I am currently at this hotel and I must say I am thoroughly disappointed with my experience. There were several issues that left me quite frustrated during my stay. First and foremost, upon check-in, I was informed that the hotel holds an additional $200 on my card, which was not mentioned during the booking process. This was an unwelcome surprise and put a dent in my travel budget. Another concerning incident was when someone entered my room without knocking or calling, while I was in the middle of taking a bath. This breach of privacy was not only uncomfortable but also unacceptable for a hotel of this caliber. They made me pack up all of my things and move to another room abruptly because the plumbing in my room was leaking down to another room. Furthermore, the hotel advertised having a laundry room, but to my dismay, I found out that it was not available during my stay. This was particularly inconvenient as I had planned to do some laundry. To add to my frustration, the Wi-Fi did not work as advertised, making it difficult for me to stay connected and get some work done during my stay. Lastly my key card was deactivated without prior notice, forcing me to go to the front desk to get it reactivated, which was an unnecessary hassle. This is just day 3 and I have 2 days left. Overall, my stay at this hotel so far was marred by a series of disappointments, including the undisclosed $200 hold, the intrusion into my room, the lack of available amenities, the faulty Wi-Fi, and the key card deactivation. I cannot recommend this hotel to fellow travelers because of their bait and switch tactics.

Post 1429 Phoenix Tempe ASU Introduce

For those planning an extended visit to the vibrant Tempe area of Arizona, whether for academic pursuits at ASU, a temporary work assignment, or a longer family visit, finding suitable accommodation that feels more like a home away from home can be a priority. Post 1429 Phoenix Tempe ASU is an extended stay hotel that aims to cater to these needs, offering rooms equipped with kitchenettes and various on-site facilities. While it strives to provide a comfortable base for longer durations, it's important for prospective guests, especially Arizona locals, to be aware of the specific policies and amenities offered to ensure it aligns with their expectations.

This property is designed to offer more than just a typical overnight stay, often featuring amenities that support a self-sufficient lifestyle, such as in-room cooking facilities. However, as with any accommodation, individual experiences can vary, and understanding the specific details about its operations, including any additional charges or amenity availability, is key to a smooth stay. This article will delve into the location and accessibility of Post 1429 Phoenix Tempe ASU, its listed services, key features, and why it might be a consideration for locals seeking extended accommodation in the heart of Tempe.

Post 1429 Phoenix Tempe ASU is conveniently located at 1429 N Scottsdale Rd, Tempe, AZ 85288, USA. This address places it directly on North Scottsdale Road, a major arterial route that connects Tempe with Scottsdale, offering straightforward access to a multitude of destinations. The hotel is situated very close to Arizona State University (ASU), making it a practical choice for students, faculty, or visitors attending university-related events. Its proximity to ASU also means easy access to the lively Mill Avenue District, with its diverse array of restaurants, shops, and entertainment options.

For air travelers, the hotel is approximately 6.8 kilometers (around 4.2 miles) from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX), providing a relatively quick commute. While an airport shuttle service is listed as an amenity, it's often available for a fee and during specific hours, so confirming these details directly with the hotel is advisable. The strategic location also offers good connectivity to major freeways like Loop 202 and Loop 101, facilitating travel throughout the greater Phoenix metropolitan area, including popular destinations like Old Town Scottsdale, Tempe Town Lake (approximately 1.5 km away), and the Phoenix Zoo. Free self-parking is available on-site, which is a significant advantage for guests with vehicles, including dedicated spaces for trucks, buses, and RVs. Despite its central location on a busy road, which some guests have noted can lead to some road noise, the overall accessibility to key Tempe and Phoenix attractions is a major draw for this property.

