The stay was decent overall, but nothing particularly stood out. The room was clean and functional, though a bit dated in terms of decor. Staff were polite but not overly engaging. Location was convenient, but noise from the hallway was noticeable at times. It’s a solid option if you’re looking for something straightforward without frills.

Jun 09, 2025 · Ulysses DeanLong post warning: To start, check in time at 4:00pm. We arrive a little before 7:00pm and room not ready due to plumbing issue. No estimated time to fix and magically "we have no other rooms available." Then they stated that they could put us in an available suite upgraded at their cost but does not have the same amenities such as the balcony and view of the courtyard which we requested. We asked if we could stay in that room tonight and move into ours the next day since it was booked, we were told no, if we take the suite then the whole thing changes and that other room is no longer available, even though it isn't booked.... Oh well, we decide to wait and find out during this time about the hidden $22/day for parking after spending $800 to stay there... So I ask, the price difference in the suite upgrade is more than the covering cost of parking, can we do that instead, "We'll have to check" which after 4 days somehow nobody knew anything about and didn't do it. Rooms were nice and quiet wall to wall and floor to ceiling. However if I would've known how loud it is in the courtyard and not sound proof from that, We would've taken the suite. The cool part, they do something nightly for families out in the courtyard but you can hear every detail in your room so if you are trying to get young ones down early, it'll be loud. Restaurant has a cool vibe but mediocre food at best. Always understaffed and super long waits and very pricey (2 drinks, 2 appetizers, and 1 dessert Costs $75). The pool was okay. Advertised as a heated pool, the only heated part was the hot tub. The other 3 pools were definitely not heated. It was between 85 and 90 degrees each day we were there and the hot tub turned out not to be a relaxing pool but a place for everyone to warm up because it was unbearable. Staff simply stated "I don't know, guess it just feels cold but should be at a good temp" is all we ever got. Pros: Location Daily activities for kids The activities person was awesome Cons: Price for what you get hidden fees costly food long waits unhelpful staff cold pool (not heated as advertised) If room faces courtyard, will be loud in your room at night Balcony is TINY if you're a grown up. I've made the switch to Hyatt years ago and been loyal to them. We have had more than one experience like this with Hilton before and wasn't going to go back. We made this decision because the pool and activities sounded cool for the kids. Turns out, it confirms why we made the switch. At least with others like Hyatt and Marriott, they'll attempt to make things right, Not just a generic robotic response of "we're sorry, we strive for excellence, blah blah blah" Overall, not worth the price.
Mar 19, 2025 · Adam SimmonsThe Hilton San Antonio Hill Country is right next to two of the best family-friendly resorts including the Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and the JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country. We have stayed at the previous two and wanted to see what this hotel had to offer as it is definitely more budget-friendly. The hotel offered a variety of kid activities the week of Spring Break. The pools are heated, so we swam in the 70 degree weather. The hot tub was definitely our fave. This hotel is not like the previous two that I mentioned in regards to pool and resort-style amenities, but for the price, it was worth it. We did not eat on site. My kids loved the outdoor courtyard areas. The basketball court located on property. The smores and use of the firepit and sitting areas. They enjoyed the courtyard games. We stayed in Room 505; it was super quiet on the 5th floor, and I was able to watch the nightly movies from our balcony. Clean, comfy bedding, water pressure was not to my liking in the shower, but my kids didn't mind the light pressure. I didn't feel that the hotel was over crowded at any given time; we love the lack of crowds. We saw many family groups enjoy their time at this hotel.
Mar 22, 2025 · Sonyta SoGreat location. Literally across the street from sea world. Hotel lobby is spacious and clean with friendly employees. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating. The wait staff was awesome. Our room was spacious but we were greeted with the grossest pillow cases upon entering our room. They were stained and looked absolutely gross. We chased down a maid and ask for clean ones. The AC was loud. The hall noise was loud. The hotel grounds are perfect for families with great pools and outdoor games like chess, checkers, pools, games.
May 10, 2025 · Christian GFor a four star hotel this is quite a disappointing experience. We booked a junior suite and the service has been basically nonexistent the cleaning staff didn’t clean our rooms on day one or refill our waters. When we got back from a day at the pool we called about this they said the staff had gone home for the day. So we were without water and a garbage full of diapers. The staff did come by when we went to dinner and instead of straightening up they dropped off a huge pile of towels on the dining room table? I guess they couldn’t be bothered to put them in the bathroom. We rented a cabana at the pool for the day and our food took almost an hour to come. When we asked about it they said something must’ve gone wrong with the system. They finally brought out food and instead of comping it they gave us a free bowl of fruit… I should note the staff is extremely friendly and works very hard but I think the hotel is just overall understaffed
