Among all the hotels I have stayed in my life - and I have stayed at quite a few - this has got to be one of the worst. The Best Western brand now is horrific. We checked in late around 9.30 in the night as we were in Tempe for a college tour. There was only one bath towel for the two of us which we only checked in the morning. We did not get the other bath towel despite requesting for it. I was told we would not get a towel until housekeeping came to work which would be past 9.30 am but we checked out at 8.30 am. When I brought the issue to the notice of the front desk, the lady at the front desk immediately told me I could get 15% off from the provider, which is Expedia. The catch being: I had to spend the time to reach out to Expedia, not them. Which of course, I could not as there is no way you can reach them. How very convenient for Best Western!! Bathtub greasy/slippery - not clean enough. Hair dryer was not working either along with one of the lights. There is no sink in the bathroom but there is one outside like commercial establishments. The pillows are half the size of regular pillows and gave me neck pain and backache. The corridors are lit like a gym through the night and light comes in through the wooden shutters. I had a tough time falling and staying asleep. The TV was also broken - for everyone. The less said about breakfast the better. Wifi did not work & the cell coverage was poor in the room. It certainly looks like they saved this room just for Expedia members fully knowing all the issues. This is a trashy hotel charging a premium price. Avoid at all costs!! My $100 deposit was refunded after more than a month!!

Mar 09, 2025 · Pratima SSTAY AWAY!!!!!!! This is probably the most nastiest hotel I've ever stayed in. The floors look like they have never been mopped. The first picture I posted is of a towel that we use to clean up some water off the floor and that's how black the floor crap came up. The showers look like they've never been cleaned The walls have crap all over it. There's holes in the walls. The fire smoke alarms do not have any batteries in them. The full size kitchen has no pots, pans, plates, or utensils. There were six people that we had checked in there were no extra pillows there were no extra blankets and only one roll of toilet paper and when we asked for more they said they would bring it around later and never did. Also there are three televisions one in each room but you only get one TV clicker. They have really cheap crappy blinds that brings in all of the lights from outside that they keep on all the time.
Apr 28, 2025 · Katie SmithThis hotel is a disgrace to the Best Western brand. I have been using BW for years and this hotel was absolutely unacceptable. The room had stains and hair all over the beds to the point where we slept on top of the sheets. (We had arrived at midnight and were very tired). I slept terribly due to this. The beds both also had CRUMBS on them The microwave still had food crumbs and half the lights didn't even work. Despite there being 3 people in our booking of the 1 BR SUITE, There was a single towel available. I asked for 3 extras so I could use one for the pool and they said they only had 2 sets. Towel shortage?? Even after I got a room change for the next night, there was only one towel in that room too. (The 2nd room was also awful but it appeared to me that the entire hotel is just awful so I saw no point in changing again) I will be contacting the manager and corporate for a refund of my points that I have spent a great deal of money to earn. This was not worth wasting my points on. Front desk staff were very respectful though which is why this place deserves a single star.
Mar 06, 2025 · KahaiRoom was clean and recently completely redone. Good mattress. Good location near airport radar trip there at 4:00 a.m. very easy. I was disappointed in maintenance on the general facility. They had a hot tub and I looked forward to a good soak. When I tried to enter the pool area where it is the handle for entry was missing and it was a combination lock. Fortunately I'm 6'4 and I was able to reach over and open the handle from the inside. But when I got to the hot tub it was probably around 68 degrees.. it also had a switch to turn it on but that was broken or missing as well. I tried turning it with my fingers and I could have with pliers but I think that just would have turned the bubbler on and the water would still be 68. Fortunately the pool was a little bit warmer and was heated but not to be comfortable temperature for the high 60s set the temperature of the air was. Management needs to fix their pool access and hot tub
Mar 10, 2025 · PAUL ROMANOSKIMy experience at the SureStay Plus by Best Western in Tempe, Arizona, was disappointing and far below expectations. First and foremost, the hot tub was out of order, which was not disclosed at check-in despite my direct inquiry about its location. I later learned that it had been nonfunctional for months. Transparency about amenities is essential, and this was a clear failure in communication. The room quality was below average, and I had to personally request that housekeeping mop the floors, which should be a standard cleaning procedure. Additionally, breakfast was served three hours late on my last day, making it an unreliable option for guests who planned to eat before heading out. Another major issue was the lack of high-speed internet—the staff repeatedly blamed a technician for the problem, but there was no solution provided. In addition, the hotel enforces a very strict cancellation policy, making it difficult for guests to adjust their plans if issues arise. Lastly, the hotel hosts a rehabilitation program for former drug users and ex-prisoners. While such programs serve an important purpose, guests should be informed in advance so they can make an informed decision about their stay. Overall, this property does not uphold the typical Best Western standards, and I would not recommend staying here. If you value transparency, functional amenities, and a properly maintained hotel, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere. ⭐ 1/5 – Save your money and book a different hotel.
