For individuals exploring "Hotels Near Of Me" with a focus on extended stays in the Bethpage, New York area, Extended Stay America - Long Island - Bethpage is a property located at 905 S Oyster Bay Rd, Bethpage, NY 11714, USA. The hotel can be reached at (516) 349-8759 or via mobile at +1 516-349-8759. This introduction aims to provide an objective overview of the hotel, drawing directly from publicly available customer feedback, which is crucial for setting accurate expectations for potential guests.
The environment of Extended Stay America - Long Island - Bethpage, as described by recent guests, presents significant and serious concerns. Public areas, including "the hallway to the elevator to the lobby," are reported to have pervasive and distinct unpleasant odors. One guest specifically noted that the "room itself smelled of long-term smoking," leading to extreme discomfort and nausea. Beyond odors, a more critical environmental concern is related to safety and general conduct on the premises. Reviews explicitly mention observing "prostitution, drinking on the premises, people urinating any and every where, no one picks up after their dogs and drug use." The presence of "at least 6-8 cop cars visiting the hotel every day/night" further underscores a deeply troubled and potentially unsafe environment. This suggests a lack of proper management oversight and control over who is on the property and what activities are occurring. The general atmosphere is characterized as a "hang out hotel where anyone can just come and go as they please and management does not notice or do anything." This type of environment fundamentally contradicts the expectation of a safe, clean, and comfortable stay, which is paramount for any guest, especially those on an extended stay. Therefore, the reported environment is a major negative factor for this property when considering "Hotels Near Of Me."
Regarding services, the provided customer feedback offers a mixed, but ultimately concerning, picture. One review notes that the "Service was great, not their fault this place is in the condition it is—that’s more of a long-term buildup." This indicates that individual staff members may be polite and helpful, yet they are operating within significant systemic challenges related to the property's overall condition and management. However, another review directly contradicts the effectiveness of management by stating that "management does not notice or do anything" about the illicit and disorderly activities observed on the premises. This suggests a critical failure in maintaining a secure and orderly environment for guests. While the hotel is an Extended Stay America property, which typically offers services like in-room kitchens, on-site laundry facilities, and potentially weekly housekeeping, the quality and safety of these services are implicitly undermined by the broader environmental concerns. For instance, while kitchenettes are a feature, the overall lack of cleanliness reported in the public areas and rooms might make guests hesitant to utilize them. The core service of providing a safe and comfortable lodging experience appears to be severely compromised, despite any individual staff members' efforts. The complaint about management "hunting you down for that money though" at the end of the week, despite observed issues, also highlights a focus on payment collection without adequately addressing guest concerns during the stay.
The features of Extended Stay America properties typically include a fully equipped kitchen in every room, which contains a refrigerator, microwave, and stovetop, catering to guests needing to prepare their own meals for longer stays. On-site laundry facilities are also a standard feature. However, based on the provided reviews, the condition of these features, particularly the cleanliness, is highly questionable. The mention of a room smelling of "long-term smoking" implies that air filtration or proper cleaning of soft furnishings is a significant issue, affecting the comfort feature. The report of a "shooting where a man was killed" and consistent police presence severely impacts the perceived safety and security features, which are paramount for any accommodation, let alone one designed for extended stays where guests might be more settled. The general observation of "disorderly conduct" like public urination and drug use further diminishes the value of any physical features the hotel might offer. While the concept of an extended stay hotel is to provide a home-like environment, the reported conditions suggest that the actual features fail to deliver on basic living standards of comfort, hygiene, and security. The "cheap price" mentioned by a guest suggests the hotel targets a budget-conscious demographic, but even at a lower price point, the described features are not considered "worth it."
From a promotional standpoint, the most objective information derived from the provided customer reviews serves as a very strong warning rather than a positive endorsement. The repeated directive "Don't stay here!!" is the overarching promotional message. The detailed accounts of extreme cleanliness issues, pervasive unpleasant odors, and serious safety concerns including illicit activities and police presence are highly detrimental to any promotional efforts. While Extended Stay America as a brand promotes affordability for longer stays, and potentially features like pet-friendly policies (which is common for the brand, as evidenced by complaints about dog waste), these specific reviews indicate that the fundamental promise of a habitable and safe environment is not being met at this particular location. The information about a fatal incident further exacerbates the negative perception, making it nearly impossible for the hotel to promote itself positively based on these experiences. For users searching "Hotels Near Of Me" and considering this Extended Stay America location, the overwhelming and consistent negative feedback from guests should be the primary factor in their decision-making. The described conditions severely undermine any potential benefits of affordability or extended stay features, making the objective promotional advice to avoid this property.

Get directionsNot a very comfortable stay. I’ve stayed in hotels like this before, but I have never been so uncomfortable. Every public area—from the hallway to the elevator to the lobby—smelled horrible (each in their own special way). The room itself smelled of long-term smoking. I was so incredibly nauseated the entire time. There needs to be a serious revamp or air filtration. Not worth it for the price, as cheap as it is. Service was great, not their fault this place is in the condition it is—that’s more of a long-term buildup.
May 07, 2025 · Esmeralda HernandezDon't stay here!!- after the shooting where a man was killed I'm not surprised - it was just a matter of time. For the time my family and I stayed there - we observed prostitution, drinking on the premises, people urinating any and every where, no one picks up after their dogs and drug use. Every day/night there were at least 6-8 cop cars visiting the hote. It was more of a hang out hotel where anyone can just come and go as they please and management does not notice or do annything. Although we had issues with them but you better believe at the end of the week they hunt you down for that money though.
Apr 03, 2025 · Leslie ReyesHonestly, I have never had such a bad experience even in motels. The room was dirty, there were no places to eat, the bathroom was awful, and I thought someone was fighting in the room upstairs because I couldn't explain the noise I was hearing my entire night.
Mar 10, 2025 · Katarina GolubIf you're desperate for a place to stay, then, this is it. Lousy beds so prep for uncomfortable sleep. Pet-friendly shouldn't mean poop all over the outside. If a fire alarm goes off, fire department should respond otherwise, it's just a liability.
