Well how to start. It's supposed to be a smoke free hotel, it even states it on the marquis sign outside. After carrying our luggage up the stairs to our room (no elevator so no luggage carts) the room reeked of cigarettes. My husband went back to the desk & told the lady we could not stay in that room & we were given another. This room didn't reek of smoke BUT since the entire hallway always smells like cigarettes it wafts in anyway. So their no smoking signs aren't doing a thing. The hallway rug was so buckled up that rolling a suitcase was hard & it has litter on it as if it hadn't been vacuumed in a while. The new room was fine but the toilet kept running but jiggling the handle stopped that every time. Then then it stopped flushing completely at 12am. The beds only have 2 tiny pillows barely bigger than throw pillows but they were soft. Now the uncomfortable.......entire families live in this hotel. It must be government subsidized housing. One woman had 5 small kids & you could hear all the kids in several of the rooms as you walk down the hall. That's sad that entire families live in a small room. (I will say that they quieted down after 9pm so sleeping was fine) There's breakfast in the lobby but waiting for someone to make enough waffles to feed the whole family was more than I was ready for at 8am. Sad to say that all the familes living there must rely on the "free food" and stock up for the day since all the donuts, muffins, fruit was basically gone 1/2 hour into when breakfast started. I don't like feeling sad watching/thinking about stuff like that as a start to my day. All the children were well behaved & one little boy made me a waffle after I complimented him on the good job he did making his....so sweet. I don't know why our government thinks it's a good idea to use hotels but there needs to be a better way to house families.

What a train wreck. The women at the front desk were civil, not friendly, when they informed us (five adults, five kids, three rooms) that they were having the carpet replaced on the second floor where our rooms were and would we please take the back stairs. Now, it was 9pm when we checked in and, sure as anything, there were two men attempting to put carpet down all along the hallways on the second floor. The rooms smelled like cigarettes and that stairway they had us take was where the men were throwing large and small scraps of carpet, making it somewhat treacherous to navigate with three kids, one elderly disabled, and all our luggage. The rooms were a good size, but if you arent used to sleeping on a terrible mattress, dont expect to get any sleep. They give you two pillows per bed only. The child that I put on an air mattress slept better than anyone. As we walked to and from the car down the hallway, the men doing the carpet kept complaining loudly about the staff at the hotel and their working conditions to any guest who passed them by. You could tell that the staff did not want to deal with them. Around 10pm, the carpet guys stopped one of the moms in our group and advised then that they would be ENTERING our rooms soon in order to get the thresholds done on the carpet. ABsolutely not. We complained to the front desk and ended up securing all our doors and trying to fall asleep amongst the carpet glue fumes. When we got up in the morning to leave, the carpet had been cut around all the thresholds, leaving six to eight inches of carpet sticking straight up and producing a massive tripping hazard to anyone coming out of their rooms and not paying attention. Before we vacated, the man was back in the hallway cutting carpet and when we greeted him, he proceeded to complain again about his working conditions. At that point, we just packed up the car and put this place behind us. Don't waste your money, its a dump and they don't know how to treat their guests.

Stayed here to explore parts of North Carolina. Lots of places nearby and beautiful hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel if you are staying with family and friends. Breakfast has plenty of options too!

Arrived at the hotel at check in time, only to be told the room isn't ready yet and to come back in 30 min. We then had to rinse out the tub before we could take a shower. Shower barely drained. Outlets in the room were so loose that the plug just fell back out. USB ports on power strip don't work. Fridge didn't get cold. The "continental breakfast" in the morning was 2 granola bars, 1 muffin, an inch worth of orange juice, the standard waffle maker, and coffee that ran out after 2 cups ( we went to eat 30 min after the start of breakfast, no reason to be out of food already). I would not recommend this hotel for any reason.

My friend and I now live nearly 2 hours away from each other and me miss each other, just watching our favorite tv shows, chatting & hanging out together like we've done for years. Thomasville has become our half way point to meet and spend time together, but there's not much to do or places to just relax together so a hotel is necessary. Shocker, not many hotels to choose from in Thomasville, and none are what we're accustomed to. Also no small airb&bs or vrbos available for the day so we had to choose one of the hotel options. We arrived after lunch around 12noon. No checking till 3p but it's literally 20 degrees outside so we just sat in the little breakfast area & talked till we could get a room. The lobby was spacious and bright and the large staircase, complete with chandalier, is visually appealing. Our room was spacious, sparse and visually worn on all surfaces. The alarm clock and phone were both visual items only, but with the wi-fi code tucked conviniently in with the door keys, I was able to get all my goals met without the use of these props. I can't say enough how friendly the staff was, both the morning and evening desk staff were friendly and engaging which was a very positive and appreciated distraction. We were exhausted, so fell asleep on the very soft, very comfy pillows. I would've appreciated a thicker blanket, but was easily able to turn up the heat so rest was achieved. The basic boxes were checked and our goal of hanging out was achieved = Yay!
