Large complex on the harbor and close to the small town center. Very large room. Everything made a new, very well-kept impression. Very friendly reception, where free coffee is available around the clock. Very good value for money (not only) by Acadia National Park standards. We paid $225 a night, otherwise you can easily pay twice as much for comparable accommodation, especially at Bar Harbour. The restaurant at the hotel is nothing special, but quite good, and there are not many alternatives (we liked Colonel's Restaurant and Bakery on Main Street, a few hundred meters away on Main Street)

The environment of the Kimball Terrace Inn is one of its most appealing features. Located at 10 Huntington Rd, Northeast Harbor, ME 04662, USA, the inn is nestled on the picturesque Northeast Harbor, providing many rooms with stunning harbor views from private balconies or patios. Northeast Harbor itself is renowned as a quieter, more sophisticated counterpart to the bustling Bar Harbor. The hotel's proximity to the small town center allows for easy walks to local boutiques, art galleries, and dining options, fostering a relaxed and understated "class" that defines this part of Mount Desert Island. Beyond the immediate harbor, guests are just a short, easy drive to the myriad attractions of Acadia National Park, including its extensive hiking and carriage trails. Promotional information and guest reviews highlight several key features and advantages of staying at the Kimball Terrace Inn. Value for money is a recurring theme, with many guests praising the reasonable rates, especially when compared to accommodations in the often pricier Bar Harbor. One guest explicitly mentioned paying $225 a night, noting that comparable lodging in Bar Harbor could easily be double that price. The location is consistently rated as excellent, providing an easy drive to Acadia National Park and all surrounding towns on Mount Desert Island. The large room sizes are also a positive point for many, providing ample space for comfort. The friendly and helpful reception staff are frequently commended, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere. While the overall impression of the rooms is generally positive, some guest feedback points to areas for improvement. Some reviews mention that while rooms are clean, guests' bare feet might get dirty, suggesting a need for deeper floor cleaning. Additionally, the thinness of the walls has been noted, leading to noise transfer from adjacent rooms. Despite these minor issues, the general sentiment is highly favorable, with many guests expressing a willingness to stay again due to the unbeatable combination of price and location. The presence of a gift shop and a game room also adds to the overall appeal, providing additional convenience and entertainment options for visitors. The Kimball Terrace Inn stands as a testament to understated charm and practicality, offering a solid base for anyone looking to immerse themselves in the natural beauty and tranquil ambiance of Mount Desert Island.

Oct 13, 2024 · jep _We stayed at the Kimball Terrace Inn for 4 nights. The location was great - an easy drive to Acadia and all of the towns surrounding the area. The room was clean(ish) and comfortable. When walking in the room barefoot our feet got dirty/black so we made sure to stay in socks. The walls are very thin! We could hear everything on both sides of us. Housekeeping was available to service our rooms each day. Our housekeeper made our beds, emptied trash and gave us fresh towels. The restaurant was nice to have as an option. The food and service were both average. Parking was excellent! A nice large lot and easy to find a place near our room. The gift shop, coffee bar and game room were all nice amenities! I would stay here again. The price and location are hard to beat.
Sep 07, 2024 · Sharon TillerWe would definitely stay here again! We came for a 4 day trip to Acadia and it was perfect for what we needed. Simple rooms but super clean. There’s a small table and chairs in the room and a mini fridge. If you get a sea view room, there isn’t actually much of a view, but they come with a really nice outdoor patio that has a screen if you want to leave the sliding door open without bugs getting into your room. They do overlook the pool and at night, the views of the sky are really nice. There’s a microwave and coffee/tea in the main lobby/shop area that also has a pretty good little store selection. The common area has a TV, games, and books. And there’s also an elevator for the second floor which was nice for moving all our gear. The restaurant next door was pretty good as well but we liked going into Bar Harbor, which is about a 20 minute drive. Overall great location, value, and staff!
Jun 19, 2024 · Ashley LaneIt’s really a good choice to stay in this place. The price is great, the room is nice and clean, and the front desk is super friendly. The only downside by far is the noise, somehow we heard fluid flowing behind the wall all the time. It is not too loud to fit though. The restaurant near the hotel building provides an option, although the food and service is, quite average.
Sep 30, 2024 · CHENGYOU YUEWe stayed for four nights. The hotels location was good for going to the various sections of Acadia. The room was clean and comfortable. We had a room at the end of the hallway, but the walls are very thin and we could hear the people next door talking. Thankfully they were not night owls!
