This is from my other profile, now there's 2 updates! Words cannot say how relaxing this resort is. The concept is not that "of a resort" but rather "Hey, I'm going to a friend's house in the woods!" I was finally able to meet the owner herself and every member of her "familial staff". They're all friends who work together and genuinely love what they do and you can see and taste it in everything around the resort. This is one of the most tranquil vacations I've ever been on and I don't want to leave. I can't say enough about how wonderful the experience is. It's not " a room". It's THE full blown experience. Incredible doesn't begin to describe it. The updates: Never in my life have I been happy or excited to get OUT OF A HOT SHOWER when the fan is on. Until today!I turned the heater on and just got out of the shower and I wasn't freezing! The heater goes from Arizona arid to Sauna humid, but I still wasn't cold! This lovely feature was carefully thought of and it's a wonderful experience! The other update is the breakfast! Haley REALLY knows how to make people feel at home. She made scrambled eggs just like my mom and grandmother have. She also makes Sticky Buns from her family's recipes! Her wife will also be bartending here soon and I know we will have to come back for that because she's fantastic!! This morning was also wonderful because I watched Melissa- the owner herself - walk around and personally greet every guest and ask them how they slept and socialize with them. They really know how to make people feel at home, or even more at home, than where they currently live. I could keep going with this review, but you just need to come here for yourself!!! You won't be disappointed!!

The accommodations at Long View Resort are meticulously appointed with guest comfort and luxury in mind:
Long View Resort prides itself on offering a range of amenities and services that elevate the guest experience beyond a typical hotel:
Long View Resort operates on a unique concept that prioritizes a personalized, home-like experience over a traditional hotel model. This "familial staff" approach, where the owner and her team (often friends who genuinely love what they do) interact personally with guests, is frequently highlighted in reviews as a defining and incredibly positive aspect of the stay. Guests consistently feel important, heard, and genuinely at home, or even "more at home than where they currently live." The dedication of individuals like Chef Haley and the owner, Melissa, in providing exceptional service and a warm atmosphere is a significant feature.
The resort is particularly well-suited for those seeking a tranquil and immersive nature experience without sacrificing comfort or luxury. It specializes in creating a "full-blown experience" rather than just providing a room. This includes not only the physical amenities but also the personalized interactions and attention to detail. The resort is also gaining popularity as a wedding venue, particularly for intimate gatherings of up to 50 guests, offering stunning backdrops and comprehensive packages that include accommodations and event services. They are woman-owned and have been in business for over a year, with a strong focus on hospitality veterans on their team.
Important to note is that the resort has a minimum check-in age of 21 and generally does not allow pets, though it's advised to confirm pet policies for specific rooms. Check-in is from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM, and check-out is from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM. There is a cleaning fee (USD 30.00) and a resort fee (USD 35.00) per accommodation, per stay, which includes additional inclusions like concierge service, in-room bottled water, in-room coffee, laundry facilities, and shuttle service.
Long View Resort positions itself as a unique and luxurious mountain retreat, and its pricing reflects the tailored, high-service experience it offers. While specific rates vary by season and room type, the starting price for wedding events can be around $13,000, which often includes multi-night accommodation across multiple spaces for up to 24 guests, exclusive use of the lodge, and a range of wedding-specific services. For individual stays, guests can expect prices that reflect the boutique, concierge-level service. The value is significantly enhanced by the complimentary gourmet breakfast, the extensive concierge services that help plan local excursions, and the included amenities like adventure gear. Guests are encouraged to contact the resort directly via their phone numbers or website to inquire about specific room rates, availability, and any special packages or seasonal promotions, especially for romantic getaways or bespoke experiences in the Smoky Mountains.

May 18, 2025 · Laura BoatmanI had a short but lovely stay here in early April! The staff stayed up to greet me even though I got in pretty late, and I received a complementary room upgrade since I was the only guest that night. The room was clean and cozy with a beautiful view, I had a delicious homemade breakfast, and I received helpful advice on where to hike the next day! I’m so glad I chose a quieter spot to stay where I could enjoy the beauty of the scenery without the crowds. It was perfect for my solo trip and I hope to return soon!
May 20, 2025 · Lindsay GarciaMy husband and me could not have imagined a more beautiful, tasteful, clean and welcoming place. We stayed at Longview almost a full week and each day we would be excited to wake up in softest cotton sheets, eat delicious homemade fresh hot breakfast then go for an adventure that Melissa, the owner, would recommend and if needed, even organize! Nothing is impossible for her! We bought many wonderful hand made items that local artists make, greatest quality and priced so reasonably. Entire staff are friends and family which makes entire energy of the place so warm and loving. It was hospitality at its best!!
Apr 03, 2025 · Ida Ivanovic⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The view was spectacular! Our room (Pretty Hollow) had the best view and was very comfortable with robes, mini fridge, and a heater in the bathroom. Our overall feel of the resort was elegant but comfortable to lounge around. The basket of games in the common area was also a nice touch. Sitting on the deck couches with the fire pits lit watching the sun set was very relaxing. Everyone was so nice, friendly, and accommodating. The food was DELICIOUS!!! Thank you Chef Haley! Breakfasts had a good selection. Steak/chicken kabobs were a highlight with orzo salad. Creamy tomato soup with grilled cheese hit the spot on a cold night, and the cookie skillet was decadent. Thank you for a great stay!
Apr 13, 2025 · m ALLA wonderful week to remember We just returned from a week at the Long View Resort in Bryson City, NC, and we couldn’t be more impressed. The view alone is reason enough to visit—while the website shows a beautiful scene, the actual view is simply breathtaking. The cabins are lovely, and ours was brand new—just opened a few weeks before our stay. The location is excellent, with access to hiking trails ranging from easy to challenging. We explored several trails and visited the Oconaluftee Visitor Center twice to watch the elk gather at sunrise and sunset—an unforgettable experience. Recommend the Scandinavian soak under the stars. I did and my husband sat beside me as we enjoyed the star view and counting satellites in the pitch-dark skies without city lights. While the property and location easily earn 5 stars, what truly made our stay exceptional was the warmth and hospitality of the staff. A special shoutout to Haley, Melissa, and Rosa—we felt like we were saying goodbye to close friends when we checked out. Breakfasts at the lodge were consistently delicious, and we highly recommend having Hailey cook dinner for you at least once. We did so twice, and not only is she a fantastic cook, but she’s also an absolute joy to chat with afterward. Whether we dined at the lodge or in town, we loved ending each evening gathered around the fire with other guests and hosts. It became a highlight of our trip—connecting, laughing, and making new friends. We’re already talking about when we’ll return.
