I recently stayed at here and the whole experience was an absolute disappointment. First off, I was excited to use the Jacuzzi, which ran me an extra $60, but it turned out to be nonworking. Instead of a relaxing experience, I was left frustrated and feeling cheated. To make matters worse, the water in the Jacuzzi had a terrible smell, reminiscent of debri in the pipes, smoke, and other unpleasant odors, which made it completely unusable. The overall cleanliness of the hotel was shocking. The rooms were poorly maintained, and the stench lingered throughout the place. I felt uncomfortable just being there. To top it all off, I woke up one morning with bites on my skin, only to discover that I had been bitten by bedbugs during my stay. This was the last straw for me. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a pleasant and safe experience. The combination of a nonworking Jacuzzi, foul smells, and bedbug bites made my stay unbearable. Save your money and find a place that values cleanliness and guest comfort.
For those searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in Reading, Pennsylvania, particularly with budget and last-minute travel in mind, the Econo Lodge Airport presents itself as an option. Located at 2017 Bernville Rd, Reading, PA 19601, USA, this hotel is positioned to serve travelers requiring basic accommodation near the Reading Regional Airport. For inquiries or reservations, the hotel can be contacted at (610) 736-0400 or +1 610-736-0400.
Operating within the "Hotels Near Of Me" category, the Econo Lodge Airport typically caters to guests seeking essential lodging services at an economical price point. As part of the Econo Lodge brand, it generally focuses on providing fundamental amenities without extensive luxuries, aligning with a value-driven travel approach. Its primary offering is a place to stay, aiming to serve as a convenient stopover or a simple base for exploring the Reading area.
The environment of the Econo Lodge Airport, based on recent customer reviews, indicates a property in need of significant updates. The overwhelming sentiment is that "The entire place needs a remodel." This suggests that the interior and exterior may appear dated and show signs of wear and tear. Specific environmental concerns raised by guests include a pervasive "stench" throughout the place, described as "unpleasant odors" reminiscent of "smoke" and "debris in the pipes," which creates an uncomfortable atmosphere. The general cleanliness of the hotel is explicitly described as "shocking" and "poorly maintained." While the location near an airport might imply some ambient noise, the core environmental issue seems to stem from the hotel's internal condition and upkeep. For guests, the visual and olfactory environment can significantly impact their comfort and perception of the stay, leading to a feeling of being "uncomfortable just being there." This objective assessment of the environment suggests that guests prioritizing a pristine or modern setting may find it disappointing.
Regarding services, the Econo Lodge Airport offers the basic functionalities expected from a budget hotel, though their execution and quality, as highlighted by customer experiences, can be problematic. A key service that led to significant guest disappointment was the "Jacuzzi," which was advertised and incurred an "extra $60" charge but "turned out to be nonworking." This indicates a failure to deliver on a promised amenity for which a premium was paid. Furthermore, the water in the non-working Jacuzzi was described as having a "terrible smell," making it "completely unusable," compounding the service failure. While the hotel would typically offer a 24-hour front desk for check-in and assistance, and likely provide fundamental housekeeping, the overall "cleanliness" of the rooms and the property's maintenance services are heavily criticized. The most severe service failure reported was a guest waking up with "bites on my skin" and discovering "bedbugs," which is a critical health and safety concern that speaks directly to the quality of hygiene and pest control services. While the hotel's aim is to provide a functional stay, these reported issues suggest significant gaps in service delivery and property management that directly impact guest well-being and satisfaction. It is implied that for "cheap and last min" stays, basic services like accommodation are available, but the quality of these services is highly inconsistent.
The features of the Econo Lodge Airport's rooms and amenities are described in a manner that points to functionality over luxury, and in some cases, a lack of proper working order. A "Jacuzzi" is listed as a feature, though as noted, it was non-functional and had an unpleasant smell. Rooms are likely to include a bed, with one review stating the "Bed was comfy," which is a positive note amidst other issues. Televisions are generally standard features in hotel rooms, but one review explicitly mentioned that the "tv didn't work." The presence of "new furniture" was desired by a guest, suggesting that the existing furniture is worn or outdated ("Deff needs new furniture"). While not explicitly stated in the provided reviews, Econo Lodge typically offers free Wi-Fi, and some may include a complimentary continental breakfast, though this wasn't mentioned as a positive or negative feature here. The primary features of the rooms, such as the bed and TV, experienced mixed functionality. The inclusion of a room number (Room 211) in one review suggests that issues might be specific to certain rooms or more widespread. The overall impression is that while basic features are present, their condition and reliability are inconsistent, aligning with a budget offering that prioritizes low cost over comprehensive functionality and modern amenities. The lack of proper maintenance significantly impacts the effectiveness of these features for guest use.
From a promotional standpoint, the Econo Lodge Airport would likely target travelers searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" with a strong emphasis on affordability and proximity to the airport or other local attractions. Its name, "Econo Lodge," inherently promotes an economical price point, which is often a primary draw for budget-conscious travelers or those needing last-minute accommodation. The phrase "for cheap and last min its perfect" from a review supports this core promotional appeal. However, the severe negative feedback from customers presents a significant challenge to any positive promotional efforts. Direct endorsements like "I would not recommend this hotel to anyone" and "Save your money and find a place that values cleanliness and guest comfort" are powerful counter-promotions. The issues with the non-working Jacuzzi (despite being charged extra), foul smells, lack of cleanliness, and the presence of bedbugs directly undermine any claims of comfort, value, or a pleasant experience. While the hotel might promote standard Econo Lodge amenities, the actual guest experiences indicate that prospective customers should consider these serious concerns. For individuals actively searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" and evaluating options, the readily available customer reviews would likely lead to caution or deter booking. The promotional focus would therefore need to address and demonstrably rectify these reported issues to regain traveler trust and align perception with any advertised value. Without significant improvements, the current customer feedback acts as a strong disclaimer against its suitability for a comfortable and safe stay, despite its low price point.

May 17, 2025 · Ryan MacleodStaff was friendly and was a good nights rest. Miss the good old days seeing concerts at The Silo next to the Econo Lodge. Wish that place could be reborn.
Mar 31, 2025 · Derek ErtelRented their ballroom. Has potential but very outdated. The day we went to decorate, there was trash can with water ceiling leaking, the place had no heat it was freezing cold, they offer the table linen and chair covers, the table linen was dirty and chair cover had holes and rips, Lucky with decorations it wasn't as noticeable.. and the fact that I busted my ass cleaning the place to get my deposit back and I been reaching out and being ignored is very unprofessional.. I should had left it dirty.. they dont even deserve 1 star..
Dec 06, 2024 · Dinorah SantiagoOur group booked seven rooms for an overnight stay. What a nightmare! The hotel was outdated but that was not a concern. They were filthy! Some rooms had no smoke alarms, only wires hanging from the ceiling. Another had plastic covering the alarm. Other issues included cracked/stained lampshades, burn holes in the bed spreads, curtains falling off the windows, used bar of soap in the shower, chewed bubble gum on the plastic cups that are included with the ice bucket, an overwhelming smell of marijuana, non working lamps, mold in the bathroom, etc. I'd give negative stars if it was an option
