It's been about 2 years since I went but the fact that I didn't rate it is such an oversight on my part because this place deserves so much attention! The food and presentation were AMAZING and the staff was overwhelming friendly and helpful! They all remembered I have a gluten allergy and every morning they made sure I had an amazing breakfast. We had booked for our 8 year anniversary and it was worth the extra to get the room with the cells. It was one of the most unique places I've ever stayed and frankly, no place has been comparable since. I 100% highly recommend. You will not be disappointed! We spent our time in the area going to the local caves around the area and rock hounding while may of the other folks staying at the same time were bike riders and were riding several of the trails in the area. It was so cool and well worth it. They were redoing the parking lot in the back when we were staying so I bet that's nice now. We will be back for sure and I've recommend to anyone who might go into that direction. Take the time and travel there because it's worth it! *Update - we came back and stayed again, but this time, the parking lot was finished and they work finishing up some other updates. Sounds like we'll need to be back in a year or two to see more updates! Same as before, the stay was excellent and I would recommend!

One of our very favorite places! We stayed here in 2016 and just stayed again last week for three nights. This time we stayed in the Amish room. This room has a super unique copper tub that is very long. There is no shower which was quite a challenge for us staying 3 days but we made it work. The owners here couldn't be nicer people. We talked to them multiple times and they seem genuine and caring. They are making updates to the property and it is looking nice! The breakfasts here are the highlight! The food is so delicious and you get such a large amount that it will fuel you for the day whether you are shopping, biking, walking, taking cave tours, etc! The Jailhouse Inn has 12 rooms and every single one is different. The Amish room shares a balcony with the detention room on the top floor. It is so nice to sit out there in the rocking chairs and read! The bike trails in this area of the state are excellent. A few bumpy spots but nothing major. We biked from Preston to Harmony and back one day and then from Preston to Lanesboro and back the next. We had such a great time and cannot wait to come back and stay at the jailhouse again! The Amish room has a few fun features like a Checkers table with little apples as the pieces and a real chamber pot. But don't worry-it's not to use, there's a real modern toilet, haha! Thank you Tom and Dorle for your amazing hospitality. My only regret is that I forgot to purchase one of the super cute flour sack towels that were for sale in the breakfast room!

We had an amazing night at the Jailhouse. Loved the quiet Amish room with the outside sitting area. Vicky was purely genuine and amazing making sure we had a great time. Doralee was a wonderful host. We loved everything about our first B&B experience. The breakfast was fantastic fueled us for our long bike ride. Can’t wait to stay here again. Thank you.

Hands down, the best experience I've ever had at a B&B! The rooms are all lovely, and the staff are all friendly and as helpful as could be hoped for! The owners are there every day, and they are lovely people! Breakfast was a phenomenal affair and more than we could eat. The atmosphere is relaxing and the house beautiful and comfortable. Perfect for a romantic getaway or a girls weekend!
