0/10, do not go here, do not attempt to stay here. The hotel looks sketchy to begin with, and smelled but we went to our room and it smells, beds were stained, paint was peeling, stains just about everywhere, cooling system was disgusting. And in parts of the hotel there was just ceiling parts sitting around. Not to mention the sketchy people just walking around seemingly casing the place. As a woman, I would have never even walked by the hotel. The hot tub that we booked said place for was also broken and taped off. The pool was gross and you couldn’t see the bottom. The location was great being next to Dorney park but I would never stay there. We immediately left and found somewhere else to stay and are still awaiting a refund.

However, it is imperative to provide an objective introduction, which means acknowledging the full spectrum of available information, including customer feedback. Recent customer reviews, while subjective, offer a ground-level perspective that can be highly informative. Some guests have expressed significant concerns about the hotel's condition, noting issues such as cleanliness, maintenance, and overall upkeep. Specific points of feedback have included descriptions of stained beds and sheets, peeling paint, visible stains in various areas, and concerns regarding the cooling system. There have also been mentions of visible structural issues, such as ceiling parts being out of place in hallways.

The general appearance of the hotel has been described by some as "run down" and not aligning with promotional images. Cleanliness of bathrooms, including old stains and hair, has also been noted. Pests, specifically cockroaches, have been reported by some guests. The quality of the complimentary breakfast has also been a point of dissatisfaction for some, with descriptions of it being "trash" and concerns about the cleanliness of the breakfast area itself.
Another recurring theme in guest feedback pertains to the perceived atmosphere and clientele of the hotel, with some individuals expressing discomfort due to what they described as "sketchy" individuals around the property, leading to feelings of insecurity or being in an undesirable environment. These accounts, while personal, offer a strong contrast to the expected guest experience and highlight areas where the hotel may require significant improvement in terms of guest comfort and safety perceptions.
In summary, the Howard Johnson by Wyndham Allentown Dorney Hotel & Suites, as listed on platforms like "Hotels Near Of Me," offers a compelling location advantage for visitors to Dorney Park. Its brand affiliation suggests a certain level of standard services and amenities. However, prospective guests should be aware of the consistent and significant concerns raised in recent customer reviews regarding the hotel's current condition, cleanliness, maintenance, and overall guest experience. While the location remains a strong positive, guests are strongly advised to consider recent feedback and potentially verify current conditions directly with the hotel or through very recent reviews before making a booking decision.

Apr 26, 2025 · Madison BastianThe place did not look like the photos. It was run down and the rooms were not that clean. The beds were old. I had to ask for a new room because the bathtub had a lot of old stains and there was hair in the bathroom. The sheets had stains and I found pieces of hairs in the bed. There were cockroaches. Also the people guests who stay in the hotel look sketchy—like they are on drugs or homeless. I felt like I was in the ghetto. The pool area needs fixing and the hot tub is not in service. The breakfast was trash and the place doesn’t even look clean so I wouldn’t even get coffee from there. They need to invest in some new furniture and sheets and hire a cleaning crew instead of using an old lady and man to clean the rooms because they are not done thoroughly. Update and fix the place, part of the ceiling was gone in the hallway.
May 10, 2025 · E JThe hallways smelled, especially in the morning. The washer ate our money and then they tried to charge us more to use it. But the sight of cockroaches is what made us leave. I don't mind a not so great hotel as long as the beds are decent but I draw the line at infestatious bugs.
May 22, 2025 · Marc Fisher Jr.Do not waste your time even considering this hotel. While the location might be great being across from Dorney park a quick drive down the road in any direction. Is far superior to this hole. There were people lurking about outside who looked like they were casing the place. The hallway to the b section is creepy. The room smelled as soon as we opened the door. There were ceiling tiles down in the hallway. There were stains on the walls and on the bedding. It was truly disgusting. We checked back out and went to the four points Sheraton down the road. See the included. Unfortunately we are still waiting for a refund. We were told an email would be sent to the hotel manager for his approval for the refund which was to take 24 hours… 5 days later and we are still waiting.
Apr 29, 2025 · Suzanne BastianI had crumbs in my bed. Yes. The floors had food and dirt all over. The bed was probably 20 years old (super sunken in). Serious dirt and dust like coating everything. The towels were stained with yellow marks, and I couldn't tell if they were clean. No hot water, but it was warm. Idk if I got a room people usually don't use or what. I didn't say anything because the guy seemed really nice and I'm not an asshole. But I wouldn't come here ever again.
