For travelers seeking comfortable and convenient accommodation in Milford, Connecticut, the Hampton Inn Milford stands out as a consistently well-regarded option. As a popular choice under the "Hotels Near Of Me" category, this hotel, located at 129 Plains Rd, Milford, CT 06460, USA, offers a blend of accessibility, essential amenities, and a friendly atmosphere tailored to a wide range of guests, from leisure visitors to business travelers.
The Hampton Inn Milford boasts an exceptionally convenient location, positioned "right off I-95," which makes it highly accessible for travelers by car. This strategic placement allows for easy commutes to various points of interest in Milford and the greater New Haven and Fairfield County areas. While its proximity to the highway offers excellent connectivity, some guests have noted that noise from the highway can be "incredibly disruptive to sleep," particularly in rooms on the back side of the hotel (odd-numbered rooms). This is a crucial consideration for light sleepers or those with specific sleep requirements.
Despite the potential for highway noise, the hotel strives to provide a comfortable environment. The lobby features a "convenient little store" for snacks and drinks, adding a layer of ease for guests who prefer to stay on-site. The hotel's design and upkeep contribute to an overall pleasant atmosphere. While not explicitly mentioned as a newly built property, the general consistency in room quality and the well-maintained HVAC units suggest a commitment to guest comfort. Milford itself offers a charming New England backdrop with its coastline, historic downtown, and various parks, making the hotel a suitable base for exploring the local charm.
The Hampton Inn Milford is known for its extensive range of services designed to enhance the guest experience. A significant highlight is the complimentary hot breakfast, served early in the morning. Guests praise the "decent selection available," which typically includes make-your-own waffles, oatmeal, muffins, bread/bagels, and some form of eggs and meat. However, a common "biggest gripe" among reviews is the "inconsistency for the breakfast," particularly on weekends, when there might be "shortages on bread, cereal, and utensils," and a higher likelihood of "powdered eggs instead of mini omelets" and "gross little lunchroom sausages." Despite these inconsistencies, the staff managing the breakfast area are commended for handling things well and keeping the area "well kept and stocked to the best of their ability."
For those with food allergies, particularly dairy and nut allergies, the breakfast offerings are limited, with "pretty much nothing but hard-boiled eggs and occasionally cereal that are safe" for dairy, and a high risk of cross-contamination or direct inclusion of nuts in pre-made foods. The hotel acknowledges the "signage about food allergies is essentially worthless because there's nothing they can do or offer" in these cases, which is an important point for guests with severe allergies to note.
The hotel provides a "coffee bar in the lobby" that is "always well stocked with 3 types of coffee and hot water for a variety of teas," catering to different preferences throughout the day.
Guests also benefit from "free WiFi" throughout the property, ensuring seamless connectivity. The "easy tap keycards" contribute to a "fairly easy" check-in process. The staff is consistently described as "super friendly and very happy to help," with specific individuals like Viviana at the front desk and staff members like Jeffery receiving high praise for their helpfulness, consideration, and empathy. The cleaning staff are also noted for being kind.
For recreation, the hotel features an indoor pool and a fitness center, although specific details about these amenities are not extensively covered in the provided reviews. However, as a Hampton Inn property, these are standard offerings. The hotel also offers complimentary self-parking.
The rooms at Hampton Inn Milford are generally described as comfortable and functional, with "very well priced" rates. The "beds are very comfortable," contributing to a restful night's sleep. Each room is equipped with a "little coffee pot and accessories to make coffee," offering convenience for guests who prefer to make their own beverages. The bathrooms are "well supplied with soaps/shampoo/conditioner."
Rooms are typically "fairly consistent in quality," though some variations exist. For instance, "some rooms seem to lack microwaves specifically," which could be a minor inconvenience for some guests. The "double queen rooms are a bit tight" as "the furniture is exactly the same as in the single king room, and the rooms do not vary in size," suggesting that larger groups might find these rooms a bit cramped. The "hvac units in room are all well maintained and work well for both heating and cooling," ensuring comfortable room temperatures regardless of the season.
A notable feature concerning room privacy and light control is the window situation. Rooms on the back side of the hotel (odd numbers) "only have sheers, and curtains that cover the closet area, but not the actual window." This means if guests "require blackout curtains," they "may want to request an even numbered room when booking/checking in" as these rooms typically face the front and are more likely to have full blackout capabilities.
The hotel also aims to provide a safe and clean environment. While specific details on accessibility features are not available from the provided text, Hampton Inn properties typically offer accessible rooms and facilities.
