The only way I can put this is that this place looks like the hotel you would drive past because it looks too seedy. And you would have been correct. The room itself is OK. And the location is in/near a small office park with other hotels near by. But... Sink drains when it wants. Room doesn’t appear overly dirty or unclean. But it's the little things. The room had been ridden hard.. There is the proverbial hair in the tub, "Smoke-free", but curtain had cigarette burns. Strange stain on blackout curtain. But it's cheap right?! Pool is there, but is non-functional. Parking lot reminds me of streets back home in NOLA. IYKYK. The shower required combo steps to work. Why would it be straightforward?! Like I said, it's cheap. So you get what you pay for, but geez! It's not the worst hotel/room that I've ever stayed in. But it's in the top 5. Probably wouldn't stay here again.
Are you a North Carolina local searching for an affordable place to stay in Greensboro, perhaps for a quick trip, an event at the Coliseum, or while passing through? The Quality Inn & Suites Coliseum offers a budget-friendly option, providing essential amenities and a highly convenient location. While it aims to offer value, it’s important to understand what to expect to ensure it meets your specific travel needs.
As part of the Quality Inn brand, a Choice Hotels property, this hotel typically focuses on delivering consistent, basic comforts for travelers looking for a practical and economical stay. It's often chosen for its competitive pricing, especially for those who prioritize location and a lower cost over luxury amenities. It’s designed to be a straightforward option for guests who need a place to rest and access local attractions.
Customer reviews for Quality Inn & Suites Coliseum in Greensboro provide a mixed but helpful picture. On the positive side, the front desk staff, particularly "the two front desk Ladies," are frequently lauded as "great," "polite and courteous," and "very helpful." This consistent praise for the staff indicates a genuine effort to provide good customer service, which can significantly enhance a guest's experience, especially for locals who appreciate friendly faces. Some guests have also found the rooms to be "OK" or "very clean" upon recent renovations, highlighting efforts to update the property.
However, many reviews candidly point out areas where the hotel "could use a little TLC" or "needs to be completely replaced." Recurring issues include the property appearing "seedy" from the outside, "dirty hall carpet," and "paint peeling old water stains." Room-specific issues frequently mentioned are "smoke-free" rooms having "cigarette burns" on curtains, "strange stain on blackout curtain," and "hair in the tub." The functionality of certain amenities has also been a concern, with the "pool... non-functional" or "dirty and not filled" and issues with sink drains and showers requiring "combo steps to work." The parking lot is described as having potholes, and some guests noted "electronic locks to common areas broken" and a "Health rating certificate 'B'." The breakfast, while free, is often considered "not good" or having "limited food replenishment" and "broken machines." These detailed insights suggest that while the price point is appealing and the staff are commendable, guests should set their expectations regarding the age and maintenance of the property, as it may not offer the most pristine or fully functional experience.
Ultimately, the Quality Inn & Suites Coliseum appears to be a hotel where "you get what you pay for" – an affordable room with a great location and friendly staff, but with some wear and tear and inconsistent amenity functionality. For a quick, budget-conscious stay near the Coliseum, it might serve its purpose, especially if you prioritize cost and location above all else.

One of its primary benefits is its proximity to major transportation arteries. Situated conveniently "off Interstate 40," it provides straightforward access for guests traveling by car, allowing for easy navigation to different parts of the city and connections to nearby cities like Winston-Salem and High Point. This is crucial for both local residents using it for a quick stay or out-of-town visitors.

Jun 10, 2025 · S. WalkerThe two front desk Ladies are great. The hall Carpet was a bit dirty.. the building could use a little TLC. They could put screens in the windows to keep out flies and bees. Fix the pool
Apr 27, 2025 · Vanessa ChichesterI did not even continue my stay at this hotel because the outside was so dirty and unacceptable. I booked this based on the pictures but the parking lot and outside of the rooms looked so unsafe that I did not stay. Traveling alone, I had to leave. The hotel was unwilling to give me a credit or anything. The pictures are deceiving and out of date.
Apr 15, 2025 · Brandie WrightI was highly upset, I am on the road for work a lot, this was Friday night into Saturday morning and as most places check out was 11 am. I didn't get anything out of the car and I had Saturday off so I set an alarm for 10:45 am I needed to catch up some on my sleep I had put in a lot of hours. At 9:45 am KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK very very loudly scared the crap out of me and I hear a woman yell housekeeping. I mean really at 9:45 am!?!?!! WHY?? She couldn't wait until I checked out? Because of the way she knocked and had my heart beating out of my chest I couldn't get back to sleep. It really ruined my morning. Another place I doubt seriously that I go back to. People asked about deposits I had a $50 deposit that was taken instantly but took 3 days to get it back.
Mar 12, 2025 · Rhonda Mitchell CooperPlease find somewhere else to stay. The room was absolutely filthy. It reminded me of a project building. Roaches in the bathroom. Sheets smelled like they hadn't been changed. Bathroom still had cleaner as if it had been abandoned mid clean. Whole building smelled of cigarettes and weed. Thank God for Hilton taken us on as guests at 2 am.
