Franklin Hotel Introduce

When searching the "Hotels Near Of Me" category in Franklin, Massachusetts, the Franklin Hotel, located at 835 Upper Union St, Franklin, MA 02038, USA, appears as one of the options. However, it's crucial for prospective guests to approach this option with a comprehensive understanding of recent guest experiences to set appropriate expectations. This hotel, sharing the same address as Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham Franklin / Milford Area, might be either a rebranding or a property under the same management, indicating a potential focus on extended stay accommodations. Therefore, the information provided here will aim to give an objective overview based on available customer feedback.

The environment of the Franklin Hotel, as described by recent guests, presents a mixed picture. While some sources might suggest it's a standard hotel, actual customer reviews indicate certain challenges. There are mentions of hallways smelling "musty and at times smokey," which can significantly impact the overall ambiance and comfort for guests. One review also speculated about it being "immigrant housing," which, while not a direct comment on hotel quality, reflects a perception that might influence a guest's comfort level. The general appearance and upkeep of common areas are not explicitly detailed, but the concerns regarding room cleanliness suggest that maintaining a consistently fresh and inviting environment might be an ongoing challenge. For those seeking a pristine and consistently pleasant atmosphere when looking for "Hotels Near Of Me," these points are critical to consider.

The rooms at the Franklin Hotel, which are likely designed as suites given the shared address with Hawthorn Suites, are intended to offer more space than a standard hotel room, potentially including separate living areas. However, cleanliness appears to be a significant concern. A recent guest reported that their "room had not been vacuumed," with "food and beads all over the living area, bathroom and bedroom floors." Additionally, issues such as "someone's hair on the counter and between the towels" and a shower drain "not draining" are explicitly mentioned. These directly impact the comfort and hygiene of the stay. The lack of readily available amenities, like a replacement toilet paper roll and sufficient towels for a family of four, further indicate potential oversights in housekeeping. While the aim of an extended stay property is to provide a home-like experience, these reported cleanliness and amenity deficiencies detract significantly from that goal.

In terms of services, the hotel offers a breakfast, though its quality and cleanliness of the dining area have been criticized. A review described the dining area as "not cleaned in between uses and was disgusting by later in the breakfast block." Furthermore, concerns were raised about staff hygiene during breakfast service, with one employee reportedly handling both cleaning tasks and food service with the "same glove," and "long black hair swinging all over." This raises significant health and safety concerns that prospective guests should be aware of. On the positive side, the front desk staff, despite being informed of multiple issues, was described as "very nice" and seemingly apologetic, acknowledging that similar complaints had been heard before. This suggests a willingness to listen, even if immediate resolution to systemic issues is not always apparent from the guest's perspective. The issue of keycards needing reprogramming "every single time" also points to a consistent operational inconvenience. Additionally, the hotel's policy of giving out keycards to children with just a room number, without requiring a last name or adult verification, is a significant security concern for families.

Regarding features, as an extended stay property, the Franklin Hotel would typically offer in-room kitchenettes or full kitchens. While not explicitly detailed in the provided reviews, the fact that it shares an address with a Hawthorn Suites suggests the presence of such amenities to cater to longer stays. However, the issues with room cleanliness extend to potential functionality of these features, as a dirty environment would deter usage. Other general hotel features, such as Wi-Fi, are expected, but their reliability is not confirmed by the reviews. Parking is available, and there was a concern raised about an additional $60 charge to a credit card beyond the receipt and refundable deposit, which highlights potential billing discrepancies that guests should monitor closely. The mention of "very sketchy security officer making rounds" could imply a need for heightened security, but also potentially a perception of an uncomfortable environment.

Promotional information for the Franklin Hotel is not directly available from the provided reviews. However, as properties in the "Hotels Near Of Me" category, especially those catering to extended stays, they often offer:

  • Extended Stay Rates: Discounts for booking for multiple nights, weeks, or months.
  • Complimentary Breakfast: While the quality is a concern here, it's typically a standard offering.
  • Pet-Friendly Policies: Often available in extended stay models, but potential fees and conditions should be verified.
  • Loyalty Programs: If affiliated with a larger brand, they would participate in its loyalty program (e.g., Wyndham Rewards, if still associated with Hawthorn Suites branding).
  • Amenities such as Wi-Fi and Parking: These are often included in the rate.
Given the significant negative feedback regarding cleanliness, billing discrepancies, and security concerns, any promotional information should be viewed with caution. Prospective guests should thoroughly investigate recent reviews and, if possible, seek updated information directly from the hotel by calling (508) 553-3500 or +1 508-553-3500 before making a reservation. It would be advisable to explicitly confirm all charges, including deposits and any potential additional fees, and to inquire about their current cleaning protocols and security measures. Hotels in this category that are experiencing such issues might also offer more competitive rates, but potential cost savings must be weighed against the reported issues with comfort and service quality.

In conclusion, the Franklin Hotel, while potentially offering extended stay amenities at 835 Upper Union St, Franklin, MA, receives highly critical feedback in recent customer reviews. The reported issues with pervasive cleanliness, particularly in rooms and the breakfast area, coupled with concerns about staff hygiene, keycard security, and billing discrepancies, paint a challenging picture. For those Browse "Hotels Near Of Me," especially for extended stays or family trips, it is imperative to exercise extreme caution and consider these reported issues seriously. While the phone numbers (508) 553-3500 / +1 508-553-3500 are provided, and direct communication is always recommended, the volume and nature of the negative reviews suggest that guests should be prepared for a potentially difficult stay and consider alternative accommodations if their priorities are cleanliness, security, and consistent service quality.

We stayed at this hotel with a group of families for a sports tournament. The hallways smelled musty and at times smokey. The carpet in our room had not been vacuumed. There was food and beads all over the living area, bathroom and bedroom floors. There was a small amount of toilet paper on the roll and no replacement roll waiting. We had two sets of towels for the deluxe suite for a family of four. And once again had to go to the desk to get more. I’ve never had to visit the desk SO many times. The keycards needed to be reprogrammed every single time when needed to use them. Oh and they gave out cards to our kids with just a room number no last name or adult needed. My credit card was charged $60 more than the receipt. This was not the refundable room deposit. That was a separate charge. Towels and bedding had stains. Dining area at breakfast was not cleaned in between uses and was disgusting by later in the breakfast block.

I enjoyed my stay at the Best Western Plus. Customer service was friendly, especially those working at the front desk. My room was clean, spacious and had everything I needed. The bed was comfortable. The hotel is right near the interstate and just a short >10 minute drive from several restaurants and fast food places. If I attend another event at Gillette, I would definitely consider staying here in the future, especially because on top of the quality hotel, it was one of most affordable hotels in the area and a great bang for your buck.

Abhorrent service, I booked a room seven months ago to have it cancelled two and a half weeks out. Given the timeline finding comparable accommodations for a comparable price is proving impossible. The only service I was provided was an apology and potentially two phone numbers to hotels I could easily find myself. No discount at a sister facility and a complete blank affect from customer service. The property may very well be nice, I will never know.

Booked this room for the Taylor Swift concert. The room itself was fine. Staff at check in were great despite the number of people all checking in at the same time after the show. BUT there was zero hot water. Like not even lukewarm. Not in the sink, either. And it still wasn’t hot the next morning. I’ve never been to a hotel with no hot water. Thankfully, we were heading to my sister’s house the next morning and we could shower there. Breakfast was mediocre, but there was a disclaimer that the oven was broken. French toast was hard as a rock. Eggs weren’t bad. Overwhelmingly strong smell of Lysol in the hallway.
