Traveled here from out of state for a wedding, and this hotel was a 7-minute drive from the venue! The room was great, complete with a kitchen, living room, and a king-sized bed, which was very comfortable. When we first checked in, we were given the room key to a room that was already occupied. It was a bit awkward walking in on someone half naked. Thankfully, my boyfriend knew him as he was also going to the wedding. The staff were very apologetic and quickly resolved the issue by giving us another room. Breakfast was good and had many options like eggs, oatmeal, cereal, bagels, juice, fresh fruit, and coffee. All in all, I recommend this hotel. Just double-check with the front that the room you are given isn't already occupied.

It's an excellent choice for those searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" with a focus on long-term comfort, offering a blend of spacious living, practical amenities, and a welcoming atmosphere.
The Homewood Suites by Hilton Stratford enjoys a favorable location that offers both tranquility and accessibility. Tucked away from both the main road and the Merritt Parkway (Route 15), the hotel provides a "nice and quiet" environment, a significant advantage for guests on extended stays who value peace and quiet. Despite its serene setting, it offers easy access to major roadways like I-95, I-91, and Route 8, making it convenient for commuting to surrounding areas including Shelton's business district, Bridgeport, and New Haven (approximately a 25-minute drive).
The hotel is nestled on a hill, with select suites offering "spectacular views of the Housatonic River," adding a scenic element to the stay. The property itself is tastefully decorated with a "New England charm," incorporating local artwork, which contributes to a pleasant and authentic local feel. It's strategically located near a variety of local attractions, including Two Roads Brewing Company, Beardsley Zoo, and Jones Family Winery, as well as various shopping centers and beaches within a 10-mile radius. Its proximity to wedding venues also makes it a popular choice for wedding guests.
While the hotel generally maintains a quiet ambiance, some guests have noted occasional issues with noise from other guests (e.g., kids running in hallways, loud music) or external speakers, which can be disruptive. However, the overall impression is that of a clean and well-maintained property, making it a comfortable base for a prolonged visit. The presence of an "extensive little store in the lobby for snacks/necessities" further enhances the convenience of the environment.
Homewood Suites by Hilton Stratford excels in providing services that enhance the extended stay experience. A key highlight is the complimentary "Suite Start hot breakfast" served daily, featuring a wide selection including eggs, oatmeal, cereals, bagels, juice, fresh fruit, and freshly made waffles. While one review mentioned the breakfast bar running "a bit shorter than other hotels," the general consensus points to an "extensive selection" that is "fresh and clean."
Another significant amenity is the complimentary "evening refreshments" (also known as the "Welcome Home" reception or evening social) offered on Wednesday evenings, typically from 5 to 7 PM. This includes light appetizers and beverages (subject to local and state laws), providing a valuable opportunity for guests to unwind and socialize. The hotel also offers a unique "free grocery shopping service," where guests can provide a list and the staff will pick up groceries for them, adding immense convenience for those preparing meals in their in-suite kitchens.

