A very convenient place to stay, directly off I-95. Front desk staff are friendly, check in is efficient, and prices are great. The rooms vary in quality, but are always consistently clean. Not an ideal place for light sleepers, as trucks passing by create quite a lot of noise, and the hotel is often very lively on Friday and Saturday nights. The basic rooms do not offer microwaves, coffee machines, or hair dryers. Coffee is available in the office during the day though. All rooms do come equipped with a safe. Solid value if you're passing through.
For travelers seeking a practical and affordable lodging option in Milford, Connecticut, the Red Roof Inn Milford - New Haven stands out as a highly accessible choice when searching for "Hotels Near Of Me." Located directly off I-95 at 10 Rowe Ave, Milford, CT 06460, USA, this hotel is particularly well-suited for those passing through, requiring a convenient stopover, or looking for a budget-conscious stay near both Milford and New Haven. It emphasizes value, efficiency, and fundamental comforts, making it a solid option for many types of travelers.
The most significant environmental advantage of the Red Roof Inn Milford - New Haven is its direct accessibility from Interstate 95. This makes it an incredibly convenient stop for road trippers and those needing quick access to the highway. While this proximity offers ease of travel, it also means that "trucks passing by create quite a lot of noise," which can be a factor for "light sleepers."
The hotel is a 3-story building with 109 rooms, built in 1989 and last renovated in 2005. It features exterior corridors, common for this type of budget-friendly accommodation, which can offer direct access to rooms from the parking lot. Despite some reviews hinting at its age or "condition" in terms of amenities, the property generally maintains a commitment to cleanliness, with rooms noted as "always consistently clean."
Beyond its highway access, the hotel's location offers proximity to local conveniences. It's just a short drive from various shopping centers and dining options along the Boston Post Road, allowing guests to easily find meals and necessities. Nearby attractions include Silver Sands State Park with its beach and fishing opportunities (approximately five minutes by car), the Milford Ice Pavilion, and the Liberty Rock Shopping Center. The hotel is also conveniently located for access to both Sikorsky Memorial Airport and Tweed-New Haven Regional Airport, making it practical for air travelers. The overall atmosphere caters to a utilitarian travel style, focusing on efficiency and basic needs rather than luxurious ambiance. The property offers free self-parking, including space for RVs, buses, and lorries, adding to its convenience for diverse travelers.
The Red Roof Inn Milford - New Haven offers a streamlined set of services designed for efficiency and guest comfort. The front desk operates 24 hours a day, providing continuous assistance, and is frequently praised for its "friendly" and "efficient" staff. Check-in is generally described as "fairly easy," and the hotel utilizes "easy tap keycards." Standard check-in time is 3:00 PM and check-out is 12:00 PM.
While the hotel does not offer a complimentary hot breakfast like some higher-tier properties, coffee is available in the office (lobby/reception area) during the day. There is also a "coffee/tea in a common area" amenity. For snacks and drinks, vending machines are available on-site, and there's a "convenient little store in the lobby" for quick purchases.
For guest convenience, the hotel provides free in-room Wi-Fi, along with free local and long-distance calls. On-site laundry facilities are available, which is a valuable amenity, especially for guests on longer stays or those needing to refresh their wardrobe. Daily housekeeping is included for stays of 6 nights or less, with limited housekeeping for longer stays. The hotel also offers an ATM/banking service and a front desk safe for valuables.
A significant service feature of Red Roof Inn is its pet-friendly policy. The hotel welcomes "one, well-behaved domestic pet (cat or dog) Stays Free!" with a policy allowing up to two pets per room, with a charge for the second pet. Pets must be declared at check-in, and service animals are always welcome without fees. This makes it an attractive option for travelers with furry companions, with pet waste stations on the property.
The Red Roof Inn Milford - New Haven features 109 rooms, including standard, superior, deluxe, and suite options, designed to be consistently clean and functional. Room types range from those with two double beds to king beds, and some suites include a sofa bed. Each room is equipped with air conditioning/heating, a flat-screen TV with premium channels, and a private bathroom with a shower/tub combination, complimentary soap, shampoo, and towels. Hair dryers are also provided in the bathrooms.
