We are yearly guests of The Colonial Inn. It’s conveniently located on Shore Road for easy access to the restaurants and shops in the village as well as easy access to marginal way. Staff have always been very accommodating and helpful. The rooms are large and for the most part very clean. This is nit picky but every year we’ve stayed I’ve had the clean the filters in the air conditioners in the rooms. It would seem those don’t get cleaned on a regular basis. They serve a continental breakfast on site every morning. Nothing out of this world, but very well put together and always stocked well. We’ve yet to have a bad stay at The Colonial Inn and return often enough to be called regulars. Overall great place to stay in Ogunquit.

Oct 27, 2024 · Ben ShawSeveral families made a reservation for a gathering through a 3rd party website. Some booked through the hotel website. After booking and receiving the confirmation, the next day, the hotel called and said we made an error and posted the incorrect rate, you have two options: cancel your reservation or pay the difference, essentially double the cost. There were no apologies or sorry for the inconvenience or meet in the middle! Families needed time to process, the hotel never reached back out to us. Instead they just cancelled the reservation!! Clearly a very money hungry place, customer service lacks in communication AND they clearly don’t respect and accept responsibility for their errors!! As a fellow Mainer, this is not how professional companies or family friendly businesses keep any business!! If you’re gonna pay the money in Ogunquit, I’d stay elsewhere, because customer service lacks here from the top to reservations and they just want money, no matter how it affects the booking party!
Dec 01, 2024 · Michelle DubayAbsolutely loved our stay! The staff were all super friendly, the room was large with a big balcony and the afternoon cookies were delicious. The breakfast was not huge but had more than enough options. The pool was not yet heated during our mid June stay but that didn't stop us (or anyone) from swimming. Very family-friendly and in such a great location. 5 min walk to downtown, 10min walk to the beach and about 10-15min walk to Perkins Cove. We hope to make it back one day. Would highly recommend!
Jun 16, 2024 · Heather BOverall, a good stay and experience. The room was clean and well maintained. The main guest house is also very clean, the staff is amicable (not necessarily friendly or enthusiastic to help). For the price, this is a good value with nice amenities like a heated pool and fire pit.
Oct 01, 2024 · Jason HagenWe have stayed many times in this hotel, we come back for the convenient location and the old world 'colonial' feel to it, with the lovely wraparound porch and the swing chairs. There is a nice continental breakfast also which is complimentary. We've grown used to the old carpets and the slanting floors, it all adds to the charm. What we've grown rather tired of is the frosty borderline impolite sevice we receive from the disgruntled staff here. A bored and annoyed looking crew of employees with headphones in, talking nonstop to heavens knows whom all day on their phone, not even bothering to look up as you walk in. From the highly irritated man at check in (Sunday October 13th at 4pm) to the lady with the earpods at the breakfast room, you know they are not fit for custumoer service job because tourists seem to be of the utmost inconvenience to them. Over the last two years, the spa has been inoperative, they've 'called in the repair guy' who's always scheduled to come and fix it the day after you've checked out. Don't bother to bring your trunks, it will be out of order. If you can look past that, for that price, it's okay, oh and please bring ear plugs because in this old hotel you can tell exactly what time your neighbours wake up, go to bed, and have a pretty good idea of their bathroom schedules also.
