I would give this place zero stars or less if I could. I was given a room with a clogged bathroom, and when I escalated the issue. The receptionist did me a favor by giving me a clean room after I paid $400 for my 2-day visit. For my recent visit from July 18th to July 20th, I had the worst experience of my life, which I will never forget. I am a Hilton Honors member, and I always book this hotel every time I visit Chicago. I checked-in my room on July 18th online and selected room 321, and I mentioned I would check in late, around 9, during my online check-in. When I actually checked in that night around 10, I was given room 272, which we didn't choose for ourselves. The bathroom was dirty, and the sheets did not smell fresh. My husband went to the front desk and complained about it. No action was taken. The bathroom clogged in the middle of the night. My husband and I went to the front desk and complained about it. The guy at reception said he would give us a new room the next day and get someone to fix the clogged toilet. Someone fixed the toilet at 8 am in the morning. From 12 am at night until 8 am, we were not able to use the bathroom. I asked multiple times at the front desk to get my room cleaned or give me another room; no action was taken. When I escalated by calling the Hilton customer service at 1 pm on July 19th, the customer support guy said someone would give me the new room soon. I went out to serve the purpose of the visit, and once I came back, the same receptionist from last evening was at the reception. She was very impolite to me and lied to me, saying there was no empty room, and when I called customer service again, she gave me a new room, and when I told customer service, she lied to me. She said she was doing me a favor by giving me a clean room. She misbehaved and tried to threaten me, saying we have cameras recording. This was total racial discrimination, and she looked down upon me. I need an apology for their bad behavior and want management to address my issue.

The DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Chicago Wood Dale - Elk Grove is located at 1200 N Mittel Blvd, Wood Dale, IL 60191, USA. This location places it squarely in the western suburbs of Chicago, an area known for its industrial parks, corporate headquarters, and proximity to O'Hare International Airport. The hotel's address is very convenient for business travelers visiting the numerous companies in Wood Dale and Elk Grove Village. It's also a suitable location for those needing to stay near the airport without being directly in the midst of its activity.
For Illinois residents, the hotel's accessibility is a key factor. Situated near major highways like I-290, I-355, and the I-90/I-294 corridor, it is relatively easy to reach from many parts of the state. This makes it a practical choice for a business trip or for locals who need to be close to O'Hare for an early morning flight. The hotel is situated in a business park area, which means while it's well-connected for drivers, it may be a bit isolated from the local shops and restaurants of a traditional downtown area. The convenience for travelers with cars is high, but those relying on public transportation may find it more challenging. The location is an asset for anyone whose purpose of visit is tied to the corporate or travel-related activities of the area, providing a functional and strategic home base for their stay in the Chicago suburbs.

On-Site Dining: The hotel is equipped with a restaurant, but customer feedback indicates that its hours of operation can be inconsistent. One review noted the restaurant was only open three out of nine days of their stay, which is a significant drawback for guests relying on this service.
Guest Room Amenities: Rooms are equipped with a microwave, but a review mentioned a "filthy" one, suggesting a lack of maintenance. The rooms also have sheer curtains that may be torn, and a limited number of electrical sockets, which can be an inconvenience for guests traveling with multiple devices.
Housekeeping: A key service that has been a point of contention in customer reviews is housekeeping. One guest mentioned not receiving maid service for five days and having to get linens from the desk, which points to a potential staffing or service issue.
Hotel Credits: For Hilton Honors members, the hotel has a specific policy for using hotel credits, which one guest mentioned could only be used in the restaurant. The inconsistent restaurant hours could make this service difficult to utilize for members.
Pool Access: The hotel does have a pool, but a review mentioned it was often "overrun with kids" and lacked towels, suggesting potential management issues with this amenity.
Staff Assistance: While staff are available at the front desk, reviews indicate that getting assistance can be a lengthy process, with guests having to "wait at least 25 min or track down the desk clerk" for help.