For local users searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in Milford, the Hampton Inn Milford presents a strong value proposition. The "very well priced" rooms, coupled with the complimentary hot breakfast and free Wi-Fi, make it an attractive option for budget-conscious travelers without compromising on essential comforts. As a Hilton brand, guests can also benefit from the Hilton Honors loyalty program, potentially earning points and enjoying member-exclusive rates and perks.
The hotel's location directly off I-95 is a major selling point for those traveling through or needing quick access to the highway. Its proximity to local attractions in Milford and surrounding areas, although not explicitly detailed in the provided reviews, makes it a convenient base for exploring.
The overwhelming positive feedback regarding the "super friendly" and helpful staff, particularly the exemplary service from individuals like Viviana, instills confidence in potential guests. Despite some minor issues with breakfast consistency or room specific features, the overall sentiment indicates a highly satisfactory guest experience. Many guests would likely "recommend this again" due to the consistent quality and excellent service, making Hampton Inn Milford a reliable and welcoming choice for anyone looking for accommodation in the area.

Overall, the hotel is great. The rooms are very well priced. The staff are all super friendly and very happy to help. There's a convenient little store in the lobby to buy snacks and drinks from if you don't feel like going anywhere to get some. It's right off I95, which makes it very accessible. Checking in is fairly easy, and the rooms have easy tap keycards. The rooms are fairly consistent in quality, though some rooms seem to lack microwaves specifically. The double queen rooms are a bit tight, since the furniture is exactly the same as in the single king room, and the rooms do not vary in size. The hvac units in room are all well maintained and work well for both heating and cooling. The bathrooms are well supplied with soaps/ shampoo/conditioner. The beds are very comfortable. Each room has a little coffee pot and accessories to make coffee if you don't feel like going to the lobby. The windows in the rooms on the back side of the hotel (odd numbers) only have sheers, and curtains that cover the closet area, but not the actual window, so if you require blackout curtains, you may want to request an even numbered room when booking/ checking in. The same goes for if you are a light sleeper/deal with anxiety or ptsd. Sometimes, the noise from the highway can be incredibly disruptive to sleep, so something to keep in mind if you need specific conditions for sleeping. The coffee bar in the lobby is always well stocked with 3 types of coffee and hot water for a variety of teas. The breakfast bar is open early in the morning, which is great. There's a decent selection available, including waffles you can make yourself, oatmeal, muffins, bread/ bagels, and some form of eggs and meat. I'd say my biggest gripe is the inconsistency for the breakfast. Weekends seem to be the worst. Shortages on bread, cereal, and utensils. You're more likely to find powdered eggs instead of mini omelets like they have during the week. And there tend to be those gross little lunchroom sausages served more frequently than any other kind of meat. That said, the staff managing the breakfast handle things well overall, the area is always well kept abs stocked to the best of their ability. Allergy Folks: If you have food allergies to dairy, there is pretty much nothing but hard-boiled eggs and occasionally cereal that are safe. If you have nut allergies, the majority of pre-made foods served either are made on shared equipment or include nuts/ may include nuts. There are also usually almonds and/or walnuts at the oatmeal bar, so there is a risk for cross- contamination. The signage about food allergies is essentially worthless because there's nothing they can do or offer if you or somebody in your party have one or both of these allergies.
Apr 27, 2025 · nicole sikoraI had an absolutely wonderful experience with Viviana at the front desk. She was so helpful and welcoming! I appreciated her consideration and empathy whenever I spoke with her. And the rest of the staff that I encountered (the cleaning staff and Jeffery) were so kind as well!
May 07, 2025 · Sue WeeI always stay at Hilton hotels, but this was by far the worst one I've ever been to. We checked in late after a very long drive and thankfully just needed a place to rest for a few hours before leaving. Walked into the bathroom to find a FROG hopping around. Didn't think too much of it, things happen. It went downhill from there. The carpet was so disgusting it left our feet black from only walking a few steps. Woke up early to take a shower only to find there was no hot water! Told the lady at the front desk and got a "sorry". I would have thought as a rewards member, something like that would justify a discounted rate at least. Very disappointed.
Apr 04, 2025 · Amy LapierreAmazing experience from start to end. The room was amazing and comfy. The gym was decent and the breakfast buffet was very good. The location was good as their was a gas station right Infront and an ALDI close by. Plenty of eating options nearby. Front desk staff was amazing and helpful.
May 09, 2025 · Asim Hussain (The Reviewer)The only good thing about this place was the location and staff was nice, the room was so small, there was mold, things were broken and while we stayed there, there was several car break ins because of no cameras. Breakfast is okay unless they are serving bacon then it’s not edible! Like beef jerky it’s pretty bad! My husband was in a hurry to book something since this was an emergency but never again will we stay here! Oh the sharp metal hanging off the side of the AC unit was great also since i have children and my son cut his leg on this!
