Thank goodness it’s closing this weekend I stayed here back in 2013 and it was deplorable then and over the years the property had went down the only person who benefited from this was Louis and his family bc they had knocked out several rooms to accommodate them and there family members. It’s like they had an apartment and was set up nice . It didn’t match the property and for them to allow the property to be rented is sad. Also Ali the owner cares less his property in Marietta is disgraceful Citizens deserve better I pray they demolish all properties.

Economy Hotel Roswell Introduce

For individuals searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in Roswell, Georgia, particularly for extended stays, it is critical to note that the Economy Hotel Roswell, located at 9995 Old Dogwood Rd, Roswell, GA 30076, USA, has recently been subject to an emergency order for closure by the City of Roswell. This information significantly impacts any objective introduction of the hotel, as its operational status is no longer active as of Saturday, May 10, 2025. Therefore, this introduction will provide an overview based on its past operational context and recent public reports.

Environment and Location (Historical Context)

Prior to its closure, Economy Hotel Roswell was situated in a part of Roswell, GA, near Old Dogwood Road, offering accessibility to major thoroughfares like GA-400 and I-285. This location was intended to provide a convenient base for guests, whether they were visiting for short-term business or extended stays. Proximity to Roswell's historic district, the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area, and various local restaurants and shopping centers was often highlighted as a benefit. The hotel aimed to cater to budget-conscious travelers seeking an affordable option in the area.

However, customer reviews and recent reports from the City of Roswell paint a more concerning picture of the immediate and broader environment. While one recent review praised a "positive difference in the environment" and noted a "family environment" with occasional community gestures like pizza offerings, other long-term accounts described the property as "deplorable" and indicated a decline over the years. Concerns were raised about living conditions within the property, with some rooms allegedly being altered for family members of staff or owners. More significantly, recent city actions leading to the closure cited a "long history of public safety complaints" and a link to criminal activity, including human trafficking investigations. The hotel's location was even noted to be next to the city's future Public Safety Headquarters, a project aimed at strengthening emergency response in areas with high call volumes, indicating a pre-existing awareness of issues in the vicinity. The overall environment, as described by authorities, posed "an immediate threat to health and safety" due to numerous code violations.

Services and Amenities (Historical Context)

As an extended stay hotel, Economy Hotel Roswell aimed to provide basic services and amenities for guests on longer visits, typically at an affordable price point. Public information indicated features such as free Wi-Fi, air-conditioned rooms, free on-site parking, and a 24-hour front desk. Some rooms were advertised to include basic kitchenette facilities like a microwave and refrigerator, which are standard for extended stay properties, allowing guests to prepare some of their own meals. Laundry facilities on-site were also commonly expected for such accommodations. The hotel also offered flexible check-in/check-out times, which could be beneficial for long-term guests. Room options generally included single, double, or suite configurations to accommodate various needs.

However, the actual provision and quality of these services, according to customer feedback and official reports, were highly inconsistent and often severely lacking. Reviews from guests mentioned issues such as rooms without TVs, non-functional toilets, faucets, and bathing areas, exposed lighting fixtures in bathrooms, and widespread water leaks and mold. These reports stand in stark contrast to the expected amenities and basic hygiene standards of any lodging establishment. The emergency order for closure detailed a list of severe hazards, including a non-functional fire alarm system, blocked emergency exits, exposed wiring, lack of fire extinguishers, malfunctioning lighting and elevators, structural deterioration, and unpermitted construction. These issues indicate a fundamental failure to provide safe and functional accommodations.

Features of the Extended Stay Hotel (Historical Context)

The concept behind an economy extended stay hotel like Economy Hotel Roswell was to offer functional, practical lodging solutions for guests requiring stays of weeks or even months. The key features typically included rooms designed for longer occupancy, often with a workspace, comfortable beds, and essential in-room appliances. The intention was to provide a "home-from-home" experience, prioritizing affordability and self-sufficiency over luxury amenities.

Despite this intention, the provided customer reviews and official reports paint a picture of severe disrepair and neglect. Features such as structural integrity were compromised, with stairs reportedly rusted to a point where they could give way. The basic functionality of plumbing and electrical systems was reportedly deficient, posing significant safety hazards. While some positive recent feedback credited Manager Linda and other staff for making "great improvement" and fostering a "family environment," suggesting efforts to enhance the guest experience and address issues, this appears to have been insufficient to mitigate the long-standing and systemic problems identified by city officials. The disparity between the stated aims and the reported conditions is substantial. It is also mentioned that certain rooms were allegedly "knocked out to accommodate" the family members of the property's management, indicating internal inconsistencies in property management and usage.

Promotional Information (Historical Context & Current Reality)

Historically, Economy Hotel Roswell promoted itself as a source for "affordable extended stay accommodations with flexible weekly rates and 4-week specials." Its marketing emphasized being a budget-friendly option for long-term guests, providing an alternative to more expensive traditional hotels. The hotel aimed to attract travelers looking for cost-conscious lodgings that offered essential services for a pleasant trip, highlighting its convenient location near local transport, GA-400, and I-285, and proximity to Roswell's historic sights, restaurants, and shopping.

However, any previous promotional claims are now entirely superseded by the official closure. The City of Roswell issued an emergency order requiring the hotel to cease operations and vacate all occupants by Saturday, May 10, 2025, due to "numerous code violations that pose an immediate threat to health and safety." These violations included life safety issues ranging from electrical to structural problems, and the property has also been linked to ongoing criminal activity, including human trafficking. City officials, in collaboration with local non-profits, have been actively assisting the hundreds of residents, many of whom used the hotel as short-term housing, to find alternative accommodations. Therefore, while it previously presented itself as an affordable extended stay option, its current status means it is no longer available for booking, and its operational history is marked by significant public safety concerns.

Well after almost a year living here, never being late on payment and giving my time and own money to help, for what?! The people here are great, sure there are some activities that aren't great but nothing outrageous. As far as price and accommodations spend a little more and stay some place else.
