We stayed over a Fri/Sat weekend. The staff was very friendly and helpful, so much so that my wife commented about how nice they were on our way home. The room was fine, clean, minimally furnished and a bit small when compared to other hotels we have stayed at. The TV offered basic cable but there was no printed channel guide and the guide on channel 98 didn't work, so it was a lot of flipping to find something worth watching. No HBO or other movie channels that I could find. The bathroom had a great double sized shower with decent pressure and hot water. I was surprised that there were no grab bars, and with the soft water, the floor does get a bit slippery. The hotel offers a hot breakfast bar. On Saturday morning we were up early and had scrambled eggs, sausage, oatmeal, juice and coffee. Sunday morning a hoard of little league ball player beat us to the food, leaving only the oatmeal. They do offer a nice selection of toppings, so we were fine. Overall the breakfast was better then most hotels in this price range. The location is in a commercial area with a mix of medical and other business buildings. If you are looking for a walk, there is a service road behind the hotel that leads up to a water tower and offers nice views into the valley.

Fairfield Inn & Suites Reading Wyomissing Introduce

For local users in Reading, PA, specifically those looking for "Hotels Near Me" in the Wyomissing area, the Fairfield Inn & Suites Reading Wyomissing by Marriott is a frequently considered lodging option. Located at 21 Meridian Blvd, Reading, PA 19610, USA, this hotel is part of the extensive Marriott portfolio, often implying a certain standard of quality and guest experience. The hotel can be contacted directly at (610) 376-4400 or via mobile at +1 610-376-4400.

An objective introduction to the Fairfield Inn & Suites Reading Wyomissing involves a thorough examination of its environment, services, features, and promotional appeal, drawing insights from recent customer feedback. The reviews provided offer a comprehensive look at both the hotel's strengths and areas for improvement, providing a realistic picture for potential guests.

Environment

The Fairfield Inn & Suites Reading Wyomissing is situated in a "commercial area with a mix of medical and other business buildings." This positioning suggests a relatively quiet and professional environment, appealing to both business travelers and those visiting local institutions. While it might not be in a bustling downtown area, its location offers a certain tranquility away from heavy traffic. For those who enjoy a walk, a "service road behind the hotel that leads up to a water tower and offers nice views into the valley" is highlighted as a pleasant outdoor feature, providing a scenic escape. However, a notable drawback in the immediate pedestrian environment is the lack of "proper, or in some case any, sidewalks" leading to a nearby strip mall with restaurants and shops. This makes walking to amenities "a bit frustrating," suggesting that guests might largely rely on vehicular transport for dining and shopping outside the hotel. The overall environment, while good for accessibility to certain businesses, lacks pedestrian-friendly infrastructure for casual strolls to nearby commercial areas.

Services

The service at the Fairfield Inn & Suites Reading Wyomissing receives consistent and overwhelmingly positive feedback. The staff is repeatedly praised for being "very friendly and helpful." Specific mention is made of Kim and Ethan, who are described as "AMAZING," greeting guests every time they came through the door and promptly taking care of any requests. This level of personalized and attentive service significantly enhances the guest experience. The hotel offers a "hot breakfast bar," which is a standard complimentary service for Fairfield Inn properties. While the breakfast "ends a bit early for my liking," a common sentiment for many hotels, the quality is generally considered "better then most hotels in this price range." Despite an instance where "a hoard of little league ball player beat us to the food" leaving only oatmeal, the availability of a "nice selection of toppings" and consistent replenishment of "fresh eggs and protein available along with many breads, bagels and oatmeal" indicates a commitment to maintaining a well-stocked and varied breakfast offering. The availability of "an array of milk, dairy and non, as well as juices, coffee and yogurts" further demonstrates attention to diverse dietary needs. The overall impression is that guests feel well taken care of by a courteous and efficient team.