Post 1429 Phoenix Tempe ASU offers a range of services and amenities aimed at facilitating longer stays, though it's important to note that the availability and functionality of some services have been points of concern for past guests. Based on public data, the hotel generally provides the following:

  • 24-Hour Front Desk: A front desk is available around the clock to assist with check-ins, check-outs (with express options), and guest inquiries.
  • Free Wi-Fi: Complimentary wireless internet access is advertised as being available in public areas and guest rooms to keep guests connected.
  • Free Self-Parking: Ample, free on-site parking is provided for guests, including spaces for larger vehicles.
  • Outdoor Pool and Hot Tub: The property features an outdoor swimming pool with sun loungers and umbrellas, along with a hot tub, for relaxation.
  • Fitness Center: A gym or fitness center is available for guests to maintain their workout routines.
  • 24-Hour Business Center: Equipped with computers and other facilities to assist business travelers.
  • Laundry Facilities & Laundry Service: Both self-service coin-operated laundry facilities and professional laundry service are listed. However, a recent review noted that the laundry room was unavailable during their stay, which is an important point for potential guests to verify directly with the hotel prior to booking if this amenity is critical.
  • Pet-Friendly Policy: Pets are allowed on request, though charges may apply and there might be size or number restrictions. It's crucial to confirm the exact pet policy and associated fees directly with the hotel.
  • Room Service: While typically a feature of full-service hotels, room service is listed as available.
  • Mini-Market/Convenience Store: An on-site mini-market for snacks and essentials.
  • BBQ Grills and Picnic Area: Outdoor facilities for guest use, adding to the extended-stay appeal.
  • Multilingual Staff: Staff are available to assist guests in multiple languages.

Post 1429 Phoenix Tempe ASU highlights certain features that cater specifically to its extended stay model and general guest comfort:

  • Kitchenette-Equipped Rooms: A primary feature for extended stays, rooms come with a kitchenette that typically includes a microwave, refrigerator, coffee/tea maker, and sometimes a dishwasher and basic cooking supplies. This allows guests the flexibility to prepare their own meals, which can lead to significant cost savings.
  • Spacious Suites: Many accommodations are suites, offering more space than a standard hotel room, often with separate sitting areas, which is beneficial for longer stays or for families. Rooms feature premium bedding, pillow-top mattresses, and blackout drapes for comfort.
  • Recreational Facilities: The outdoor pool, hot tub, and outdoor tennis courts provide recreational opportunities right on the property, allowing guests to relax and stay active without leaving the hotel grounds. There's also a mini-golf area.
  • Convenient Location: Its position on North Scottsdale Road offers excellent access to Arizona State University, Tempe Town Lake, and various dining and entertainment options, making it a central hub for exploring the area.
  • Free Parking: The availability of free self-parking, including for larger vehicles, is a practical benefit in a busy urban area like Tempe.
  • 24-Hour Business Center: This amenity is valuable for business travelers who need access to computers and printing services at any time.

It is important to acknowledge that despite these advertised features, some guest reviews have raised concerns about the functionality of certain amenities (like Wi-Fi and laundry facilities) and the unexpected nature of a $200 security deposit. Prospective guests should factor these points into their decision-making process.

As an independently branded extended stay property, Post 1429 Phoenix Tempe ASU's promotions may not always be as widely advertised as larger chain hotels. However, properties of this type often offer competitive rates, especially for longer durations. Prospective guests should consider the following avenues for potential promotions or special offers:

  • Direct Booking Discounts: Sometimes, hotels offer better rates when booking directly via phone or their official website, as it avoids third-party commissions. Inquiring directly can often uncover the best available pricing.
  • Weekly and Monthly Rates: Given its extended-stay designation, the hotel is likely to offer discounted rates for longer stays (e.g., weekly or monthly rates), which are significantly more economical than daily rates. Always ask about these options if your stay is for more than a few nights.
  • Off-Peak Season Deals: During the slower travel seasons in Arizona, hotels may offer reduced rates to attract guests. August and July are noted as potentially cheaper months for stays in Tempe.
  • ASU-Related Discounts: Due to its proximity to Arizona State University, the hotel might have special rates for ASU students, faculty, or visitors, particularly during move-in/move-out periods or academic events. It is worth inquiring about any such affiliations.
  • Online Travel Agency (OTA) Promotions: While direct booking is often preferred, checking popular online travel agencies like Expedia, Kayak, or Hotels.com can sometimes reveal specific limited-time deals or package rates that include the hotel.

