Owner was nice and cabin was clean. Resort is on a hill leading to a good climb up to our cabin from the water. My only complaint was you can't see the water from most cabins. Very wooded. Fishing was mediocre. Most target panfish. Fished for bass pike and walleye with limited success but the timing was not right and the weather was rainy and windy.

Maple Terrace Resort Introduce

For those of us who live in Wisconsin, the perfect vacation often means heading "Up North" to a cozy cabin nestled among the trees, with a lake just a short walk away. Maple Terrace Resort in Birchwood is a prime example of this classic Wisconsin experience. This is the kind of place you recommend to friends and family visiting from out of state, or where you go for a simple, relaxing getaway yourself. It provides a peaceful, natural setting on Big Birch Lake, offering a break from the daily grind and a chance to enjoy the simple pleasures of the Northwoods.

Customer reviews for Maple Terrace Resort highlight its key strengths: cleanliness, comfort, and friendly ownership. One guest noted that the "Owner was nice and cabin was clean," which are two of the most important factors for a great stay. Another long-time guest, who has been staying there for several years, specifically praised the "clean cabins" and the "helpful and accommodating" owners. This consistent positive feedback on the owners and the condition of the accommodations speaks volumes about the quality of the resort. Guests feel welcome and well-cared for, which is a hallmark of true Wisconsin hospitality.

While the resort is in a beautiful wooded setting, some reviews offer practical insights for those considering a visit. One guest mentioned that their cabin was on a hill, requiring a "good climb up...from the water." They also noted that due to the wooded surroundings, you "can't see the water from most cabins." This kind of information is helpful for anyone who might prefer a direct lake view or has mobility concerns. Another review discussed fishing, describing it as "mediocre" during their visit due to weather conditions and targeting specific fish like bass, pike, and walleye. However, they did note that the lake is good for panfish. These honest, factual details help set proper expectations and allow guests to plan their trip accordingly, whether it’s for a serious fishing expedition or a relaxing family trip with some casual angling.

We have enjoyed our stay here for the last several years. It is close to our family cabin on Birch Lake. We love the covered porch of cabin 7. Cabins clean and owners helpful and accommodating. We only wish we had more than one bathroom in the cabin we rent.

It's quiet, beautiful, small enough with nine cabins and no bar on the grounds. It is owned and operated by a great couple that truly cares about you having a memorable week.
