This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had. No notifications about the the amenities being broken and shut down. While trying to get to my room I had to step over large wires running through hallways and hanging out of the ceilings. The hallways also had dust and ceiling particles all over from the work going on. The room was nice and clean and comfortable. The breakfast didn't taste good. Eggs tasted like powder and water and were super dry. Then I get back to my room to relax till check out and there is a random man in my room drilling and cutting in the wall to update stuff. I never got a notification from anyone telling me this was happening. He just showed up. That definitely could have been done when I checked out and the room was being cleaned. I check out hours early because I couldn't deal with the noise of drilling through metal. This was my 1st time staying in a hilton hotel and I don't know if I ever will again. I definitely feel like I wasted my money.
When local users search for "Hotels Near Of Me," particularly for extended stays, the Homewood Suites by Hilton Hartford Manchester often appears as a prominent option due to its brand recognition and intended focus on longer-term guests. Located at 109 Pavilions Dr, Manchester, CT 06042, USA, and contactable via phone at (860) 644-2244 or mobile at +1 860-644-2244, this hotel aims to provide a comfortable and convenient experience. However, an objective introduction necessitates a detailed look at both its intended offerings and actual guest experiences, especially considering recent feedback that highlights significant concerns.
Environment and Location:
The Homewood Suites by Hilton Hartford Manchester is situated on Pavilions Drive, typically implying a location within a commercial or business park area, often offering convenient access to local amenities and major roadways. Homewood Suites properties are generally designed to provide a more residential feel for extended stays, often with well-landscaped exteriors and common areas. However, recent guest reviews point to significant disruptions within the hotel's internal environment. Guests have reported "large wires running through hallways and hanging out of the ceilings," along with "dust and ceiling particles all over from the work going on." This indicates that the hotel is undergoing renovations or maintenance, which is severely impacting the cleanliness and aesthetic of the common areas. Such conditions can create an uninviting and potentially hazardous environment for guests trying to navigate to their rooms. The noise associated with these activities, specifically "drilling and cutting in the wall," further detracts from the peaceful environment expected of an extended-stay property. While the external location might offer convenience, the internal environment, at least during the period of these reviews, suggests a disruptive and less-than-ideal atmosphere for guests.
Services:
The services offered at Homewood Suites by Hilton Hartford Manchester, as described by recent guests, reveal significant shortcomings, particularly in communication and customer care. A major point of contention is the complete lack of notification regarding ongoing "amenities being broken and shut down" and "work going on" in the hotel. This failure to inform guests proactively about disruptions to their stay or potential noise issues is a severe service lapse. Furthermore, the most egregious service failure highlighted is a "random man in my room drilling and cutting in the wall to update stuff" without any prior notification from the hotel. This constitutes a significant invasion of privacy and demonstrates a profound disregard for guest comfort and security. The guest's attempt to relax before check-out was ruined by unexpected and noisy construction work within their private space, leading them to check out "hours early." Attempts to resolve issues, such as clarifying policies, also appear problematic, with a guest being charged an "extra $200 party fee" for balloons, despite the policy not being clearly stated on the booking app and the GM's unhelpful response. Customer service, generally, was described as "no good." While Homewood Suites typically offers a complimentary breakfast and evening social, the breakfast itself was heavily criticized for its quality, with eggs tasting "like powder and water and were super dry." This indicates a failure in delivering on a key complimentary service. The overall impression of the service is one of disorganization, poor communication, lack of accountability, and a disregard for guest experience during operational disruptions.
Features of the Hotel:
Homewood Suites properties are known for their extended-stay features, typically including full kitchens and separate living areas. Based on the reviews, the rooms themselves are generally perceived as a positive aspect. Guests have stated that the "room was nice and clean and comfortable" and "nice and spacious." This suggests that the individual suites, when not impacted by external work, meet the basic comfort and space requirements for an extended stay, which is crucial for this type of accommodation. However, other intended features of the hotel appear to be significantly compromised. The "hot tub was closed down," and the "pool was small," which detracts from the recreational amenities guests might expect. The issues within the hallways, such as "large wires running through hallways and hanging out of the ceilings," and "dust and ceiling particles all over," indicate that common area features are in a state of disarray due to ongoing work. The presence of construction personnel performing noisy tasks inside guest rooms without permission or notification is a direct infringement on the "features" of a private and relaxing space. While a full in-suite kitchen is a standard Homewood Suites feature, its functionality or specific condition is not detailed in these reviews, but it is implied by the brand. The quality of the "free breakfast" is highlighted as a negative feature, with "eggs tasted like powder and water and were super dry," indicating a poor culinary offering.