A notable feature for all rooms is the inclusion of a safe. However, as noted in reviews, "basic rooms do not offer microwaves, coffee machines, or hair dryers," which is an important distinction for guests who rely on these amenities. Other sources, however, indicate that certain upgraded or deluxe rooms may include refrigerators, microwaves, and coffee/tea makers, suggesting that amenities can vary by room type and recent renovations. It is advisable for guests to confirm specific room amenities when booking.
While beds are generally considered functional, one recent review from May 2025 noted that "the beds were not comfortable and the 2 pillows per bed were tiny and flat," suggesting potential inconsistencies in bedding quality. Another important feature to consider, especially for light sleepers or those with sensory sensitivities, is the "blackout drapes/curtains" feature. While listed as an amenity in some descriptions, reviews suggest that in some rooms, especially on the backside (facing the highway), only sheers and closet curtains are present, which may not provide full blackout. Accessible rooms are available with features like roll-in showers and grab bars. All rooms are non-smoking.
For local users and travelers searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" in Milford, the Red Roof Inn Milford - New Haven offers a clear value proposition. Its "great prices" are a major draw, positioning it as a budget-friendly alternative to more expensive accommodations. The phrase "Solid value if you're passing through" perfectly encapsulates its appeal for transient stays where cost-effectiveness and convenient access are key.
The pet-friendly policy, with the first pet staying free, is a significant promotional advantage for animal owners, making it an inclusive choice. The efficiency of check-in and the friendliness of the front desk staff are consistently highlighted in guest reviews, contributing positively to the overall experience despite any limitations in amenities. While a recent review from May 2025 expressed concern about the price paid versus the amenities and condition, emphasizing the importance of "make sure the price is right," the general consensus points to it being a good option when budget is a primary concern.
The hotel also frequently runs promotions and discounts, which can be found on its official website, making the already competitive prices even more attractive. For travelers who prioritize a convenient location, cleanliness, and a welcoming staff over extensive amenities, the Red Roof Inn Milford - New Haven remains a viable and frequently utilized option in the Milford area. Its clear communication about basic amenities allows guests to manage expectations and ensure a suitable stay for their travel needs.

Apr 12, 2025 · nicole sikoraTwo night stay May 2025. Room was clean, but the beds were not comfortable and the 2 pillows per bed were tiny and flat. I paid $300 for 2 nights…way more than it’s worth. If you need a cheap place to stay make sure the price is right because it’s def cheap in amenities and condition. Convenient location to as a plus.
May 18, 2025 · Kathleen SchnitzerFirst time visit. Guest services were quick and friendly. Paid in advance but was asked to pay a $50 hold. Didn't know this until I checked in. The room was clean and decent. Had a refrigerator and microwave in the room, which was a plus. I had a king-size bed with four standard size pillows, which were flat as the ground. I went out and got two king pillows to use. I also didn't like that the headboard had two reading lamps on eith side attached to it. Which made sitting up in the bed impossible. I did not have room service.
Apr 10, 2025 · Sharon L.Conveniently located, right off I-95, this Red Roof Inn was quiet and we got a good night's sleep with our dog (no extra charge). The location was busy when we rolled in at 1am on Saturday, but it was quiet. The room was clean and there was a refrigerator with a separate freezer in our room. The price was good for a Friday night stay.
Apr 27, 2025 · P ParkWe flew in on Thursday the 8th and upon arrival my reservation was under a different first name and a different email. I made my reservation thru Expedia like I have been doing the last 5 years never an issue. Because of this information issue I had to lock my cards and when I got up to the room I didn't feel SAFE and was very uneased. They said it was Expedia fault and when I called Expediathey said my reservation was under the correct name. The property does not want to refund me for only being there not even 20 mins. Please be aware when booking. I would think costumer safety is important especially considering the circumstances.
