I am staying here first time ever at an extended stay and registered my dog . I had to move from a double bed suite into a regular double room .the customer associate Andrew told me it is because the room was a king size bed and pets have an odor . I have stayed at embassy suites , reaidence inn and suites marriot , some of hiltons other greatest hotel suites, casino hotels and never had this experience . When do you downgrade because of a 12 Pound shiz tzu. Oh it is a fee but no worries here . He also told me if i told him before checking in i never would have gotten the room i did. This room i am in now is the same but not a suite it has holes in wall , rusty sink , Dirty vent over stove area, bathroom really old ,dusty lights the other room did not. Who lives diffrently cause they have a dog. I would love to see his house if dogs smell and you live poorly cause you have a dog. Be fair . I wonder if he would be nicer if i was of a different race and if he really knew my socio economic status..

Extended Stay America - New Orleans - Airport Introduce

For those of us living in Louisiana, whether we're navigating a temporary relocation, undertaking a long-term work project near the airport, or hosting family from out of state for an extended period, the idea of an "extended stay hotel" is certainly appealing. These types of accommodations offer a unique blend of hotel convenience with apartment-like amenities, particularly the much-desired in-room kitchen. Extended Stay America - New Orleans - Airport in Kenner aims to fill this niche, providing a base for those who need more than just a fleeting overnight stop. This article will give you an in-depth, factual overview of what to expect, drawing from both the hotel's intended offerings and recent guest feedback, to help you make an informed decision for your next longer stay.

Extended Stay America properties are designed with the long-term traveler in mind, offering features that cater to self-sufficiency and comfort over an extended period. This Kenner location is no exception, typically boasting fully equipped kitchens in every suite, free Wi-Fi, and a pet-friendly policy. These amenities are genuinely valuable for anyone looking to save on dining out, maintain a routine, or simply feel more at home while away. They also generally offer on-site guest laundry, a crucial convenience for longer visits.

However, it's essential for our local community to be aware of the consistent and significant concerns raised in recent customer reviews for this particular Extended Stay America location. Guests have reported numerous issues that could significantly impact a comfortable long-term stay. These include rooms with noticeable cleanliness problems, such as unmade beds, trash, stains on pillowcases and beds, hair, and even vomit in the sink in one extreme case. Maintenance issues are frequently cited, with non-functional air conditioning (blowing hot air even on low settings), broken light switches, clogged kitchen sinks with "weird looking liquid," and rusty bathroom fixtures. Beyond the physical state of the rooms, guests have expressed deep frustration with staff interactions, citing an "unsafe and vulnerable" feeling due to limited lobby access during late hours, lengthy waits for night managers, and a perceived lack of urgency or capability in resolving problems. Instances of miscommunication regarding reservations, an alleged discriminatory attitude towards pet owners, and an overall sense of poor customer service have also been detailed. While the concept of an extended stay with kitchenettes and pet-friendliness is appealing, these widespread operational and cleanliness issues are critical factors to consider before committing to a booking at this specific property.

Conclusion: Why this place is suitable for locals

For us, the people of Louisiana, the Extended Stay America - New Orleans - Airport in Kenner offers a particular suitability that addresses several common local needs, especially for those considering stays longer than a typical hotel night. The primary draw is undeniably the "extended stay" model itself, complete with in-room kitchens. For locals undergoing home renovations, needing temporary housing due to unforeseen circumstances, or hosting out-of-town family for an extended visit, the ability to cook meals in your room can lead to significant cost savings compared to dining out constantly. This aligns well with our practical approach to managing household budgets, even when away from home.

The hotel's location on Veterans Memorial Boulevard in Kenner is also highly advantageous for residents. It's incredibly close to Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport, making it convenient for those whose jobs involve frequent travel or for easily managing family arrivals and departures. Its proximity to I-10 means swift access to downtown New Orleans for cultural events or work, while still being set back from the city's highest traffic and accommodation costs. The free on-site parking is a major plus for locals, who generally rely on their vehicles and appreciate avoiding extra fees.

Furthermore, the pet-friendly policy is a big benefit for many Louisiana families who consider their furry friends part of the family and prefer not to leave them behind. The on-site laundry facilities are another practical aspect that makes longer stays much more comfortable and manageable, just like being at home. While recent guest experiences highlight areas for improvement, particularly concerning cleanliness and service consistency, the core value proposition of an equipped kitchen, pet-friendly rooms, and a convenient location positions this Extended Stay America as a potentially suitable and pragmatic choice for specific extended accommodation needs within our community. It offers a functional base when your own home isn't an option, or when hosting guests who appreciate the flexibility of a more self-sufficient stay.