A 24-hour fitness center is available for guests to maintain their workout routines. The staff is consistently praised for being "super friendly and very helpful," demonstrating a commitment to guest satisfaction, even in instances of initial check-in errors. The check-in process itself is often highlighted as being "easiest" and "stress-free."
The hotel is also pet-friendly, allowing both dogs and cats for an additional charge per pet, per night, with specific fee structures for shorter vs. longer stays. This makes it an inclusive option for travelers with furry companions.
The Homewood Suites by Hilton Stratford offers 135 spacious suites, including studios, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom options, many with two full bathrooms. This all-suite configuration is a key feature, distinguishing it as an extended stay property. Each suite is designed to make guests "Make Yourself at Home," featuring separate living areas and fully equipped kitchens.
The in-suite kitchens come with a full-sized refrigerator/freezer, stovetop, microwave, dishwasher, and all necessary cookware, dishes, and utensils. This allows guests the flexibility to prepare their own meals, which is particularly beneficial for longer stays, offering a cost-effective alternative to dining out for every meal.
Rooms are furnished with comfortable Serta Suite Dreams beds (king or queen sizes), a living room area with a couch (often a queen sleeper sofa), a work desk, and flat-screen TVs with premium channels and DVD players. While some guests have noted the TVs being "smaller than other Hilton brand hotels," and some rooms lacking blackout curtains on all windows, leading to light disruption from the parking lot, the overall cleanliness and spaciousness are highly rated. Basic toiletries are provided. Accessible rooms are also available.
Additional features include air conditioning, ironing facilities, and daily newspaper delivery. The hotel also has an outdoor patio with BBQ facilities, offering a pleasant space for relaxation or casual dining. The property maintains sustainability efforts, including reducing plastic waste by transitioning to full-size bath toiletries and being ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 certified for environmental and energy management.
For those searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" with an emphasis on value for extended stays, Homewood Suites by Hilton Stratford presents a compelling offering. The complimentary hot breakfast and evening social are significant value additions, especially for longer visits where dining costs can accumulate. Hilton Honors members can also avail themselves of discounted rates, points accumulation, and benefits like Digital Check-In and Digital Key.
The hotel often attracts families, and its spacious suites with kitchens are particularly appealing for those traveling with children, allowing for meal preparation and comfortable family living. The amenities like the indoor pool and game room cater to leisure and family entertainment. The stress-free wedding room block process, as highlighted by a guest, indicates that the hotel is well-equipped to handle group bookings for events, making it a reliable choice for out-of-state wedding attendees.
Despite occasional minor issues, such as a mix-up with room keys or some guest-related noise, the overwhelming positive feedback on staff friendliness, cleanliness, and the comprehensive suite amenities reinforces its reputation. Many guests "recommend this hotel" and find it a "pleasant experience staying here," indicating strong guest satisfaction. The value proposition of a full kitchen, free breakfast, free Wi-Fi, and a comfortable, quiet environment makes Homewood Suites by Hilton Stratford an excellent choice for anyone needing a flexible and home-like accommodation solution in the Stratford area.

Apr 20, 2025 · Sierra MilinazzoThis has been the easiest hotel check-in process I've ever dealt with. It took less than 2 minutes. There's also an extensive little store in the lobby for snacks/ necessities. The hotel itself is tucked away from both the main road and the Merritt Parkway, so it's nice and quiet. The staff are super friendly, and very helpful. The breakfast bar here runs a bit shorter than other hotels, but the selection is extensive. There are tons of fresh fruit, pastries, and cereals. Everything is fresh and clean. When I had breakfast here, I got a yogurt, banana, fresh watermelon, and a freshly made waffle. This hotel has a pool, and while I didn't use it, it looks to be clean and well maintained. Since this spot is meant for extended stays, each room has a kitchenette and a couch. The rooms are spacious, clean, and well maintained. The TVs are smaller than other Hilton brand hotels. The room that I stayed in did not have blackout curtains over both windows. The window directly next to my bed, which overlooked the entrance to the hotel, had only a sheer on it. The lights from the parking lot came through. Additionally, the music from outside of the hotel (the little speakers they have outside) was very loud and kind of disruptive. This place seems to attract families, which is nice enough, except in my experience, the parents just let their kids run up and down the halls, yelling and being noisy. There was also somebody blasting music late at night. That's less of an issue with the hotel itself and more on the guests who stay there.
Apr 27, 2025 · nicole sikoraWe have been staying at this hotel for family visits for over 20 years. The quality of the hotel has gradually declined. The bathroom tubs were very worn out and the carpet in the room was completely falling apart. Couchs and chairs arms were worn out and the plugs for charging were loose. Fire alarm, vents and toilet paper dispensers were falling out of the walls. The rooms need major updating as I haven't seen any modifications with the exception of the removal of the hot tub in years. I mentioned the condition of the room to the front desk she just brushed us off. Breakfast was good. The attendant had everything filled and hot. The kids in the lobby all enjoyed making waffles with all the toppings. As much as my family had enjoyed this hotel in the past 20+ years I will be looking at the other hotels in the area until renovations are made.
Jan 15, 2025 · Teresa WoodsStayed here for over 2 months and the staff was simply amazing. Service, breakfast, comfort and all. I highly recommend this place to anyone needing a great place to stay.
May 15, 2025 · Lara ChrisphonteThis is my first time at the Stratford Ct location, but like all the ones I've gone to, the service has been friendly and amazing, and the rooms are clean and have the kitchen amenities to make you feel like a mini apartment.
