdoor pool was open. I asked staff if it is supposed to be open and was informed that it is indeed always open-which essentially means everything is outdoor! I booked this specific hotel for these amenities so I was going to be a trooper and get in the jacuzzi despite the cold air coming in and as I was climbing in I noticed what I thought was a leaf but when I splashed it away it turned out to be brown sludge that looks like vomit. I’m now staying an hour away from the events I’m attending without access to the amenities I chose this hotel for. Other than that, everything is pretty standard. Room is clean, bathroom is a bit small but fine, and there are some fast food places within walking distance…oh and cookies.
Mar 07, 2025 · Danielle BlakeFront desk gentleman was great. Super helpful and checked us in no issue, got the room we booked, etc. Lovely bar, little pricey but that’s typical for hotel bars. Pool and hot tub are lovely, but FULL of playing children because of the location- only way to improve the pool is have an adult swim at a certain point, we all can appreciate children but we all don’t have them and we all don’t necessarily want to get splashed in the spa. That being said the hotel is TECHNICALLY kid friendly- but if you’re a couple looking for a night away, scope out the lobby
