I only put the room as a 1 rating because it was HUGE for the price. But, it smelled poorly AND there was a dead cockroach in the refrigerator. Next day before we left I found another crawling on the wall so we had to search through all of luggage. The website is completely out dated and has no hot tub nor workout room which is why I mainly booked it. Also no one mentioned their would be breakfast at the front desk so we missed out on that entirely as well.

The service at New World Inn, according to recent feedback, can be a mixed experience, though some comments highlight the challenges faced by local motels and the efforts of management. While one review points to a lack of communication regarding breakfast and outdated website information, another provides a broader context, acknowledging the difficult circumstances (such as the impact of the COVID-19 crisis and reliance on state cold weather vouchers) that have affected local motels and their staff. This review suggests that the owners and management are "over worked and stuck with an overwhelming level of issues," but "tried to help as much as possible." This indicates a level of dedication from the staff, even when facing significant operational pressures.
Generally, the New World Inn offers a range of fundamental services:
It is important for potential guests to consider the context of the reviews, particularly the one regarding the social challenges faced by local motels. This suggests that while staff may be trying their best, the overall service experience might be impacted by factors beyond their immediate control in terms of property upkeep and amenity delivery.
The New World Inn is noted for offering "HUGE" rooms for the price, which can be a significant advantage for travelers seeking more space. The hotel aims to provide "reasonably Priced, comfortable and clean accommodations."
Key features include:
However, there are significant discrepancies between advertised features (especially on an "outdated" website) and actual availability, as highlighted by a customer review. Specifically, the guest noted "no hot tub nor workout room," which were reasons for their booking. This indicates that potential guests should verify the current status of all desired amenities directly with the hotel. Furthermore, the review mentioned unpleasant smells and the presence of cockroaches, which are serious concerns regarding the cleanliness and condition of the rooms. The comments about "severely damaged historic rooms" needing restoration also suggest that while efforts are made, some rooms might still be in a state of repair or have aged features.
When searching for "Hotels Near Of Me" and considering the New World Inn, the primary promotional aspect appears to be its competitive pricing for the size of its rooms. However, prospective guests should approach promotional information with caution, given the feedback regarding outdated online details and cleanliness issues.
Key points regarding promotions and value:
In conclusion, the New World Inn could be a viable option for travelers to Barre seeking a large room at a low price. However, it is essential to manage expectations, especially regarding the current condition of the facilities and the availability of all advertised amenities. Given the very mixed and concerning reviews, particularly regarding cleanliness and amenities not matching website descriptions, it is highly recommended that potential guests call the hotel directly to confirm all details and ensure the property meets their specific needs before booking.

Oct 22, 2024 · Shanna WallachyI'd like to address the local motels response to refusing state cold weather vouchers through VT dcf emergency housing following the covid crisis and shutdown affecting their businesses cause of people's limited ability to travel. I believe there needed to be more support by local social workers in the community to provide oversight management support and respite response cause the owners living locally from abroad and management living paycheck to paycheck were over worked and stuck with an overwhelming level of issues from substance abuse, sex and drug trafficking for people unable to afford to leave with limited options. I've seen abuse from people fearing the worst on people working who have their hands tied and don't have the training or resources needed to keep everyone safe around their property. They put alot of work into restoring severely damaged historic rooms from human beings cooped up in desperation way too long they need rest to cope and I believe they tried to help as much as possible while pushed passed the limit emotionally physically forced to improvise minute to minute in assessing all the overwhelming damage done. Unfortunately there is no time to point fingers so everyone gets lost as a result and that needs to change
Dec 18, 2024 · Lauren Mel HamThe desk clerk is very kind and helpful. Room had an old smoke/musty smell so I bought some air freshener and opened the patio door, which helped. We were apprehensive about staying here at first, but out choices were limited. And actually it was a great night's sleep. Very quiet. Comfy bed. Motorcycle was safe
Jun 13, 2024 · Jo BelilesDO NOT STAY HERE PREVALENT AND OBVIOUS DRUG USE ON PROPERTY NO HOT WATER "that's just how it is here" was the managers response to multiple complaints of drug deals/use in parking lot and a criminal lack of hot water (VT in October). the unnecessarily snide manager was aware of this at check in but didn't notify any of the guests before the NON REFUNDABLE bill was paid. we moved on without refund or sleep.