Features

The hotel's features present a mix of updated amenities and areas needing attention. The hotel has been "recently updated with fresh paint, new carpet and some new furniture," contributing to a "very nice and fun colors" aesthetic. Rooms are described as "clean and smell clean," which are fundamental expectations for any guest. While rooms are "minimally furnished and a bit small when compared to other hotels," they are generally considered "fine" and "clean." The bathroom features a "great double sized shower with decent pressure and hot water," a definite plus for many travelers. However, the absence of grab bars in the shower and the "soft water" making the floor "a bit slippery" are noted safety concerns. In-room entertainment includes "basic cable," but the lack of a printed channel guide and a non-working on-screen guide makes finding something to watch "a lot of flipping." The absence of premium channels like HBO or other movie channels might be a drawback for some. A significant area of concern revolves around the recreational amenities. The hotel pool was closed for maintenance during two separate extended stays for one guest, once for a "paint update" and then for an entire week. Similarly, the fitness room had "a vast majority of their machines out of order except one treadmill," limiting workout options. These persistent closures and malfunctions of advertised amenities are a significant downside, as guests "pay a premium for" these features. The presence of a waffle maker at breakfast is a popular feature, though it "would benefit from some butter spray." The general cleanliness and fresh smell of the updated interiors are strong positives.

Promotional Information

For users searching "Hotels Near Me," the Fairfield Inn & Suites Reading Wyomissing has several compelling promotional angles. Its association with the Marriott brand provides an immediate assurance of quality for many travelers. The standout feature is its exceptionally friendly and helpful staff, particularly highlighted by names like Kim and Ethan, which fosters a welcoming and pleasant atmosphere. This is a critical differentiator in the competitive hotel market. The recently updated interiors, described as clean, fresh, and modern with "fun colors," can also be a significant draw, especially for those who prioritize a well-maintained aesthetic. The complimentary hot breakfast, widely praised for its quality and variety, is another strong selling point, offering good value. The location in a commercial area may appeal to business travelers, and the scenic service road offers a unique recreational opportunity. However, any promotional efforts must also transparently address the ongoing issues with the pool and fitness center. Acknowledging these limitations while emphasizing that efforts are being made to "address both of these issues" would be a more honest approach. For potential guests, the hotel can be positioned as a reliable, clean, and friendly option for both short and extended stays, particularly for those who value excellent service and a good breakfast, and who are either less reliant on on-site recreational facilities or are willing to confirm their availability prior to booking. Despite the amenity issues, the overall positive guest experiences, particularly regarding staff and cleanliness, position it as a strong 4/5 hotel with "great potential to be higher" once the amenities are fully operational.

I have stayed at this hotel twice, once for an entire month and once for a week. Both times I primarily spoke with and was handled by Kim and Ethan who are AMAZING! I was greeted every time I came through the door, any requests I had were promptly taken care of and overall they greatly improved the experience just by being themselves. The hotel itself has been recently updated with fresh paint, new carpet and some new furniture all of which is very nice and fun colors! I also find the rooms to be clean and smell clean! Breakfast is available here, ends a bit early for my liking but so do most other hotels these days! There’s a waffle maker that would benefit from some butter spray but other than that there’s always fresh eggs and protein available along with many breads, bagels and oatmeal. They have an array of milk, dairy and non, as well as juices, coffee and yogurts. Nothing to write home about but always clean and well stocked! Now for the downside.. The hotel pool was receiving a paint update the first time I was there so it was closed for about a week and the second time it was closed my entire week’s stay! The fitness room also had a vast majority of their machines out of order except one treadmill. I hope over the coming months they can address both of these issues to allow guests to access the features they pay a premium for. This location also doesn’t have much immediately around it except other businesses and the Wyomissing borough didn’t invest in proper, or in some case any, sidewalks so walking down to the strip mall where there’s a bunch of restaurants and shops can be a bit frustrating. Overall a 4/5 with great potential to be higher with the amenities fixed up.

Kim the lady that worked the afternoon shift Friday and Saturday this past weekend was GREAT. The rooms were average. Lots of noise, doors slamming, testing and people talking. Lots to do close to the hotel. I would stay there again. The breakfast varieties could be better. The breakfast lady was great

Room was fine but wasn’t cleaned well. There were brown/red stains on the new bath towels as well as multiple long hairs. Gym was bare bones, understandable, but disgustingly dirty. There were minimal options for breakfast. First floor stairwell door was broken and left agar to the outside….im on day two and still not fixed and still left open. So much for any security. Front desk staff was notified. Pool was dirty and uncleaned

Second amazing stay here. We were a rowdy bunch and it snowed the day we were there so we were stuck in the hotel with a bunch of kids. We were loud and the lady at the front desk handled us with grace. She was amazing, and I wish I remembered her name. Breakfast was amazing, everything was clean and amazing!