I'm going to try and keep this brief. One weekend, I stayed at the one next door and had no problems, was super clean, loved it and then accidentally booked this one. Big mistake. The first time I stayed here, I arrived around 12:30. I had to call the phone to send the night manager down, but you aren't allowed into the lobby and I felt very unsafe and vulnerable waiting. So after about 20 mins of waiting, I called again and the phone person informed me it could take up to 30 mins. It's 1am and I've driven 8 hours. The night manager finally arrives, we'll call her Trina. She lets me into my room and it's pretty dirty. I wanted to change hotels, but I wouldn't get any money back. So I just dealt with it. The 2nd time I stayed here (Because it was cheaper than next door), I tried to call ahead so I wouldn't be waiting 30 mins in the dark and they told me I couldn't check in after 12 or something. I ignored him (because I had last time) and just kept driving. When I got to the place and called again, the other guy on the phone said there was no problem checking in at this time. He sent the night manager down (it was not Trina) the guy was very nice and I went to my room, only to find that the kitchen sink was clogged and full of some weird looking liquid. But it was late, I was tired, and I was okay with using the bathroom sink. And I didn't want to have to call the manager down again for another room. So, I go to bed. The next day I go to work. I work at night so I went to bed at 6am the next day only to be woken up at 8am because of very loud noise. I tried to ignore it and I'm a heavy sleeper but it was truly very very loud. So I walk into the hallway to find that the room next to mine has a plumber going at the sink, which is good because Ig it'll unclog my sink, but the noise is much louder in my room than the one he's working in. I go to the front desk and they basically tell me they're not gonna tell him to stop and there's nothing I can do unless I want to move rooms, but there's no more available on my floor. At some point, I go back to sleep. And get woken up again! At 10am to maintenance telling me he's working on the sink. Yes, I know, trust me. Also on this trip, I needed to stay an extra day so I go to the front desk. It's Trina. She tells me they're all booked up. I go online and book it in 5 mins and I ask if I can stay in the same room. She looks and can't find my reservation and tells me I have to call some number. As soon as I'm abt to walk away, another manager comes to the desk and finds my new reservation in 30 secs. That should have been the last straw for me, alas it wasn't. The 3rd time I showed up I thought how could it get worse. I show up a little later than normal. They call Trina down. Oh god. She tells me I was marked as a no show and there's nothing I can do about it until 9am. Mind you, it's 3am. I've been driving. Wtf. I thought about sleeping in my car until 9am, but I was so scared, so I gave up and went to another hotel around the corner that was so much nicer and not that much more expensive (La Quinta). I ended up going back and asking for a refund because wtf, which they gave me so I appreciate, but they couldn't understand why Trina couldn't put me in a room. They said the only reason might've been because the tech was going through an EOD or inventory or something and she just had to wait 10 mins. I was in disbelief.

When I booked the hotel, I booked it for 6 to 8 weeks. Somebody make them a mistake said stating I was staying for three months and that wasn’t true. I was getting charge before I left 785.00 I tried to explain that I only reserve it for 6 to 8 weeks. Why are you gonna charge me something like that and all she said that I said I was reserved for three months that was not true and she does not understand that we work in turnaround and they want me to pay that money or else, I will be a bandit from all hotels Their housekeeping was poor. They did housekeeping every two weeks and they’re a job was half ass. Their breakfast was a shitty breakfast. Who’s gonna want to eat muffins and grits in the morning? Don’t even offer you fruit for breakfast so before you ever check into a hotel like this, do your homework don’t make the same mistake as I did and then try to make you pay something that you did not do

Absolutely DISGUSTING!!!! We booked this room for convenience and cost. Well, you get what you pay for here. We walked off the elevator and this horrible moldy, cigarette and weed smell hit us that almost gagged my husband. Next, we went into the room that smelled like urine, mold, and smoke. I needed the bathroom as I had been driving for 3.5 hours, looked down and there were dead baby German Roaches in the toilet. I immediately pulled back the shower curtain and there were live and dead German Roaches in the tub. I yelled for my husband to immediately get the bags and get out NOW, Go, Go, Go!!! On the way out we see more roaches. This is unacceptable for hotels. These roaches can get in suitcases and the guest can bring them home and have an infestation. They did refund my money, but I am here to warn you please go somewhere else until they correct their infestation of German Roaches they have. If they are in one room, they are most likely in the whole hotel, trust me.

Be careful staying at this location they will charge one price then try to refund you and charge another price so your charged twice. Now your out double money and have to sort out the problem yourself. Tried to get a print out of my stay with a print out of refunds and getting the run around manger not available call the following day. Not a place you want stay looks like I'm in for a battle for the missing funds.
