I recently stayed at Homewood Suites and would describe my experience as a mix of both positive and disappointing elements. Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted by two wonderful ladies at the front desk whose kindness and professionalism set a welcoming tone for our stay. We were graciously offered a complimentary room upgrade, which was greatly appreciated and made our first few days very pleasant. The property offers several excellent amenities, including a well-maintained gym, a clean pool area, and a satisfying complimentary breakfast each morning. Additionally, I appreciated the pet-friendly policy, which made it possible for me to bring my dog along—an important factor in our travel plans. However, there were some issues that detracted from the overall experience. After several nights of paying daily, we were unexpectedly informed that we could not stay beyond 14 days and, furthermore, that we would not be permitted to return for six months. This was surprising and confusing, especially as we observed what appeared to be long-term guests during our stay, including rooms with decorated doors. Previous reviews also mentioned extended stays exceeding three weeks, so the inconsistency in policy enforcement was concerning. Additionally, our time in Room 401 was not ideal. The room had a strong odor of cigarette smoke and fresh paint, the bathroom door was broken, and one of the stovetop burners was not functioning—issues that made the room feel less comfortable and maintained than expected. In summary, while the hospitality and amenities were commendable, inconsistencies in booking policies and room maintenance issues left us disappointed. I hope the management considers greater transparency in policies and more attention to room upkeep to improve future guest experiences.

The **environment** of Homewood Suites by Hilton Carle Place - Garden City, NY, aims to provide a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere, characteristic of the brand's residential-style approach. The lobby and common areas are typically modern, well-maintained, and designed to foster a sense of community, including a seating area for guests. Guest suites are designed to feel like a home away from home, generally described as spacious and well-appointed. However, recent guest feedback points to some inconsistencies in room maintenance. While one reviewer noted that rooms are typically "clean and typically maintained well (no burned out bulbs, or stained carpets, etc.)," another reported issues such as a "strong odor of cigarette smoke and fresh paint," a "broken bathroom door," and a non-functioning stovetop burner in a specific room (Room 401). This suggests that while overall cleanliness is a priority, individual room conditions may vary. The pet-friendly policy contributes to a more home-like environment for guests traveling with their animals, an important factor for many extended stays. The property also features outdoor spaces, potentially including a courtyard or grilling area, enhancing the residential feel.
The **services** at Homewood Suites are a significant draw for many guests. The staff frequently receives praise for their professionalism and helpfulness. One guest highlighted, "Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted by two wonderful ladies at the front desk whose kindness and professionalism set a welcoming tone for our stay." Another reviewer gave a "shout out to Joe at front desk who is always positive and helpful," indicating a consistent positive experience with the front desk team. A notable service mentioned by guests is the complimentary room upgrade offered upon arrival, which can significantly enhance the initial experience. The hotel provides a "satisfying complimentary breakfast each morning," a crucial amenity for extended stays, reducing daily food costs and providing convenience. Housekeeping services are provided, though the frequency for extended stays might vary and should be clarified upon check-in. The hotel generally aims for efficient check-in and check-out processes, with one guest noting the prompt refund of their deposit, if applicable. A critical point of contention, however, emerged regarding stay policies: "After several nights of paying daily, we were unexpectedly informed that we could not stay beyond 14 days and, furthermore, that we would not be permitted to return for six months." This inconsistency, especially when "long-term guests...including rooms with decorated doors" were observed, has caused confusion and disappointment for guests planning extended visits. This suggests a need for greater transparency in booking policies from management.
Key **features** of Homewood Suites by Hilton are tailored for longer visits. Each suite typically includes a fully equipped kitchen with a full-size refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, and two-burner stovetop, along with cooking utensils and dishware. This allows guests to prepare their own meals, a significant cost-saving and convenience for extended stays. The suites generally offer separate living and sleeping areas, providing more space and privacy than a standard hotel room. Complimentary Wi-Fi access is available throughout the property. The hotel also features a "well-maintained gym" and a "clean pool area," providing important recreational and wellness opportunities for guests. Other common amenities include a business center, meeting rooms, and laundry facilities. The hotel's pet-friendly policy allows guests to bring their dogs, an important consideration for many. However, a significant recent change in features is the implementation of **paid parking**. A recent guest reported, "we found signs in the parking lot saying the lot was now a pay lot... was about $13/night." This is a new development that has caused dissatisfaction, particularly among loyal guests, who feel it's an "added cash grab" given the "fairly high rate already." This new policy is a critical consideration for guests traveling by car and directly impacts the overall value perception.