It is always advisable to contact the hotel directly using the provided contact information to inquire about any current promotions that might apply to your specific travel dates and length of stay.

For direct inquiries, reservations, or more information about Post 1429 Phoenix Tempe ASU, please use the following contact details:

  • Address: 1429 N Scottsdale Rd, Tempe, AZ 85288, USA
  • Phone: (480) 675-9799
  • Mobile Phone: +1 480-675-9799

Given some of the feedback from previous guests, direct communication with the hotel is particularly recommended to confirm specific amenities (like Wi-Fi and laundry room availability) and to understand all financial policies, including the security deposit, before finalizing your booking.

For locals in Arizona, Post 1429 Phoenix Tempe ASU can be a suitable option for several specific scenarios, particularly if you are seeking an extended stay solution. Its primary appeal lies in its extended-stay format, offering kitchenette-equipped rooms. This is invaluable for Arizonans who might be undergoing home renovations, experiencing a temporary housing gap during a relocation within the state, or hosting out-of-town family for an extended period who prefer the independence of cooking their own meals. The ability to prepare food in-room can lead to significant cost savings compared to dining out daily, a practical benefit for managing budgets during longer temporary stays.

Furthermore, its location near Arizona State University makes it highly convenient for parents visiting ASU students for an extended period, or for locals attending long-term courses or workshops at the university. The proximity to major thoroughfares also means easy access to other parts of the Valley for work or leisure, minimizing commute times. While some guest experiences have highlighted areas for improvement regarding specific amenities and upfront communication about deposits, the core offering of spacious rooms with kitchenettes and the presence of on-site recreational facilities like the pool and tennis courts provide a functional base for longer durations. For locals who prioritize the flexibility of an extended stay format and a central Tempe location, and who are proactive in confirming current amenities and policies directly with the hotel, Post 1429 Phoenix Tempe ASU could indeed serve as a practical temporary home in the heart of the Valley.

We really thought the beds were comfortable. We stayed as it was closed to where we were visiting . ANGIE was extremely helpful and professional. She helped us on two occasions and is calm, pleasant although very busy the one time I was in the reception area. She is a gem! This place sure could use some TLC, however, it is actually a beautiful property with good bones and lots of potential. Location is great too. Good luck to new management - wishing you the very best in the future with this diamond in the rough. 👍

They advertised an airpot shuttle and I factored that into the cost of staying here. They DO NOT have a shuttle so factor another $15.00 if you are going to the airport. The place is decent and the free breakfast was nice. I just don't like false advertising.

Beds and pillows were comfortable. Room was small. Shower was dripping all night long. Room was also outdated. DEFINITELY wasn’t worth what I was charged. I rented two rooms. Rooms did not have a microwave which is pretty much standard in most rooms. That was disappointing. Staff was very helpful and nice upon arrival. Probably wouldn’t stay there again considering prices of rooms. Was very low quality.

I was fooled by the inflated reviews on booking.com, and boy was I mislead. When I walked into my room, the first thing you smelled was cigarette smoke. I asked to be changed to another room and they put me in a double queen. You can hear water through the walls all night, makes it hard to sleep. Amenities are pretty minimal. The hotel is pretty run down, broken flooring, broken amenities. They ask you to park your car behind the hotel and you have to be careful because there are minimal lights and lots of homeless, please don’t walk around at night. One of them stuck gym to the roof of my car- classy. I asked to extend my stay one night and they were going to charge $259 for an extra day (I paid $300 for three nights). So… I won’t be back. And I’ll be double checking booking.com with google reviews from now on.
