The first room we got, I was so tired. I didn’t even notice that there were no pillowcases on the pillows and it wasn’t until we turned over and realized that there was blood on the pillows that has been there. God knows how long., The non-smoking hotel stunk like stale cigarettes in the room was not any better, The hallways smell like urine. The room had bugs coming in The window air conditioning unit and the bed wasn’t even attached to the wall. They were no towels. We asked to have things brought to the room that they advertise in the room and by the front desk that they offer and we had to go down and retrieve them and didn’t even get enough items to accommodate our needs.(And there’s only two of us), They moved us to another room only to find out that they got better at hiding the cigarette smell, but eventually it comes out, We managed to be able to get linens on our bed this time and no blood on the pillowcases but when you step in the shower after you have to carefully not touch the black mold that’s there what appears to be a bathmat is more likely a patch in the bathtub covering a hole, Because when you stand in the tub, it feels like you’re going to fall through! Let’s not even discuss the lack of nourishment that’s available for clients because the vending machine machines don’t work , And the so-called free breakfast that they give you in the morning, consists of stale breakfast bars, and pre-wrapped muffins of some sort with no expiration date on them! This is by far the worst experience I have ever had at any of the extended stays, And I stay at them very frequently! And given the area and the clientele, You would think that they would do better considering the very elite competition within walking distance-Which I know because I walked over to the hotel next-door and made a reservation for the remainder of my stay and I am not coming back to this hotel! Very disappointed! They couldn’t even bother having a vending machine with water that works! Save you’re time & go next door Paris Hilton hasn’t failed anyone.

The core philosophy of the brand is to offer the essentials of home, most notably a fully equipped kitchen, at a price point that is often more economical than traditional hotels for long-term stays. The hotel's value is in its practicality, aiming to provide a functional and independent living situation where guests can cook their own meals and manage their own space. For people in the Illinois region, the Extended Stay America - Chicago - Woodfield Mall is a suitable option for those who are in a specific situation where cost and location are the primary factors. For local businesses bringing in contractors or temporary employees, this hotel offers a practical and affordable lodging solution. The in-room kitchens and laundry facilities can help employees feel more at home and save on expenses. For a family in transition, perhaps waiting for a new home to be ready or undergoing a major home renovation, the hotel provides a functioning living space without the complexities of a lease. However, based on the highly critical public reviews regarding cleanliness, customer service, and property maintenance, potential guests should be very cautious and consider this as a functional, last-resort option. The presence of more elite competition within walking distance, as one reviewer noted, means that for a slightly higher price, a guest may find a much more pleasant experience. Therefore, while it serves a specific niche, it is a hotel that locals should approach with a full understanding of its potential drawbacks, choosing it only when its specific benefits—namely, a low price point and a full kitchen—outweigh its documented issues.

Jun 05, 2025 · lynn La VitaOur room was clean and fresh. The beds were very small and disappointing to sleep in. The front desk staff was nice at first. When we stayed here a few weeks, the staff became rude and disrespectful. The girls and the manager Corrina were rude and talked really badly to us and other customers. That was unacceptable to us. We will never come back here. They will give away your room and blame you for it. Just stupidity. Never stay here, people. The whole staff needs some customer service training for sure. Book at your own risk!
Jul 24, 2025 · Chef Marcia BrookinsI was in the neighborhood visiting family and friends decided to stay at this hotel cuz it was conveniently near the mall and a couple restaurants we were going to be checking out. My room was cleaned the hotel staff was very friendly and very engaging. The room had a small smell but management was able to provide me with air freshener which resolved the issue quite quickly. If I was back in the neighborhood I definitely stay here for a quick stop.
Feb 20, 2025 · mookie medina*Edited to reflect attempts to alleviate my issues. Iesha, the Assistant GM, was the only one who provided us with good customer service here 🙏🏼 And I KNOW that she spoke to her staff a couple of different times here but it honestly didn’t improve the CS aspect, the younger desk clerk might as have been a teenager, and you still would have gotten better service 😪 Including an incident involving the cleaning staff WATCHING ME LITERALLY JUST WALK OUT OF MY ROOM, I am terminally ill and am very lucky to be able to walk at all, but I had forgotten to grab my key walking out of the door and realized it just the door closed. So I literally looked 15 feet where the staff was looking right and ask them to please let me back into my room because I forgot my key on my counter where they very rudely refused and told me I had to go all the way up to the front desk toget a new key And then when I mentioned something about it to the front desk girl, and she went and asked them about it they got mouthy with her🤯🤯🤯 It’s bad enough that disabled people like myself are treated badly enough anyway without having to worry about being treated like that in the service industry. But as I said, Iesha definitely listened to my concerns and validated them, and I fully expect when I come back through again that thing will be different in many ways. She genuinely wants to “better” the current service and I thank her for the added effort she put forth to make things right despite how reticent her staff was Right off the bat this place fell short. A dear friend of mine that I traveled 700 miles to visit because she’s dying of cancer and I drove most of it in a day. Literally all I wanted to do was relax and watch a little tv. But after I get everything unpacked and into the room I discovered that my tv remote needed batteries. I go to the desk and let the girl know and she starts talking to me like I am a four year old who can’t tell whether a remote control needs batteries or not 🤯 AND THEN her solution was FOR ME to move all of my stuff to another room, I am disabled AND terminal! Instead of doing the intelligent thing which would have been to simply replace the batteries!!! She could have just as easily gotten them from a room with no occupant since apparently they didn’t have backups at the desk! Literally this girl, she was extremely young, was doing EVERYTHING she could NOT to do anything!!! She put out more effort not helping than she would have had she simply done this EXTREMELY SIMPLE THING! I definitely would not recommend this place to anyone. And that’s just based on their basic customer service! Heaven forbid I need something important 😢 And it just keeps going! I wake up this morning and accidentally left my room without my key, there was THREE staff members RIGHT THERE and when I asked if they could please let me back into my room I was straight up refused!!! And FORCED as a result of this to have to go back and forth Five times just to get back in my room. AND THEN, the front desk girl starts grilling me about things that have already been notated in my reservation!!! I have filed a formal complaint with corporate but am now terrified of being retaliated on as a result of this 😭 As a traveling outreach minister who uses hotels A LOT I can wholeheartedly say that I will absolutely no longer be utilizing this particular hotel group for ANY OF MY STAYS, ANYWHERE! At this point, given the grief and difficulties that the staff here have caused me I would be more comfortable sleeping in my car 🤯 IDC how inexpensive the room is! My friend still paid over two hundred dollars for me to have a room here while visiting her.
Apr 04, 2025 · J JacksonThe Extended stay America exceeded my expectations! The room was not only affordable but also comfortable, with a cozy bed and great amenities. The hotel offering a peaceful atmosphere. The staff was always available and eager to help with any requests such as extra blankets and towels and Night shift guy help me with the steps how to access free wifi, very helpful. It’s in a prime location, just a short drive from shopping and entertainment. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the area!