It's important to note that while the hotel generally offers a good experience, the recent introduction of paid parking has led one loyal guest to state, "I don't plan to stay here in the future due to this," indicating that this new charge significantly impacts the perceived value and promotional appeal for some guests. Despite the mixed reviews regarding some operational inconsistencies and recent policy changes, the core offerings of spacious suites, complimentary breakfast, and a welcoming staff remain strong aspects of the Homewood Suites experience for those searching "Hotels Near Of Me" for extended stays.

Apr 19, 2025 · Jiana WatsonWe have stayed at this property several times in the past few years while visiting my aging parents in Queens. The experience is always positive. The rooms are clean and typically maintained well (no burned out bulbs, or stained carpets, etc. Only once did we have an issue where one of the burners on the stove wouldn't work (we made due since we only needed one to cook lol). The staff is friendly (shout out to Joe at front desk who is always positive and helpful). However... When we stayed there in early April (4/4/25, 4/6/25) we found signs in the parking lot saying the lot was now a pay lot. I didn't see that new stipulation on the app when I made the reservation (I use the Hilton app... not one of the 3rd party "cheap-o" hotel apps). It is possible that it was there and I just didn't notice it because I just go to previous stays and pick "stay again"... I asked the front desk and they confirmed that it did include paying guests at the hotel. I find this to be a big negative for me. I'm paying a fairly high rate already to get the name brand hotel with a good rep and a great staff... I don't think I should have to pay for parking as well (was about $13/night). I don't plan to stay here in the future due to this. There are other hotels in the area with similar rates that have free parking. I am a bit sad to have to cut ties with this hotel, but without good reason for the increase (added security does not seem to be needed and was not visible) I see it as a probable cash grab.
Apr 27, 2025 · Kevin waffenschmidtI stay at Homewood Suites Carle Place a few times, and every visit is just as excellent as the last. The service is consistently top-notch, with courteous and considerate staff who go out of their way to ensure a comfortable stay. The rooms are always clean and well-appointed, featuring modern decor and no carpet, which is a great touch. The beds are incredibly comfortable, making for a restful night’s sleep. One upgrade I’d love to see in the future is an update to the stovetops. The current coil burners are outdated, with the usual deformation that makes cooking a bit frustrating. A modern stove/oven or induction cooktop—depending on the room type—would be a fantastic improvement. The staff here is phenomenal, and I want to give special recognition to some standout team members: * Joseph is absolutely amazing—brilliant, kind, and always goes above and beyond to make my stay as comfortable as possible. Management should definitely recognize and reward his efforts! * Kenny is fantastic and ensures my stays are always enjoyable. * Kaylah is incredibly welcoming, always sending a friendly text message when I arrive, and has a great personality that brightens the experience. * Kilee did an outstanding job whenever I needed assistance and deserves recognition for her excellent service. There are a few others I see regularly but don’t know their names—so a big thank you to the entire team for making each visit memorable!
Mar 19, 2025 · Paul CThe room at the Homewood Suites at Carle Place was clean and the hotel was orderly. However, there was the addition of the parking charges. This was a big surprise. I have been charged for parking before, but only when we have stayed in a hotel in the middle of Chicago or NYC, where there is no hotel parking. Why should we be charged for parking spaces that surround the hotel? There is no further value for parking there than there has been in the past when we have stayed here. For example, additional money to pay for self-parking might be added if there was additional security or some other added feature. However. there is no service provided. Therefore, to charge for self-parking in a lot that has always been free in the past feels like price-gouging. There is no purpose for it except for Hilton to charge its loyal customers more. Unfortunate......
May 21, 2025 · Kimberly jarrellBooked a room here 2 months in advance here for my stepson graduation from out of town. When I get to town I find out they double booked my room and then offered a comped night at the Holiday Inn lmfao Hilton is equal to Holiday Inn now I thought this was supposed to be luxury hotels. They take your money and leave you either stranded or staying at a roach infested hotel no email, call, nothing. Great business model for crooks.
