The Meadowmere Resort is centrally located in Ogunquit, Maine, offering a convenient base for exploring the town's renowned attractions. While not directly on the ocean, its position on Main Street provides easy access to everything Ogunquit has to offer. The resort is designed to be a self-contained retreat, featuring various buildings and ample grounds that include landscaped areas, outdoor pools, and common spaces for guests to relax. The atmosphere generally aims for a comfortable and inviting environment suitable for a resort stay. The property was last renovated in 2016, with ongoing upgrades noted in guest reviews.
The resort's central location is a significant advantage, allowing many attractions to be within walking distance or a short drive. Ogunquit Beach, known for its soft sand and gentle waves, is approximately a 10-14 minute walk (around 0.8 miles) via a scenic footpath. The iconic Marginal Way, a paved coastal walking path with breathtaking ocean views, and Perkins Cove, a charming fishing village with its unique shops and dining, are also easily accessible, approximately a 17-minute walk or 0.9 miles away. The Ogunquit Playhouse, America's Foremost Summer Theatre, is very close by, around a 6-minute walk (0.3 miles), making the resort an excellent choice for theatergoers. Other nearby points of interest include the Ogunquit Museum of American Art and various shops and restaurants in downtown Ogunquit. The Meadowmere Resort, as part of the Ogunquit Resort Collection, promotes itself as a family-owned hideaway and a year-round resort in the heart of Ogunquit. It highlights its "outstanding amenities and accommodations," including the award-winning Health Club & Spa, multiple pools, hot tubs, game room, and inviting common areas. The resort's environmental leadership and various special packages (Gourmet Dining, Spa, Craft Beer, Golf, Playhouse, Festivals, Honeymoon, Learn to Surf) are used to attract a broad clientele. The central location, within walking distance to the beach, Marginal Way, and the village center, is a key selling point for the "Hotels Near Of Me" category.
Guest reviews for Meadowmere Resort are generally positive, with many visitors consistently praising the "friendly and accommodating" staff, the "very clean" rooms and facilities, and the "loved amenities." Many guests describe it as "just what we need to relax and get away" and "highly recommend" it, with some being "return" guests for many years. The "great indoor pool" and "Roman Spa" are often highlighted as excellent features, especially for year-round stays. The convenient location, being "walking distance to downtown Ogunquit" and the beach, is a recurring positive comment.
However, an objective overview must also address areas where guest experiences have varied. Some recent reviews, even from returning guests, mention that "rooms needs some love, the carpet looks old and dirty." Issues with noise from "noisy people and kids running everywhere very early in the morning and late at night" are noted, particularly for rooms located near stairs. There are also mentions of "some amenities were closed due of construction or repairs," specifically referencing the "outside hot tub was closed (main reason we go) and the pool was closed" during certain stays. This indicates that while the resort is committed to upgrades, guests might encounter some disruptions or unavailable facilities during their stay, which should ideally be communicated proactively. Some older reviews also indicated disappointment with room furniture or overall condition. The mandatory daily resort fee is also a point for guests to note.
In conclusion, Meadowmere Resort offers a feature-rich and generally well-regarded resort experience in Ogunquit, characterized by its excellent range of indoor and outdoor pools, a comprehensive spa and fitness center, and a convenient central location. While the resort's staff consistently receives high praise for their hospitality, potential guests should be aware of the ongoing renovation efforts that might lead to some amenities being temporarily unavailable or older parts of the property showing signs of wear. Nonetheless, its overall amenities and location make it a strong option for a diverse range of travelers to Ogunquit.

May 21, 2025 · Cassandra VasquezSecond time staying at Medowmere for our anniversary. Overall almost everything was good. Of course I understand that some amenities were closed due of construction or repairs. AC & Heating systems worked fine. A lot of kids running around the Roman Spa. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Rooms needs some love, the carpet looks old and dirty. Sink is kind of small and it was noisy because we got the room next to the stairs so a lot of noisy people and kids running everywhere very early in the morning and late at night. Besides that we had a good experience and we would be back there soon and we hope we can see more upgrades.
Mar 29, 2025 · Luis LineroWe got a flash deal for here to spend a relatively quiet New Years by the coast. We wanted something cozy and lush on a budget. So while we put down serious money at the fancy spa at The Cliff House, we still got to enjoy the indoor pool, Roman bath, and outdoor hot tub at our more modest accommodations. Meadowmere is definitely a more old school establishment, but it's very kept up with a lot of amenities, a fun layout with lots of nooks and crannies to get whatever you need in close proximity to your room (ice, library, coffee bar, filtered water, pub). Parking was easy. The front desk staff was very kind and accommodating, easily retrieving two champagne glasses, extra coffees, and even a pair of hotel slippers when my friend forgot flip flops. The beds and sheets were comfy, the little balcony space was a welcome addition, the fridge was large and designed for storing a lot of wine (a useful and welcome surprise for us) and the heater and air conditioner were a new design and quiet. The only complaint about the room was that it would get oddly stuffy, especially if we were out awhile or after a shower. We'd need to constantly adjust the air and crack the balcony sliding door open to get the room comfortable. The one tiny sink was also a bit odd, especially in a room with two queen beds. Both things are fairly minor complaints and for the flash sale, off season rates, certainly not deal breakers. The hotel was surprisingly full for New Years (mostly older folks and families taking advantage of the water amenities), which means people love that hotel. It is very close (couple minutes walk) to the Marginal Way Cliff walk which is SO LOVELY. Affordable little getaway. Not fancy, but very comfortable.
Jan 03, 2025 · Mia NiloMy boyfriend and I stayed here for Valentines weekend and it was fantastic. We splurged for the Jacuzzi and Fireplace suite and it was so worth it. Awesome shower, comfortable bed and spacious room. The resort is a huge reason why we chose here. Can’t beat a pool and huge roman spa! We will definitely return.
Feb 16, 2025 · Petra PerraultThe room was small, the out side hot tub was not in use they had a replacement 4 person hot tub which it took them 45min to take the cover off. and was cold for a hot tub. The indoor hot tub was being worked on so I really think the maintenance is lacking. I have heard People talking in other hotels that this hotel and others have been bought out by India this is not good.