Staff Interaction: The experience with staff is a major highlight, albeit for negative reasons in the provided reviews. One customer had a particularly distressing encounter with front desk staff and a supervisor, which included unprofessional and disrespectful behavior. Another review mentions a long wait time for assistance from staff.

Jul 22, 2025 · Afreen Siddiquithe room was semi comfortable. it was clean. no maid service for 5 days, I had to get linens from the desk. I had to wait at least 25 min or track down the desk clerk to get any help. the trash cans outside were overflowing for three days including the one inside. never fresh coffee. microwave was filthy. there is about an inch gap between the room door and the floor. I had to place a towel there every night. the sheer curtains in my room were torn. and only 3 electric sockets??! most people travel with numerous electronics and I had to go buy a surge protector just to be able to plug everything in. there was some strange smell I could not identify when I walked in. I bought air freshener to make it tolerable. the hotel is very dated and needs cleaned up and redone. I can see it probably used to be a beautiful hotel but it has not been kept up. you can not use your hotel credits except in the restaurant which is never open. I was here a little over a week for work and the restaurant was open 3 days out of the nine I stayed. the pool was normally overrun with kids and never had towels. the courtyard was dirty and needed mowed. cigarette butts everywhere. I am a diamond member and I was so disappointed with this hotel. I have stayed in many Hilton brand hotels and by far this was the worst I have seen. Honestly if I did not have to work that week I would have left. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!
Jul 06, 2025 · Laura JonesThis is one of the worst hotel stays I’ve had. I’m not usually picky, but the room was clearly not cleaned properly—dust was everywhere, and there was visible hair in the shower even though I hadn’t used it. I tried calling the front desk and got no answer, so I had to go downstairs in person to report the issue, which was very inconvenient. On top of that, the layout of the hotel is odd—if you have luggage, be prepared to walk a long distance from the elevator to your room. What made the experience worse was the $50 late checkout fee. I had asked for a 12:00 PM checkout and left around 12:30 PM, but was still charged. They said “no matter how late you are, even a minute, it’s $50”—which feels excessive and rigid, especially when housekeeping wasn’t even nearby. Really disappointing experience, especially for a well-known hotel brand. What action are you actually taking besides replying to every negative review with the same copy-pasted response and a phone number? I called the number — it simply redirected me to the front desk. If the front desk had been able to resolve the issue, would I have had to write multiple emails and leave negative reviews? I left my email with the staff and was told the property manager would contact me. It’s been three days, and I haven’t received any follow-up. It’s clear that you’re ignoring valid complaints from guests who are all telling the truth. Rather than taking responsibility, you’re refusing even the most basic compensation and continuing to offer a consistently terrible experience to future guests.
Jul 22, 2025 · Lin ShenAt first glance, this hotel looks decent from the outside, but don’t be fooled. Once inside, the condition of the room was shocking. The interior is extremely outdated, with visible cracks on the ceiling that made the whole place feel neglected. The hair dryer in our room was broken, and it took the entire day to get it replaced—even after we had to call the front desk again to remind them. The level of service was very slow and unprofessional. Worst of all, the bed sheets were dirty. Two of my friends developed itchy skin rashes after sleeping in the beds. This raises serious concerns about the hotel’s hygiene and cleanliness standards. Overall, I would not recommend staying here. There are much better and cleaner options available for the same price.
Jul 15, 2025 · Kelvin YuI've stayed here several times for work, it is in a very convenient location and I really like the dirt trail that's about 1.6 miles long for a safe morning running route. My latest trip was this past week and I was less than enthused by my front desk experience where my ID was never checked upon checking in. I got to my assigned room which was announced out lout by the front desk employee (another major safety no no) and the room did not have a deadbolt in place. I went back down to the front and requested another room where again, my ID was never checked and room number was said aloud again. The next room had a deadbolt and was clean enough and I was fine but next time I'm in the area I will most definitely be staying somewhere else.
