Off the beaten path, but TOTALLY worth the drive!! The cabin was spacious and perfect for three people. The loft was great for my 6ft 2in son and the two futon beds were perfect for sleeping & relaxing. We didn’t play frisbee golf (too much rain), but the course looked fun and challenging. The area has a playground for kids, community campfire and a REALLY COOL TOWER!! The hike to the tower is a tough one and not for the faint of heart, but 100% worth it! My son flew his drone off the top of the tower and got some excellent pictures. If you like to stop and take pictures, this is a DO NOT MISS this little gem. Just remember your bug spray and water. Overall great cabins, fantastic hosts, and fabulous views!

A private wrap-around deck provides the perfect spot for morning coffee, and it's heated for winter and air-conditioned for summer comfort.

  • The Spruce Suite: A rustic yet comfortable treehouse suite, 15ft off the ground, accessed via a staircase. It's ideal for a romantic escape, sleeping 4, with a private deck, small kitchen, full bath, a loft with a queen bed, and two futons. It also includes Wi-Fi and Directv, heating for winter, and A/C for summer.

  • The Birdie & The Bogey: These are more primitive, "off-the-grid" style treehouses, similar to camping. They sleep 4 (Birdie) and 2 (Bogey) respectively. These units have no running water but are equipped with 12v solar-powered electricity for lighting and USB charging. Private outhouses are located right outside, and each features a private fire pit, deck, small table, chairs, and a grill. Guests for these cabins should be prepared for a short hike (300-400ft) up the mountain from the parking lot, though ATV transport for belongings is available.

  • The Beech & The Birch: These also offer a more primitive, camping-like experience for 2 guests. They include a queen-size bed, 12v solar-powered electric with USB, no running water, private outhouses, fire pits, decks, small tables, chairs, and grills. These are noted for being very large and private sites.

Pets are welcome, making it a great choice for those traveling with their furry companions. Bedding, towels, and cookware are generally provided, making for a more comfortable stay.

Features: Disc Golf Paradise and Mountain Adventures

The standout feature of In The Trees is its exceptional 18-hole mountain disc golf course. This course is not just a casual addition; it's a challenging and engaging experience that snakes through 26 acres of the mountainside. Reviews consistently highlight its uniqueness and difficulty, with many calling it a "workout" due to the significant elevation changes and rugged terrain. "Super cool elevation shots" and "very tekky" are common descriptions. The course is designed to take advantage of the natural landscape, with beautiful quartz boulders acting as obstacles and tee boxes perched on cliffs, offering exhilarating drives. Guests of the resort enjoy unlimited disc golf included with their rental, and for day visitors, it's only $5 per person to play all day. The course is open seven days a week from 9 AM to 7 PM and can be found on UDisc and Disc Golf Scene.

Beyond disc golf, the resort's 50-foot mountaintop tower is another significant draw. This tower provides truly unparalleled panoramic views of the White Mountains, making it a must-visit for photographers and nature lovers alike. The challenging hike to the tower adds to the sense of accomplishment, and the rewards are well worth the effort.

For those who love water activities, the resort offers access to a pristine sandy beach on Virginia Lake, less than a mile hike from the property, providing opportunities for swimming, fishing, and kayaking.

The "primitive" nature of some accommodations is a feature in itself, appealing to those who desire a true "off-the-grid" experience while still having access to some essential comforts. This blend of rustic living with recreational opportunities creates a unique and adventurous atmosphere.

Beautiful little cabins perched on trees above a strenuous disc golf course. A melennial, adventurous hikers paradise. Great vibes. Cute cabin getaway with plenty of hiking nearby. Anyone who stays here needs to remember to ring the 🔔.

We felt welcome from the moment of check-in with Carrie and Matt thru check-out. They made sure we knew where to find the trails and the fire pit. Our stay in the Grand Oak was fabulous. It was a beautiful cabin with all of the amenities that we could have needed. The attention to details was appreciated. The wrap around porch was perfect to relax with our evening beverages after the hike to the top of the mountain and watch tower. It was the perfect setting for a girls weekend away. We can't wait to go back!!

Stayed 2 nights at the Grand Oak Tree House and loved it! I booked through Airbnb and it went smoothly. Amanda was always quick to reply to any of my questions leading up to our stay, and we were warmly welcomed by Carrie when we arrived. The rental was very clean and had all the amenities. Plus how can you beat staying in a Tree house? They recommended local beaches and hikes, had a fun playground and large fire pit. While we didn't have time to give the disk golf a try, there were other guests that were having fun playing the course. The experience was amazing for all ages, even the 18 month old had a blast! Definitely recommend and would go back in a heart beat! Thanks for such a fun vacation!