Promotional Information and Value:
Homewood Suites by Hilton typically promotes itself as an ideal solution for extended stays, offering amenities like complimentary hot breakfast, evening socials, spacious suites with full kitchens, and a home-like environment. The brand's association with Hilton Honors also implies benefits for loyal customers. However, the recent guest experiences severely undermine any such promotional claims. The "free breakfast was horrible," directly contradicting a key promotional point. The closure of amenities like the hot tub and the general disruption caused by renovation activities detract significantly from the value proposition, as guests are not receiving the full advertised experience. The unannounced entry of construction workers into rooms and the imposition of unexpected fees (like the "party fee" for balloons) without clear policy communication further erode trust and the perceived value of the stay. Guests expressed feeling that they "wasted my money" and questioned future stays at Hilton hotels, directly indicating a failure in delivering on the brand's promise of a quality experience. While the hotel aims to offer comfort and convenience for extended stays, the operational issues and service lapses described in the reviews indicate that, during this period, the actual value received by guests fell far short of what is promoted by the Hilton brand and what is expected of an extended-stay property.
Conclusion for "Hotels Near Of Me" Seekers:
For local users searching for "Hotels Near Of Me," particularly for extended stays, the Homewood Suites by Hilton Hartford Manchester at 109 Pavilions Dr, Manchester, CT 06042, presents a mixed and concerning picture based on recent guest feedback. While the individual rooms are described as "nice and spacious," providing a comfortable base for an extended stay, the overall experience appears to be significantly compromised by operational issues. The hotel's environment is marred by visible signs of ongoing renovations, including wires, dust, and noisy construction work in common areas and, critically, inside guest rooms without prior notification. Services are severely criticized for a complete lack of communication regarding these disruptions, unprofessional conduct regarding room entry, and arbitrary hidden fees, leading to a feeling of invaded privacy and poor customer service. Furthermore, key advertised features like the complimentary breakfast are reportedly of poor quality, and amenities like the hot tub have been closed. Despite the brand's reputation for comfort and value in extended stays, recent guest experiences strongly indicate that the hotel is currently failing to deliver on these promises, leading to feelings of wasted money and reluctance to return. Therefore, while it is a Homewood Suites by Hilton property, potential guests must carefully consider these significant drawbacks and inquire directly about the status of renovations and amenities before booking for "Hotels Near Of Me."

Mar 30, 2025 · Dorothy ChetwyndThe room was nice and spacious. The free breakfast was horrible. The pool was small. The hot tub was closed down. Customer service no good. They charge me an extra $200 party fee because I bought balloons in the facility and nobody stopped me and the GM says it’s in their policy. There’s nothing stated about balloons on the no party policy on the Hilton Honors app when you book the reservation (wish I can post a pic). So much for me trying 2 celebrate my daughter‘s 16th birthday with me and her brother they have cameras they can easy check there was no party!!!!!!!!
Apr 03, 2025 · Tamirha MillsGraduation season is upon us. The breakfast/dining area was packed early Saturday morning with folks in town for UConn's graduation, my husband and I among them. Very unhappy that we all had to wait for the breakfast buffet to be brought out. It should have been ready at 7am not just starting to be set up! No Coffee brewed, nothing! Everyone was annoyed! You would really think that Hilton would accommodate their guests a little better than that during graduation season. You can do better than that Hilton!
May 11, 2025 · Denise ArnoldSpent just under 3 weeks here for a business trip. The room was very comfortable with a convenient kitchenette. The daily breakfast buffet changes daily so it didn’t feel like you were stuck with the same food day after day. They have a nice outdoor patio with grills for guests to use and I took advantage of that which gave for more meal options. I only had one issue during my stay and that was a malfunction with my door that couldn’t get fixed until the next day but the staff bent over backwards to arrange another room for the night along with some basic supplies to get me through the night. Promptly at 7 AM they went to work repairing my door lock. I can’t fault anyone and they were beyond helpful. If I am ever in the area again, this will be were I stay.
Apr 18, 2025 · Landon MannorI waited weeks. Hoping id feel different, unfortunately I do not. I only use Hilton. Usually, I will choose Hampton, the breakfast is ALWAYS good. So service at the front desk was hit or miss. One lady would not stand up, smack lips while talking, and offer NO solutions to every single NO we got. Informed not only are we not allowed to have company in room, but they will evict for being in the LOBBY. Snowstorm ruined our trip, homewood is an extended stay facility that is supposed to make you feel at home with EXTRA hospitality. I felt like a red headed step child, the black sheep. Everything I asked was met with attitude. Breakfast. DRY DRY DRY. I can eat hotel eggs, no problem with all my traveling. Not these! Even added hot sauce, it was the texture of hydrophobic soil! The meat was mystery meat, staff couldn't tell you anything about the food. I had to eat bagel 🥯 and cereal. Making me sick for part of the stay. Since I was not staying just one day I went and bought my own food for the room. However the staff made sure the people they knew (most likely family) was eating and talked with them. Coffee only out and fresh for breakfast. Everywhere smelled like weed. IDC if its legal, so are cigarettes we don't want to smell or have your breath knocked out by how strong. Stay away if asthma is sensitive. The room was clean. The location was convenient for this stay. However, next time I fly to CT, I will stay at Hampton again at the bottom of the hill. The service added a level of stress I didn't need. There is too much to complain about, really. 3 stars. Unapologetic like customer service. You can preview other reviews, I'm usually positive. Never this loooong. This trip was a very important memory in the making, a milestone you don't get a second chance. Homewood almost succeeded at ruining it.
